Guys, why all the guides to remote play method says that DSv2 is needed to play?
Its works great with DualSense.

Yea it does.

I'm using a dualsense to remote play. You can use either controller.

DualSense doesn't work very well on my PC (maybe 10% success rate only).

But DS4v2 works every time and I still cannot figure out the real reason.

Anyway, thanks for this remote guide and now I can really play BF2042 on PS5 :)

Yea sometimes when I turn it on with the dualsense it's dysynced (however that's spelled lol) but I bought one of the usb power toggle switches and I just flip it all off then on again and it syncs up properly and it's working with dualsense. When I get a legit DS4 V2 later today I'll try it out that way.

Do I need to plug in the DS4 V2 to the laptop first to recognize it like I did with the dualsense?

In my case, at first I plugged DS4v2, K&B into XIM apex together, and then plugged xim apex to PC. It always works.

Not sure if this is going to help anyone, but using the dual sense with a PC was not working as well as I expected. The pc I am using only has USB 3.0, I remember someone mentioning XIM Apex sometimes doesn't behave well with 3.0.

So I plugged the XIM Hub (3 port hub included with XIM APEX) to my PC, then I plugged XIM Apex to port 1 ( I tried all, no difference really) then from the back of  the XIM Apex, I plugged another powered USB 3.0 USB I had around, then I plugged Dual sense, mouse and NAV to the 3.0 Hub. This worked all the time, I don't even have to plug the dual sense last. I just leave everything connected. Again just my persona results...but if you are having issues using the dual sense in your PC with the XIM Apex, you may want to use or get a 2.0 USB hub.

Hi, Willthetech

Is it what you mean?

Check that the controller settings on your PS5 are set to Use USB Cable.

DualSense hardly works on my PC (1~2 time success after plug/unpluging more than 10 times)
The powered USB hub makes no difference.

On the other hand, PS4 V2 Dualshock works everytime without powered hub.

The gaming experience is just like local control. Thanks!

Hey guys,

I followed all suggested instruction, plus read all pages but still not working.

So I connected Mouse and Keyboard and DS to Xim hub, than connected it to Apex and than to my laptop (an HP Omen).
Light on Apex is green, no purple, so I think all is correct but continue to not work.

Strange thing is that DS light go on, it means is powered but if I move joystick or button nothing happens and obviously keyboard and mouse are not working.

I also tried to connect only DS to Apex than to laptop but still not working. If I connect DS directly to laptop it works.

My brother has another Apex and he has a tower computer and his Apex works. I tried with his Apex and his USB hub and still not work.

I have no more idea. I'm thinking there is something strange with my computer.
I ordered from Amazon an USB powered AC hub and hope is a power issue.

If you have other suggestions I appreciate them.

Do you solve the problem using a standalone powered USB hub?

I have the same issue as yours. Thanks!

Hi, guys.

I followed the steps and tried to plug/unplug DS and KB around 10 times. It finally works.

During the failure period, I noticed that I can give a single order (e.g. circle or cross) in the remote play and then DS is offline. <-- It seems like USB power issue.

I wonder that will a standalone 5V-DC powered USB hub can solve this issue?

Any opinion from xim team? Thanks!
