Configurations and Requests / Re: Halo 4 XIM2 Config Done
« on: 04:05 PM - 11/11/12 »
I've been running around with this config:
Deadzone: 3800 (Circular)
XY: 2
TE: 0.41
Primary Sensitivity: 5200
Secondary Sensitivity: 15500
DD: 0.01
Smoothness: 0.001
UR: 75

I'll try MadClown's TE later, since I can still feel the acceleration in my config.

Boca Raton, though I'm still using an XIM 2. I'll pick up an XIM 3 eventually...

Am I the only one who is still content enough with my XIM2 that I don't have to rush out and get the XIM3? Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to try out the smart profiles, but my XIM2 has only been downgraded to the second best M/KB adapter on the market.

Only thing that changed was a bugfix for the "Edit" option. By the way, if I continue this project, it'll be rewritten in C#.

Window movement is buggy at best. I wouldn't bother with it.

You can download 1.2.1 here.

I'm not trying to speak for OBsIV, but remember that this time around it won't be a controller mod produced and shipped by a few guys out of their homes. This is the real deal with the XIM3. As community oriented as OBsIV is, donations aren't how professional businesses work. Buying XIM3s and helping spread the word is what would give him the option to give away smart configs while still returning a profit. Plus, I'd imagine seeing his product being sold is more rewarding than recieving donations. Not that donations aren't great, but seeing your hard work adding up to something is a bit more powerful a feeling.

That's the config I'm using. It's not perfect, but I dominated in SWAT with this.

Red Faction Guerrilla pulled jetpacks off well, so I'd imagine that Reach could too. As for the smart configs, I think they may work. Reach's engine may not resemble Halo 3's much, but I doubt that they'd change the aiming. It has always been the same and always worked like a charm.

Since I doubt there would be a smart config for every game, OBsIV would have to leave manual configs for advanced users. But at the same time, the idea of the smart configs is that new users wouldn't need to check the forums for a configuration and tweak it themselves. They could just get the smart config and be done. So, yes, a smart configuration would be needed for CoD.

Well I started working on a new GUI, but I'm probably just going to keep it the same, visually. With improvements, of course. I've just been really distracted with school and other projects.

It wouldn't need to be a selling point for new users, just supported for older ones. Something like a USB to USB cable would be fine. The cable itself wouldn't even need to be included or anything, just the feature there as an option. At least this way XIM 2 users would know that their current joysticks (wheels, flight sticks, Wiimote, PS3 controller, etc) would work with the XIM 3. I'd think it would mostly be software for the PC anyway.

Even if the XIM 2 works when plugged into the XIM 3, it seems a bit redundant and expensive. Plus, it'd like to be able to use both my XIM 2 and 3 at the same time for my father and myself.

Would it at all be possible to use the XIM 3 in an XIM 2'ish fashon where a USB cable could connect the PC to the XIM 3 (the same way it connects to the mouse) and use a variation of the XIM 2 software? The way the XIM 1/2 worked had a lot of pluses that I wouldn't think are that hard to add support for in the XIM 3. I'm not experienced developing in hardware (or software), but if it will have some support for other peripherals and can connect to the PC anyway, why not offer the ability to use the PC as a peripheral? It would make the XIM 3 compatable with everything that connects to a PC. I feel like it would be better to build off of the XIM 2's successes than start from scratch.

What about wireless with the charging cable?

Did you try clicking on the button at the bottom for said config and changing the button it's assigned to?

Also, planned changes for 2.0 (since I'm finally starting on it again this weekend):
 - new GUI
 - implementation of both the Smart Mouse System XIM.exe and the old XIM.exe so that non-Halo configs switch faster.
 - XIM1 Support.
 - Allowing more/less than 5 quick launch keys.
 - Allowing button combos for quick launch.
 - Support for launching/editing AHK scripts.
 - Sharing XIM configs through a server. (hopefully)

i hope so OBsiV and it would be also great if it were to come around war fare 2. that would just rock the fps game world. you know there are a lot of pc gamers who would love to switch over to console and only thing that is holding them back are the stupid controllers. so if the XIM3 is good as i hope and with a few word of mouth you may sway few thousand pc gamers or even more.

It's not coming out in a month dude, don't even bother getting your hopes up for something like that.  It's completely and totally unrealistic.  Like I said before, I'd bet all the money I'll ever earn for the rest of my life that XIM3 will not be released in 2009.
ok ok can you at least tell me why it wont be released on 2009? did obsiv tell you that or are you just going with your intuition?

"Now that is done, the engineering process can start (meaning, things start getting fun from my perspective)."

He hasn't even started with the device itself. It cannot possibly be finished in even a few months. This isn't just some makeshift home-made product, this is the real deal. It takes time.
