I am assuming you have the Non slim/Pro PS4 controller?  If you do then the adapter should be fine, however if you are using a headset that has a cable for audio and cable for microphone, then you would need an adapter like this, https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-External-Adapter-Windows-AU-MMSC/dp/B00IRVQ0F8/ref=pd_sbs_147_7?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B071HJ98Q6&pd_rd_r=K4NGZ4FK4M1G18NNSB19&pd_rd_w=qkacU&pd_rd_wg=X6joV&refRID=K4NGZ4FK4M1G18NNSB19&th=1.  I have used that when I was using a Xim4.  The only problem with that adapter is that it doesn't fully plug into the usb port on the ps4 so you need a little usb extension so that it can fit.

On the other hand, if you do have a Slim/Pro Ps4 controller, then you can just use the headphone jack on the ps4 controller itself as the Xim Apex now supports it.  It would not work for the original PS4 controller though, only for the Slim/Pro Ps4 Controller.  Hope that answers your question.
Yeah I don't have slim or pro. And the headset I have is both audio and microphone in one so I know not to get the one you linked, but thanks for the help! And even if I had ps4 slim or pro I would probably still get this because the controller when plugged into the apex is quite far behind the ps4, and would get annoying. on the other side, my ps4 is right next to me, and plugging this in would be a lot easier

APEX supports chat over the controller when using an Xbox One controller on Xbox or a Slim/Pro PS4 controller on PS4. If you don't have a slim or a pro controller you can connect the device you linked directly to the console. This device will not work when connected to APEX.
Yes I have the normal ps4, so when I connect this device to the 2nd USB port on the ps4 it will work when xim apex is in USB port 1, and this device in USB port 2, right?

Its not being connected to the apex, its being connected to the 2nd USB port on the ps4?

If your setup is drawing too much power you may have stability issues like the one you have described. To troubleshoot against this issue one could use low power peripherals such as a mouse and keyboard that do not have lighting. A standard office mouse and keyboard for example.

If this helps or you don't have access to low power peripherals then you can provide additional power that may be necessary to your current mouse and keyboard by adding a power adapter to the APEX hub. The supported adapter specs are:

5V 3A power adapter  ([3.5mm x 1.35mm], center-positive)

Adapters with these specs are available on Amazon and other vendors. Attaching an adapter that meets this spec to the APEX hub will provide additional power which may be necessary for your particular hardware setup.
Ok that makes sense. Staying at a hotel tonight because we lost power on my street because of the snow storm, so when the power comes back I will do.

I never really got a yes or no answer to this question. If I did I missed I but whatever. If one of the devs can give me an answer it would be great. Will this work with xim apex? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XP5R449/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AKXVBT49GGF3B&psc=1
You plug the usb into one of the ports of the ps4, and your 3.5mm headset into the other side? I know I didn't explain that well, if you just click the link it will make sense haha. If you scroll down the page you can see a picture of someone actually using it on ps4 so it will show you what it looks like in action.

It could be the high power draw of your setup affecting stability. You could test this by using low power peripherals without lighting. If this helps then you could add a power adapter to APEX for additional power to your peripherals. APEX supports  this power adapter spec: 5V 3A power adapter  ([3.5mm x 1.35mm], center-positive)
Thats sounds very confusing but I will try?

Could you please share your setup so we can learn more about the issue?

Did you change the setting on your PS4 for your controller?
What was that?

This didnít happen with my xim4 so I dont know whatís happening

Identical setup as your XIM4 except you are using XIM APEX?
Yes. I think so. I might have remapped some keys in the configuration, but that I donít think will affect it.

So every 4-5 minutes, my ps4 controller (i think) turns off, which makes my keyboard and mouse also not move. My controller is 100% battery charge. This is a big problem since I was playing competitive ow. Any help so it doesnít do this at all? To get it back to work I have to unplug my controller from the xim apex usb hub, press the ps button on it, and then put it back in. But I would rather not have to do this bc I go afk, so any help from devs/ comm would be appreciated

doing research helps sometimes or asking a few questions. i had to buy a usb to 3.5mm adapter for my headphones/mic because i have a old school ps4 and controllers. i also needed to buy new data cables from controller to xim since the one i have is so old that came with my system in 2013.

there was a lot i needed to complete my setup to be honest, other then thinking i can just buy a XIM and be good lol
Can you link me the adapter so i can buy it? Its probably not the same as the one i saw but this one looked good: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XP5R449/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AKXVBT49GGF3B&psc=1
Maybe thats the one you have. Do you know if the one i linked will work with xim apex? None of the devs have answered me (what you do is plug the usb into the ps4, and you plug your 3.5mm jack headphone into the other side).

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATR2USB-3-5mm-Adapter/dp/B00I6ILPPC
So are you positive that works with xim apex? And what if you have a headset that has a microphone built into it? Which hole would you plug it into then?
