Hi everyone,

I've had this issue for a year and always thought it's an Ax pro problem but it seems to be a Xim2 issue. Ax pro headset has a chat volume control on it which controls how loud you can hear your teammates, independent of game sound. This feature never really worked for me because I had always used the Xim Controller. A while back I tested it with a normal controlled and lo and behold, it actually worked.

Can this be a result of the Xim 2 mod on the controller? Has anyone else ever noticed something like this? More importantly, is there a way to fix it?

Also, I imagine it is not only just my Xim 2's left analoug stick that doesn't work unless xim 2 is plugged to both pc and xbox and xim software running, right?

XIM 3 Discussions / Xim 3 vs. Xim 2
« on: 06:53 PM - 02/15/11 »
I have seen some threads about the superiority of Xim 3 over Xim 1 which I don't think even needs to be discussed given that even Xim 2 was superior to Xim 1.

I don't mind using a computer and setting the values manually for my Xim 2, so what's more important is whether smart translators for Xim 3 really do make an improvement over Xim 2 as far as the gaming experience goes.

Can anyone owning both a Xim 2 and Xim 3 try and compare them here for the rest of us? For instance load the best black ops setting for xim 2 and compare it to Xim 3 smart translator settings.

I ordered on the first of jan, i have to admit it is getting on a little now.

I'm not angry.....yet.... I have to admit I'm still kinda happy for the xim guys having such a run away sucess and understand that's part of the problem, but surely you have got to start wondering what is going on when people in the US are getting the things delivered within a week (or apparently anyway, according to this thread).

so guys, any chance of a little update? Want me to send you a UPS label? :)

Well since you're just getting a tiny little upset (not angry) I think the team will ship yours in a few months. I think they'll delay as long as possible where possible = when people can't really take it anymore and something drastic happens.

Until then, they'll be happy to ignore you or so it's been.

and the mystery of international shipping continues.....

lol, way too much love going around!

Point about Distance is completely irrelevant since it's not like the team has to personally carry the package to our doorsteps. They drop it off at their local post office, more or less the same way they would do domestic packages. The only thing (as far as we've been told) that is holding them off is the paperwork. The restaurant analogy I made works pretty good, but Enfant_Terrible's analogy works just as well but the only problem is that there's no indication that anyone else (someone besides the production team) is actually working on the paperwork. So to our knowledge no one is really even touching the international orders at the moment.

The equivalent case in restaurant analogy is a restaurant that asks everyone in line what they want. If what they want takes longer to prepare by the chef, then let the next 200 people in first who want to order just a hamburger. It boils down to "if it's more difficult leave it for last". It's not a bad idea for the team to let us at least know what makes it so difficult to ship international. If there's more to it than filling a sheet of paper and dropping the packages off to local FedEx (or whatever) , then let us know. Internet stores have made international shipping look like a trivial task so excuse us if we're underestimating the problems involved and let us know how it's much harder than it looks. That's what I'm rambling about!! Even just knowing that it's really a difficult and extremely time consuming process helps us be understanding and patient.

Thanks :)

dense and Relys you are both missing the point.

We're all in a line to go to a restaurant which is the best restaurant in town. Everything you are saying Relys falls on just describing how great the restaurant is, which I already said no one is arguing with. Here's the issue, plain and simple:

I've stayed in line like any others for the restaurant to open and let's say I'm number 30 in line. Now the restaurant is open, and instead of me being served as the 30th person, the restaurant owner tells me since I'm from out of town, all the people from his town (100,200 or more (not told how many)) are allowed to be jumping the line in front of me. Telling me that serving me is hard to do so I'm left for last is obviously not going to be very happy news and does rightfully seem like discrimination.

All of this holds true simply because it's generally accepted that if there's a line up, it's there so people can be served in a first come first serve basis. If the owner of the restaurant is breaking this accepted system, it's nice to let everyone know about it with clear and unambiguous (and dare I say "fair") reasons.

Again, it's a matter of principal and I don't think anyone (at least not me) would have a hard time being patient if more clear responses are provided, and as far as patience goes, we have plenty of it if no one else was jumping ahead in the line, but once the store is open and everyone else is allowed to eat...

P.s. I hope I was clear that no one expects to get the product "faster", just get it according to the time ordered more or less. I think it's not too hard to see the unfairness of the situation, regardless of all other factors.

I'm order #174 and still got no shipping info. Maybe cause i'm international (canada)?
I preordered on the first day it was available.

