I haven't been keeping too up to date but I'm wondering, I noticed a lot of the third party PS4 controller don't have a port for a headset/microphone. Is in game chat just a feature that will have to be skipped this generation?

Yes they will ban XIM users and you will be sent to Ubisoft jail. Same as last year and the year before that.

I got to be entirely honest. Apex as it currently is feels great and I'm not sure what people are having issues with.

If an update is made, I really hope it's an alternate/optional ST that's standalone from the current one.

Not on PS4. Almost everyone here is using the Xbox ST on both consoles and a few are using the TF2 one. What about you?

Ah okay. I haven't played Apex on PS4 in like a year. Been using the Xbox ST so that's probably why I haven't noticed any change.

XIM APEX Discussions / Re: High FPS Slow Sens Apex Legends

Has nothing to do with XIM and everything to do with the game engine. If you plug in a controller without a XIM with uncapped FPS you will experience the same sensitivity slow down.

After countless hours of testing I came to the conclusion that shooters felt better on Xbox compared to PS4 before I even knew of the stick resolution difference.

Definitely going Xbox Series X this gen.

Was planning on getting a Series X anyway but this just confirms it.

The people who are great players when using XIM typically and almost always are good PC players. If you have bad positioning, awareness, game knowledge the XIM will not magically turn you into a good player.

Your headset must be connected to your controller, not your PC for push to talk to work. XIM was never designed to support PC.

Game developers don't have much to work with concerning PlayStation stick resolution so they generally have to make compromises. We can see it in the translators that are trained.
But do you remember what the PS3 and Xbox 360 stick resolutions were? I'm just wondering if there was a jump in stick resolutions when we went from PS3/360 compared to PS4/Xbox One.

My question for OBsIV or mist or anyone that happens to know, when we jumped from PS3 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One and PS4, was there an increase in stick resolution at the time? Does anyone happen to remember what it was?

I ask because with the newer consoles coming out, I'm curious if Sony will have their new controllers match at least current Xbox One stick resolution. I've tried multiple times to get the same game on both PS4 and Xbox One to feel identical, but Xbox always feels better and I suspect stick resolution is why.

Respawn said nearly the same thing word for word a year or so ago for Apex Legends. Nothing happened. It was more than likely said to keep those who think it's a wide spread issue (it isn't) happy and from continuously complaining.

Yeah when you scroll down on the key binding screen in Manager you can swap to secondary key binds and set one there.

It's only day 2. Pretty sure anyone that actually wants one will be able to get one by the time it releases.

XIM APEX Discussions / Re: block inputs
« on: 01:12 PM - 09/16/20 »
Pretty sure inputs made with the controller will always be registered with the console. The XIM emulates the controller, so really whenever you press a button on your keyboard that's binded to "A", it is reading it as the controller.

So no, I'm pretty sure you cannot stop inputs made with the controller from being registered by console.
