Don't have a series X so i can't test but i played the game before on previous gen consoles at 60fps as well as 240+ fps on pc with a proper monitor and obviously the game always felt @#$% on consoles. Aside from the weird aiming characteristics never feeling right aside from xim 4 + linear way back which i liked, the other thing that was always a both was the massive input lag i think it was anywhere from 70-90ms. I reckon that 120hz support is cutting that in half so the more responsive feeling should make M+KB gameplay substantially better now. Anyone chime in on that who has played it at 120hz on the X?

So after playing with these settings for a day i went back to the original linear ramp curve, feels better to me. I see what others have said how this one feels floaty probably because of the boost.

3
This curve actually reminds me of one i used for xim 4, the drop off at the top end makes it so its impossible to hit the turning speed cap which i feel makes me play more consistently, and the boost ensures the deadzone at the start is eliminated when you use linear ramp without aim ease in.

I use 3200 dpi so i just multiplied your sens by 3.75, it seems to be close to 34cm/360 or so which is what i use on PC. I also usb 80 SAB as i feel that it helps the aim assist feel better, same reason i use 3200 dpi it makes the AA work for you more. Currently using 100 AA and 25 AAW, the other linear curve i was using 50 AAW, but i think for more precise hitscans at medium to longish range lower window is better while higher window is better for close up like tracer as you're more likely to fall out of the window at close range.

I'm not one to judge but isn't this basically cheating in a sense that using a mouse on PC with aim assist is like using a soft lock aimbot? I've never tried but it sounds like there are shortcomings. As a veteran fps player on PC it just makes more sense use the mouse natively with no aim assist at 240hz if your PC is strong enough.

Just a PSA to anyone that may not know but the ease in setting is really reserved for linear ramp only. Back when it came out linear ramp had a weird deadzone and ease in was added like a band aid fix to it where around 30 ease in would eliminate that deadzone at the start of the stick tilt.

Testing it now however on xbox i can't tell a difference, so maybe the deadzone was fixed, or its more noticeable on ps4 because of the 8 bit vs 16 bit analog stick resolution difference between the consoles. Either way I wouldn't play with ease in at all unless on linear ramp.

For aim assist ease in a setting of 0 SHOULD behave like legacy mode on. AAEI just adjusts the stickiness of aim assist depending on how well you're tracking some target. At a setting of 100 if you are tracking a target well you'll feel the great amount of that stick provided your AA strength is also high. Technically 100 AAEI would benefit flick heroes best because as you flick towards a target AA stick will ramp up to the maximum as your flick approaches the target and will stop your crosshair on target so you can shoot. Lower AAEI is better for tracking heroes like tracer since you want to have your aim be glued to whatever you're targetting.

In short theres no perfect setup especially since the real perfect setup would be individual settings for certain characters because of how they all play, but that brings a problem of lack of consistency getting used to one sensitivity like how it is on PC where you just run one sens for everyone. Between linear, expo, and dual zone, DZ was the first and i think most players stuck with that. It does lend itself well for the widest variety of characters because it gives you precision in the 0-90% stick tilt range and higher turn speed at the last 10%. This is of course talking about controller users.

For XIM it becomes more complicated, but aside from custom generic configs I'd say expo is probably the best when you set it up to really lean into exploiting the aim assist in this game, which you really should try to do. I can't think of any other game that feels worse using a xim than Overwatch, where disabling AA entirely just handicaps you as a player, where other games that feel much more like the PC versions of the game can be played fine with or without AA depending on preference.

Hmm, maybe im doing something wrong then? I have a samsung galaxy s8, and i have the same hotkeys too, but it only swaps when i have the app open.

Could be it, i have an iphone 11 and i just have the xim manager in the background and it works fine. Maybe check your background app refresh settings, if the app isn't allowed to update while its in the background that could be it.

7
I think its easier to just have multiple configs in xim. I use the F keys to swap between configs and just color code them ie purple xim lights = widow/ana, red = ashe

This can work too, but the disadvantage to this is u need the app open to swap config's, and if u have many config's it could get confusing trying to swap between them. If u dont mind swapping config's, then u can do this, but if u get annoyed with it or if u flex and play multiple different heros, it can be easier just to have a sniper contig, and a normal config that will work with everyone :) All down to personal preference.

