When you hit max level for the Auger, there is an operator mod that enables it to do 2 burst shots. It's pretty good.
I plan to try it, though I'm not sure it's necessary as the Auger fires very quickly. If it can one-burst headshot though, it's a no-brainer.

How have you got all this stuff unlocked so quickly? Wasn't the beta only a few days long, and the game's only been out a week or so?!?

I played the crap out of the beta to test all the weapons.

And since it's gone live last Friday I've put in over 24 hours of play time. It would be more if I didn't have other things to do lol.

I'm liking the semi-automatic rifle (can't recall the name), it reminds me of Scouts in Destiny. A little sneaky RF action to avoid button-mashing and it's a sledgehammer at mid to long range (my preference).

That said, it's hard to be pass up the ICR as a solid all-rounder. Quickdraw and almost no recoil makes it a very forgiving weapon. I've avoided CoD MP in part because the gear gap stacks the odds in favour of vets over noobs, but there's no reason to complain here.

I've just unlocked the KN-57 and will take it for a spin tonight. VAPR with silencer sounds right up my alley too.

Semi-auto: are you talking about the ABR? If so that's my favourite gun in the game. The base model is great, but when you unlock the operator mod it makes it into a full auto that accelerates over time. Holy mother of god it's a beast!

ICR: it's a great gun but without Stock it's very hard to pre-aim with, which is why I eventually moved on.

KN-57: It's become my new favourite AR. I recommend you slap a grip on it as the recoil can be a bit much for those medium to long range engagements. It has a bigger mag and more damage than the VAPR.

Go to settings and enable the advanced options.

Ok I watched Exclusive Ace's latest analysis video, and there's been two huge revelations:

1) When you combine a suppressor with long barrel (GKS and VAPR only), the suppressor used to negate much of the long barrel's benefits in BO3. Not so in BO4 - apparently it has minimal impact! So you benefit from the extended range AND you can stay off the radar. Amazing.

2) Suppressors in general reduce range by a much smaller margin compared to BO3.

So in summary:

If you have the option to stack suppressors with long barrel, do it.

If your gun has the option to equip suppressor, don't feel afraid to use it. BO4's suppressors are like no other in COD history.

No problems. I always thought the GKS was average, until I unlocked Long Barrel 2 and was blown away.

By the way, even though I recommend that everyone needs to experience the insanity of the Rampart 17 with High Caliber 2, my personal favourite AR is the KN-57. Why? Because my play style - like many others - is heavily centred around pre-aiming like crazy and strafing out of corners. KN-57 is only one of three assault rifles with Stock, and you can max it out to 65 bullets in a mag! It's insane, you can pre-fire for days. If you want crazy kill feeds, KN-57 is the gun for the job:)

Thanks piiwii, much appreciated!

I've hit level 10 and unlocked the Rampart, but the recoil is dooky. I'll stick with the ICR until I'm more familiar with the game mechanics as ICR is noob-friendly. Any recommendations for Optics, or is it user preference?

Another couple of levels and I'll unlock the GKS, thanks for the recommendation. Not a huge fan of the MX9, I find myself stuck just outside its range more often than not.

I've stuck with Stim shot for now - does Body Armor regen?

I'm using Scav and Gung-Ho looks like the right choice. Not sure about Perk 3 though... I'll take a look at Crash, but I like to radar whore and have played mostly as Recon McDudeyblokefella.

ICR and Vapr are best guns in the game atm so just use those. You honestly can’t do bad with them
Ta, I'll check out the Vapr.

I forgot to mention, you'll need the Grip on the Rampart to control that recoil:)

Optics - the Elo sight is really nice, but not available on all guns.

Body Armor - no it doesn't regen, after the first stim it's gone. Another reason why it's not that great of a pick.

As for Scav - yes I'd love to run it too as it's ultimately more convenient compared to Crash but it takes up a Pick 10 slot so it's hard to justify sometimes!

