@#$% man. Sometimes, I literally destroy everyone and end up with a KDr above 8. Then I'm barely breaking even. It's so frustrating, getting the jump on someone, aiming down sights, shoot him three times and he still kills you. Or if you do kill him, there's a teammate of his baiting him and jumps out and kills you from behind. Ok, the latter has nothing to do with the xim but it does frustrate me lol

Theres alot of stuff that will kill you really fast in BO3, especially if you run around too much.
People figure out really strong weapons like Shiva, XR-2 and that Gorgon LMG etc. and then play stationary with those weapons, given that they are beast for mid-long range, but rather mediocre in close range.
Its also visible on the BigFoltz's stream. Guys playing on that stream are beast pubstompers and used to run around and destroy everyone really hard in the first few days. When you watch the stream today, its barely possible to rush around like a mad man with a beast KD any more. Because ppl have figured out cheap stuff that gives easy kills like trip mine, the HIVE specialist with the bees, ppl will headglitch with burst/bolt type ARs, ppl will headglitch with the bow and arrow, shock gun and Super Pistol, because its the most reliable way to get kills with those specials, since you dont get killed immediately if you miss your first shot.
The most effective way to play this COD is a mix between patrolling areas, preaiming long lines of sight when walking around corners, using thrust jump/slide to get in cover, use cover to your advantage in gunfights, so you can quickly hide around a wall to reload or to heal up etc.
Especially if you play solo and face some teams of 2+ people who play rather organized, its required to play super passive in order to have a chance to win at all. You wont be able to rush around and destroy premade teams like in MW3 for example or BO1.
If you want to just have fun and dont care about stats or outcome of the round- you can rush around and rely on your reflexes and aim. If you want to play consistently in the long run and try to win as much as possible, you should utilize a mix between playing super carefully and "storming the front" in the right moment when you have an upper hand. Like if you got a killstreak (the mini-tank) and it drives inside a house with some enemies, you can basically let the tank absorb the damage and rush those fools.

Basically my favourite playstyle in this particular COD as of right now is a mix between WingsOfRedemption-style patrolling some areas in ADS, and then once I got my killstreaks, I start running around, because you then have some "backup" in form of the small tank/stealth chopper etc.
I used to play completely different in previous cods, but in order to be successful, you need to adjust to new things.
Again in my personal oppinion, this COD is not your typical "pick up a shotgun/SMG and rush the enemy spawn" like it was possible in MW2/MW3/BO1 etc. You will get killed alot in the process with all the single-shot specialists like Super Pistol, Shock Rifle, Bow and Arrow, Noobtube Special, Flamethrower Special, with the Ground Stomp, with the Wallhack Super, with the Armor Special etc. There are just too many things than can kill you super fast if ppl catch you off-guard.
Thats why the meta of this game is to preferably keep your enemies at mid-long range and utilize cover to protect yourself from BS specials + gambling with the flinch.
In other words, headlitches and cover is your best friend, if you dont like getting BSed by the specials and flinch mechanic.
