I am on PS5. The two reasons I did not opt for Xbox were low XBOX player count in my region (PS dominates here) and the forced crossplay with PC in some games.

I really wish this was not the case since I feel XBOX is a much superior experience compared to PS5.

General Discussion / Re: VRR doubles input lag on some TVs

Thanks for the reply.

As per the below article on TFT central, PS5 might only support HDMI-VRR using HDMI 2.1.

So I was really confused whether to buy HDMI 2.1 monitor, because the other features of HDMI 2.1 like [email protected], ALLM are not necessary for me, but VRR would be good.

Sony has been updating their TV's for VRR, and I hope they roll out VRR on PS5 pretty soon. That should provide more clarity if HDMI 2.1 would be a must have.

VRR is bad on a monitor too. I turned it off and when freesync was activated on the monitor, I didn't notice any difference in quality compared to VRR. I don't use VRR. Less input lag is more important to me.
I wanted to purchase a HDMI 2.1 monitor just for the VRR using PS5. The other features don't matter to me because my target is just 1080p @120Hz. So do you suggest for [email protected] I just get a HDMI 2.0 monitor instead, since VRR on HDMI 2.1 would only add more input lag?

@mrbrutalfrosty After how much time of making the payment was it actually shipped?
I placed my order yesterday.

@antithesis Is it true that for cross platform games Xbox actually forces crossplay with PC?

I heard on XBOX in COD multiplayer and warzone, you cant play online without enabling crossplay. And even if crossplay is disabled, you only deny playing with PS players and will still find PC players in your lobby.

I did an inputlag test a while ago and the added lag from Remote Play was around 16-18 milliseconds.
And how is the image quality with remote play? I tried RDR2 with PS4 pro and I couldn't even get it running on 1080p on 140/140 MBPS connection.

Is crossplay mandatory for XBOX? I heard that you are forced to play with PC players at least in COD. Even though the performance on Xbox is great, it still does not have things like Nvidia filters, So crossplay with PC players is not acceptable to me.

And besides, how do games like RDR2 and the division 2 which do not have good aiming mechanics perform with XIM on XBOX?

HDMI 2.0 can absolutely do 1440p, 120Hz and VRR. Check RMLís Dell monitor thread. I use one too at these specs on Series X and PC. Many monitors can do 1440p at 120+Hz, but not many support VRR.

DisplayPort 1.4 is an older PC standard that can also do 4K at 120Hz. HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4 converters may pop up soon.

But in this article by TF Central, they say VRR would be supported by PS5 only using HDMI2.1. You can scroll to the VRR section.

General Discussion / Re: Cold War Aim assist

Aim assist in this game is not stronger than previous games.
But as per JGOD & Xclusive Ace the AA in BOCW is the strongest of all COD's. In fact as per JGOD beta review, AA was way too OP and the PC M/KB players were right to complain about it. Even TGD, Exoghost complained a lot about the AA.

It feels identical to PC to me, but with a small amount of input lag from V-Sync @ 120hz.

It's barely noticeable and you soon forget it's there.

Do you play on 1000 Hz polling rate?

But, I think the step up from 1080p to 1440p will result in significantly improved visuals on a desktop screen.
Are you talking about 27" Screen? because 1080p on 24" panel should have approximately the same pixel density as 1440p 27"?

It's strange that Apex legends has crossplay without native mouse/ KB support. I feel the native M/KB support in BOCW is better than in MW2019. Even at 1000Hz polling rate there is no acceleration.

MW2019 should be good since this engine is built off of that. Either way, the K&M support is really good in this game and it's more satisfying than fighting with aim assist.

What are the mouse settings (polling Rate & DPI) you use for native M/KB?

XIM APEX Discussions / Re: Ps4 bfv ST feels sluggish.

Try the XB1 ST on PS4. It may be a stick resolution issue (XB1 is 16-bit, PS4 is 8-bit) and from what I understand, XB1 STs have higher resolution.

I can notice a significant improvement in Destiny 2 on PS4 using the XB1 ST, maybe it'll work for BFV.
Did you by any chance try the XB ST on The Division 2? sometimes micro movements don't register.

To justify their bad data compression,  they are working from home, and are still adding content to the game.
