General Discussion / Re: logitech g502 proteus core

Andy I originally purchased the G700s because I wanted the extra buttons, but then a lot of reading on this site and I saw rave reviews for the G502 so I went ahead and returned my G700s and bought it.

- The button placement is so much easier to use than the G700s, especially if your playing FPS and don't have time to think about which button your trying to press
- Very comfortable even for a palm-grip player like myself, because I think this mouse is meant more for clawgrip players?
- 12000DPI on XIM4, and this thing is smooth man

Honestly I love it, and think you made a great purchase. Just remember to assign "keystrokes" to the buttons in LGS so that your XIM4 can recognize them and you bind to all the buttons.

Greeno if you use the Logitech Gaming Software in windows and assign"keystrokes" such as numbers to the two top side buttons, the profile switching button, and the DPI shift button you can then bind any controller button to them in XIM manager. Honestly I've got more than enough buttons that I even ended up double binding some like Square is scroll down and a side button on G502.

I can't speak to XBOX One settings, but I bought some Turtle Beach P11's for my PS4 and they work lovely for chat/game audio simply through USB connection. Although I do find them slightly uncomfortable, but for 35 bucks they're pretty clear and don't sound bad either.

I believe this is one: http://www.amazon.com/Syba-SD-CM-UAUD-Adapter-C-Media-Chipset/dp/B001MSS6CS

However, it may be too thick to fit into the slot ..so you may need an extension or see someone posts another working usb soundcard.

Also you could purchase something like the Turtle Beach P11 ($35) ..I bought these and they work just by plugging into the USB port alone

Bertuzzi ..if it makes a difference you can actually bind straight from your console with "on the fly" editing. Visit the instructional videos page and Obsiv put up a video. This is great for those of us without android phones.

I just picked up some cheap Turtle Beach headphones, the P11's, for $35 bucks. Works perfectly just plugging into USB alone. But I did consider something similar to what you did Jaydee.

I was a little worried before the purchase because the headphones have a USB connection and then a standard 3.5mm jack. But on the PS4 the USB connection powers the headset, and chat works without having to do anything with the 3.5mm jack. I hope this helps someone who doesn't wanna shell out a lot of cash for an XIM4 chat solution.

Don't quote me on this but from the little research I've done you can purchase a headset like the Turtle Beach P11 and plug it into the ps4 USB port alone and achieve chat/game audio. There's even a spreadsheet floating around with a list of working headsets. It's on YouTube or you can google it. I'm most likely gonna shell out $35 bucks and see it works. Also another solution is the USB sound card, a headset with a 3.5mm jack, and then you purchase a separate clip on mic ..all plugged into the USB sound card which is then plugged in the ps4.

Ok those Turtle Beach headsets are out, apparently they have a USB and a regular mic jack which you would need to plug into the DS4. Does anyone know of cheap USB only headsets or headsets with audio/mic jack that would work with the Syba soundcard?

This is the last piece of the puzzle for me, and I thought I had a lock with the 35 dollar Turtle Beach ones

I found this google spreadsheet on YouTube of working headsets if this helps:

And here's the original video:

Reading that spreadsheet, I found this regarding some $35 Turtle Beach headsets with the USB/Mic jack connection, but still need to confirm this.

"These P11's work on the PS4 just by plugging in the USB to the PS4. I am reading that people are cutting the cord to connect the jack to the controller. You don't need to do this. The USB provides both the sound and the mic abilities."

I think all the sony headsets work, but I've read that the chat quality is terrible.

If you want to go an alternative route check out this thread: http://xim4.com/community/index.php?topic=31920.0

But as of today I just messaged Od1n cause he seems to know a lot about the audio regarding PS4. Basically a lot of people will suggest buying the Syba adapter, but I asked him if a USB chat headset might work and he said it should. So I'm looking to maybe purchase a cheap refurbished headset like the http://www.turtlebeach.com/product-detail/pc-headsets/ear-force-px11/388 for around $35 bucks.

However, if anyone else can recommend a cheap but good quality usb wired headset for the PS4, please do.

lol got @#$% ...I'm so torn now man. I bought the G700S a few days ago because I got a price alert for 49.99. Now everyone is raving about the G502 ...what do I do lol. I bought the G700s cause it has more buttons, and now that I have it, it feels super heavy but comfortable. And while the extra buttons are awesome, their placement isn't great. I can see myself pressing the wrong button constantly. Any thoughts? Do I return this, spend an extra 30 and get the 502?

Hey sans, I noticed you have the Sony Gold headset ...hows the chat functionality for the ps4? ...I was pretty much set on it, until I read a review and the guy says the mic is terrible for multiplayer

I just bought the G700S, so I second knowing the optimal settings for the XIM4 ..also what's "angle snapping" ? ...is that something you activate via the Logitech software?

Also if anyone could tell me if the wireless mode would work less efficiently than the wired with the XIM4 ...I'll be extremely close to the transceiver anyways.

*Edit: On a side note, I'm finding this mouse a little heavy ..I just made the switch from my trusty G5 which I've been using for almost 2 years now.

I'm going with the G700S for a few reasons
- It has the most buttons, more can't hurt
- It's currently on the compat list for the XIM4
- Obsiv uses the original (G700) I believe, and says he likes it
- Seems like there's some decent reviews of it from what I've heard/youtubed, and it can be used either wired or wirelessly

I would've wanted the G602, but unfortunately its not compatible at the moment

I think you'll seem some soon. Obsiv said this the other day "I have the first few boxed retail units off the line here with me and they turned out amazing. I can't wait until we start shipping them out."