Yes, read the thread. Apparently for some reason it's way too difficult for the Xim team to ship a small package through the US/Canada border. I mean after all, there are like, 200 planets between the two countries, you know what I mean? Just wait for Nasa to develop faster spacecrafts... No other explanation has been given for this and in summary we're getting a finger instead of a controller :P

You have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. If you have a problem with how orders are being handled, we have no problem sending you a full refund.

We are working as hard as we can. We don't need to hear your crap. Please, lose the attitude.

Derektm, your team's efforts are appreciated and above comment was made to be treated more as a joke so no need to go all soup-nazi on me, lol.

On a more serious note, I think it's just a matter of respect for customers to at least give a good reason for the delay to international shipments to shut all of us "international naggers" up once and for all. You are in no way and form "obligated" to give us any information, but it shows that you respect us as customers and even though the demand for your product is very high at the moment you still care about every single buyer. With that said, put yourself in our shoes and see whether saying something like "international orders have too much paperwork to do right now" sounds more like a reason or more like an excuse. It's worth repeating once more, it's all about respecting the value of customers, so of course you can just say this "background stuff" is non of our business, but telling us what the actual problem is would increase customer confidence in your company and not let us feel neglected and treated differently than domestic customers (something that given the current demand I feel you guys may not really care about).

To everyone else jumping on the bandwagon reminding us all what a great product this is and how the team should be complemented for their efforts: I agree too and that's why I, along with everyone else, have ordered the darn thing. No one is disputing the technical genius of the team, but having come up with such a great product never discounts the fact that all customers are valuable.

If we're all standing in the same line (as is the case with pre-orders everywhere) but some are to be favored more than the others and are jumping the line to be serviced first, perhaps good reasons should be given to the rest of us. Given good reasons why would we complain?

This is all just common sense, so let me know if I'm talking BS.

I understand your concern but the point is, the options for international shipping are limited. It doesn't take long to decide which company they are gonna use for shipping their international orders. The question is, what's the hold up? It's not like we're waiting because they have chosen a safe way to send the packages to us, that would mean that they have in fact shipped the product and therefore could provide the tracking number to us. They have not yet even shipped the products and that is rather puzzling....

Usually an eBay int'l order is sent out by airmail, in my case (Mexico) I get my items 2-3 weeks after they send them and theres always the posibility of damage or loss. This is ok when you're buying just some t-shirts or a bunch of CDs but when you're buying something a little more expensive, like an XIM2, I prefer to wait a little longer as long as they make sure that the package will arrive fast and safely. It's not like we paid $9 USD for shipping like on eBay.

Q: Why hasn't my international order shipped yet when I ordered first?
A: So far we have only shipped US orders. International orders will begin shipping as soon as possible. We are still working with our shipping carriers to ensure the best possible and least timely delivery methods.

Rather disappointing news with regards to international shipping. I really don't see what the problem is....can't you guys just do it like an ebay store does it?...it's being done every second across the globe, shouldn't be any different than shipping domestically with the exception of customs which is the client's problem not yours.... ???

I agree that the least xim 360 team can do is give us some information on how things are being handled with respect to international shipments. I admit I have not shipped anything from the US to an international client to know how much of a hassle these "custom forms" are, but having shipped stuff internationally before(from Canada) I find it hard to believe that these forms will take any more than 5-7 minutes to fill up. If there's more involved, then let us know.

Whether or not this is the case I believe we as customers deserve more information from xim 360 team.

Do you mean the Christmas thread? I didn't find anything about customs forms in there, but in any case wouldn't we get a tracking number as soon as it ships anyway? The delays in customs happens after it's shipped and the tracking number is given to us.

Here is the post I found

Thanks, well let's hope they're shipped soon.

Hey guys whats your plans for international orders...you appear to be passing over them at the moment....you're not really going to leave us till last are you??   :'(

Ahaaa....just realized the problem with international shipping...just read in a previous thread about those darn customs forms....all power to your elbow guys..  ;D

178 from Canada and haven't got anything yet. Can't see why international orders are given less priority considering we actually even have to wait for a long shipping as well. Makes sense to send international ones first if the real order is not to be followed.

Thanks for your responses snooze.

To clarify my question 3:

I read on the internet about OBsIV's wiimote
http://obsiv.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!948789BF56FAF394!177.entry

Now, since Xim 360 is able to work with any input device recognized by windows, it should theoretically be possible to get a ps2 to usb adapter, hook it up to a pc and have windows recognized the PS2 controller as a native windows gamepad. In such a case, the only thing that may limit such activity is the Xim software.

So does the software allow such mapping of a "pc gamepad" to the xbox 360 controller?

Thanks!