I'm obsessed with Treyarch COD's and maintain pages of notes and spreadsheets analysing things like time to kill, bullet drop off ranges, recoil patterns, sprint out times etc. I sit there for hours analysing and thinking, play testing...haha! Anyway let me impart on you my thoughts:

1) People are calling it a more tactical COD, and it is, but don't confuse this with playing slow. You still need to play as aggressively as ever. I made the mistake of playing this like Rainbow Six Siege during the beta and couldn't figure out why I wasn't able to do well until I stopped and returned to my old way of playing COD.

2) SMG's - everyone will recommend the MX9, because it's a good all rounder. My personal favourite is the GKS because it's a laser beam and can compete with AR's in terms of range, so it's like the best of both worlds. I'm always a big fan of SMG's that bridge the gap between SMG and AR, this is basically the equivalent of the Razorback from BO3. But be warned - while the MX9 works perfectly fine in its default state, the GKS only comes alive once you unlock the Long Barrel 2 attachment so some grinding will be needed.

3) For assault rifles, everyone is waxing poetic about the ICR. It has its virtues, but because it doesn't have a lot of power you need to make sure all your shots hit. Because of this, I recommend the Rampart, which is unlocked at level 10. It's by far the most powerful AR in the game and hits like a truck so even if you miss a few shots it doesn't matter, and believe it or not the High Caliber 2 attachments makes every shot above the chest a headshot...seriously.

4) People will talk about the virutes of body armour and STIM - but these have been nerfed massively since beta so if you see anyone recommending this, it's generally old advice. STIM is still good though, but not a crutch.

5) Perks - Gung Ho is REALLY powerful, especially if you're using rushing / hip firing weapons like SMG's. It massively reduces the sprint out times. It's easy to test - while sprinting, press the Shoot button (without ADS'ing). Watch how quickly you break out of a sprint! It's the only perk in the game I consider a borderline crutch for certain guns / play styles.

6) Make generous use of the slide mechanic. Black Ops 3 was all about jumping, this game is all about sliding.

7) Every gun in the game comes with one less mag than previous COD's. In the past you'd have to run Scavenger to avoid constantly running out of bullets...but there's a Specialist that has a free "Scavenger", his name is Crash. It saves you a perk slot!

Depends how the look mechanic in this game is. They tend to have a terrible mechanic with slow speeds, strange deadzones, and acceleration. I'm hoping this game is different.

Given their history, and the fact that RDR2 still has tap to sprint, I'm not hopeful. These guys are incompetent when it comes to designing good controls.

I set up Tab for inventory on main hip config.

Then set up Tab for Aux config with a 400 delay. Then check Toggle and uncheck inherit. (Make sure to check toggle and use a 400 delay or it won't work using the same key)

Set:
Left Mouse Click: Square
Right Mouse Click: X
Forward Mouse Click: Triangle

Doing it this way no Aux buttons interfere with my main buttons and you can use the same key to toggle into inventory and it will switch to Aux file automatically because in my case I use Tab for both inventory and Aux profile.

*Edit
I should mention I use this mainly in Blackout to manage inventory. I find it easier than using UP on dpad for me.

I was thinking of doing exactly the same. Great minds think alike:)

Ok here's how you do it. Swipe to the side and create a new Auxiliary mapping. Call it anything, I've called it "Mouse Cursor". Assign it a binding key that you're not using for anything else, such as F. You can choose to make it a toggle, however if you do, you MUST set a deactivation key.

Finally, scroll down, and select the "Left Stick" checkbox as pictured below:

Yes I just tried it.

Use a modifier key then set it to swap sticks. It works quite well actually.

I'm really curious to see whether Wooting works as it is right now.

Even if xim finds a work around, this is likely a losing battle.  The problem lies in their ignorant belief that xim raises the skill ceiling.  Belief and reason are irreconcilable.  See you on Blackout.

I don't agree. It's not a losing battle. Epic has been too aggressive and will scale this back in time, and together with OBsIV's further obfuscation work, the problem will be gone soon enough. I see nothing to worry about.
