I'm high masters on xbox and basically use the exact same settings.  Here are the few areas the settings are different:

1) for tracer and sombra, I use the old aim assist with a window of 60 - helps me stick to targets like glue;

2) I use a window of 28 not 25 for everyone else;

3) I don't use boost at all; and

4) I have a separate aux profile for sym and mei because I don't want the right mouse button to have a different sensitivity.

Also, I tend to use around 18 or 19 at 3200.

Finally, I used to be a huge logitech guy, but @#$%, I love the new Zowie S-2.

For me, the big change that made me finally love APEX was the SAB feature.  I love keyboards and this was a gamechanger in Overwatch.

Our Betas are really stable. It's in Beta just to get feedback on the features themselves, not for their stability.

Ok so I went ahead and downloaded the Beta firmware and tried out the new Simulate Analog Behavior feature and I think it tremendously helps with games that have aim assist. I didnít realize that the bad aim assist was being caused by my keyboard. I thought it was just the game that had bad aim assist. Once I enabled the SAB setting and put the value to 55 (for Black Ops 4) it was a night and day difference. The SAB setting should most definitely be added to the retail firmware of the XIM Apex.

To be honest, I feel like SAB is the best improvement that I've seen to Xim since I started using the product.  If you use a keyboard in Overwatch, this update makes aim assist so much easier to navigate, particularly on characters that move while aiming and shooting.  So much more of a difference on McCree and soldier than on widow, for example.  Personally, this update made Ashe playable for me.

Any testing been done to determine what an acceptable analog behavior setting is in Overwatch?

120 works very well for me.  By the way, if you are a keyboard user who plays Overwatch, you need to upgrade to this firmware asap.  It finally makes apex feel good on Overwatch.  I think all you Nav / G13 people should be prepared for some tough competition this season from us keyboarders.

For sombra, tracer, and soldier, I use 38 AA window and legacy aim assist.  For widow, 2 AAW, and 90 ease in.  For Ana, 18 window, 60 friendly AA, 90 ease in.  For McCree, 30 AAW, 90 ease in.

For Ashe, I can't hit anything and am still working on settings.

100 AA strength on all characters, btw.  3200 dpi, 100 sensitivity hip, widow 33.5 ADS sens, Ana 55 ADS sens.  No sync on all characters.  No curves.

I've spent so much time tweaking my settings on Apex and still am not super happy with them.  I've tried tons of curves as well.  I even, out of desperation, tried all of SaltyWatch's suggestions which turned out to be a waste of time for me.

I love xim but there is something about overwatch that just doesn't work with it too well when compared to literally every other game that I've used with xim.  Hell, even the unsupported mass effect profile that i used before an official one came out felt better than the Overwatch apex profile which is sad since overwatch is probably my favorite game.

Anyway,  if someone in Masters or above has a really good profile for Ashe that they want to share with me, I'd really appreciate that.  My accuracy with her is around 30% whereas my McCree and Ana are high 50s and widow is low 50s.  I need some advice on her.

XIM APEX Discussions / Re: Overwatch Xim Apex Settings

Please let this thread be about settings only

AMEN!

Funny how all these OW threads turn into heated debates or arguments. I'm sure I speak for quite a few XIM ignorant people when I say we come to thread titles like this for settings not e-pen comparisons.

Yeah, to be honest I wish there were a way to just block Saltywatch.  There is obviously something not right with him and over the last few months, he has essentially bullied his way into every single overwatch thread, changed his mind and settings constantly, attacked anyone who disagrees with him, tried to dominate the conversations, refused to listen to anyone, etc.

The entire thing is very unpleasant and really takes away the enjoyment of what would otherwise be an interesting conversation about settings and experiences with other xim users.

Thank you for taking the time to post your results.  I am going to get this keyboard but wanted to make sure it worked first!!  Corsair is knocking it out of the part with great keyboards.

I can't seem to install the file using my mac for some reason.  Is a PC required for the experimental SAs?  Mac won't unzip the file.
Steady Aim experiments were made to improve games where aim assist can't be disabled. Overwatch can not only lessen the strength of aim assist but also disable it completely. Not sure what you hope to gain from it.

I want to use a curve that someone posted using that SA experiment.  I understand that curves work differently under SA3 than under the gold firmware.  That is what I hope to gain but if I'm wrong and the curve would be the same under gold and SA3, please let me know.

Nvm. I was able to install SA03 without losing current configs.

Just wanted to say I've had over 60 hours of game time now on the .4 version and no previous version even comes close to how great this is.  My hitscan characters are off the chart with about 20% more accuracy than before.  Had a 21 kill streak with tracer one of my weaker characters.  Feels really good now.  Need to reduce sensitivity by about 30-35% from what was previously used in the .3 version to make it work.  My genji is still a disaster but that has nothing to do with the new ST...

What sens are you playing on currently? Also, how much aim assist on non hitscan chars?

5.75 hip, 12k, no steady aim, no curve, no angle snapping, 65% scoped on both Widow and Ana, 95% AA on hitscan

It's unacceptable that Mist is refusing to support this game. This is not how customer service was described in the Xim4 product description.

I'm severely disappointed, to say the least.

There is a book called "The age of entitlement: how wealth breeds narcissism" that you may find an interesting read while waiting for the ST to be released after the beta is over.

Enri9210 - there is a thread on nothing but overwatch settings.  Take a look at that thread and you will see what works for other people.  Lots of good ideas there.

I'm having no issues with PS4 Pro when using a controller.  Xim is horrible though after the patch.  I took a video for you:

https://youtu.be/LPCxbWYfe7M

1:41 is me using a controller (ignore up to 1:41 - i can't edit).  I switch to the Xim 4 at 1:50
I switch back to the controller at 2:05.  I switch to the Xim again at 2:30.

So I'm a Mccree/ Soldier main.

I use in game
Horizontal: 100
Vertical: 100
Aim Assist: 75-95 (Depending on how @#$% im feeling xD)

Aim Smoothing: 0 (This was added in the most recent patch)
Aim Technique: Exponetial Ramp

I use in Xim4
38.5 sens

No Curve
No Steady Aim
No Boost

I use a Razor Dethadder black at 400 DPI
That's where I differ from a lot of others on this page.
I use a Magic the gathering Mat for my mouse pad. So I have plenty of space to move my mouse and like having to move my mouse 4-5 inches to do a 180 and 8-10 to do a 360 ha.

I've always played PC shooters with low DPI makes all the movements feel smoother.

Any way on my main. I bounce from 3100-3400 pretty frequently. I play with masters mostly though.

Super excited about this aim smoothing patch. Made this whole purchase much more pleasing.

that cannot be, your mouse must run on more than 400 dpi
that would be equal to 3200 dpi on 5 HIP with which you need to move your mouse around 40-50cm or more to do a 180į turn

your mouse has most likely no onboard memory and falls back to maybe 1600 dpi on default when no pc driver is running in the back telling the mouse to go 400 dpi

Yeah, Razer requires software to change the dpi.  On my DA, which isn't the elite model but the one before it, the default is 1800 dpi and that is what you will get on Xim irrespective of what you set it to before you plug it into Xim.  I've since moved to the G Pro which I like a lot better though.