No need to have the app open, on the first config page you can set a hotkey to swap to that config on the fly i use the F1-F12 keys for this.

Trying out these settings now after not playing for a year or so. Not bad so far.

One thing i'd recommend for the ADS heros (ana, widow, ashe) turn scoped sensitivty to 100% and use AUX in the XIM. Take your base sensitivity value and multiply it by 0.614 for Ashe and 0.452 for Ana/Widow. The game uses a FOV of 93
on console and to get as close to 1:1 while scoped you use those values.

Game Support / Re: Overwatch Aiming doesnít feel right

Been away for awhile and was thinking of getting back into the game. As i understand it they still love to push updates to the game that messes with aim. Where do we currently stand for settings expo ramp or linear ST?

General Discussion / Azeron Keypad

Anyone been using this for a good while now, worth getting to use over a keyboard? Also for PC use is it possible to do a combo press like Shift + 1 as an example on keyboard or it doesn't support key combinations like that and i'd be limited to the 24 buttons the compact comes with?

I see they really increased the price a lot on the next batch of orders so i may hold off until it comes down as $240+ is way too much for a controller.

XIM APEX Discussions / Re: Dualshock V1 vs v2

I have a question related to this, does the input lag being worse on the DS4 v2 in wired mode affect the delay when using the apex or is it irrelevant? The DS4 V1 could connect by wire but it still used bluetooth to communicate with the console and that is when the delay with the controller is at its lowest.

How does the apex receive its inputs does it just read straight from the mouse/kb and the controller is just there for the console to recognize that it has an active controller connected?

UPDATE:

I'm now using 100 aim assist ease in with 60 aim assist window, everything else is the same. I think my problem with  AAEI originally was the window shouldn't be so small for it to work effectively. Just had a game with soldier 49 elims and 23k damage 55% accuracy. I've never had that level of accuracy with soldier before. 40-45% was good, 55% is godlike lol.

Did you tried liner with apex

No i didn't bother, the Overwatch ST is supposed to be 1:1 like linear and it is if you do some turning tests. I did enjoy linear ramp on the xim 4 and i think i tried it on the apex some months ago and found it not the same at all. I may look into it again with apex but i'm actually at the point where i'd rather just pick up and learn the game with a controller using linear ramp and play on the oled tv instead of tryhard on my gaming monitor with a mouse/kb lol

I wish they would add a vertical sync toggle in the menu like some other games do for consoles ie RB6 Siege, rocket league, yeah it introduces tearing but you reduce input lag significantly, 1-2 frames minimum, sometimes more. Would make the game much better to play all around. I've seen people asking for it too on blizzard forums, but it looks like they REALLY do not give a crap about this game on console, hell they hardly care for the PC version with how long a "certain" meta has been alive, its all about OWL money for them. I remember how fun the game was in 2016, then 2017 hit, OWL showed up and things started to slowly slide downhill. Makes me wish they'd pull the plug on the esports like they did for heroes of the storm. OW is really an awful game for esports too many variables, cheap tactics, not the most skillful game either. CS:GO is the pinnacle of fps esports, and though it's not my cup of tea (i prefer watching starcraft 2 personally) , at least its a fair game with no stupid meta bs.

I use the same  settings that you use but with 30 hip

I've actually thought about this, i might increase the sensitivity a bit maybe to 25 even though i like to keep things similar to PC the slow down effect you get from being in the aim assist bubble somewhat brings me to a crawl, but im not sure. I could also maybe lower the window down some to 10 or 15 but  i just found that 30 works really well across most heroes.

Legasy mode off
25
75
Try this itís really good

I dont know what 25 and 75 means

25 window and 75 aim assist ease in?

I honestly really don't like AA ease in, having a variable aim assist strength based on how well you're tracking targets seems like a good way to stay inconsistent. Having aim assist always be the same strength when on a target works better imo. There is the issue of your crosshair getting tugged to other enemies that cross your path when you're aiming at someone, but this is where having a smaller window size helps.
