XIM 4 Discussions / Curves with decimal values.
« on: 10:05 PM - 08/18/17 »
Hi there,

I have noticed that curves won't save if you set the value of a curve point to anything other than a whole number or a 0.5 value. If you set it to let's say 11.6 and then restart XIM manager, the value will have defaulted back to 11.5.

If I set a curve to have .6 values, it generates the same exact curve code as a curve with .5 values.

Hopefully that makes sense, but is this behavior on purpose?

I can feel the difference in game between a curve that is .5 and .6 but the curve codes are exactly the same.

Tested both these mice and they work great with the XIM 4  :)

Sorry if this has already been posted but has anyone noticed the new surround sound options on the Xbox One?

One of them should be there by default called "Windows Sonic for Headphones" under settings, Display & Sound, Audio Output and Headset Audio. You also should enable the checkbox for virtual surround sound.

Another one seems to be enabled by downloading an app from the Windows Store called "Dolby Access". This enables "Dolby Atmos for Headphones" which appears in the same area as Sonic.

When trying both of these, you should disable any surround effects that you may already have in place. For example, those with Astro Mixamps, make sure to hit the Dolby button to disable Dolby Surround otherwise you will end up running double surround algorithms and it will sound awful. You should also set the Mixamp to it's core mode (so it doesn't do any of it's own processing on the sound to make footsteps louder and stuff like that).

After trying both, I'd have to say I prefer Windows Sonic for Headphones more because it sounds more realistic, rich and it is alot easier to figure out where sounds are coming from.

Dolby Atmos sounds a bit unrealistic and there is more distance between you and the sounds so it is tougher to immediately figure out where the sound is coming from.

But IMO both options sound better than using the Astro Mixamp's built in Dolby Surround.

Is there a problem with the restore config option on the XIM4 Flash program?

Before I used to have no issues whatsoever backing up and restoring configs but now whenever I go to restore a config the flash program will crash with Windows saying it has stopped running?

Just reporting that the new Razer Lancehead Tournament Edition works great.  :)

Just wanted to mention that the Razer Diamondback Chroma mouse is compatible.

Just letting anyone wondering know that the Finalmouse Scream One is compatible with XIM 4  :)

And just like that, before the new G Pro even releases, Logitech shoots out another new mouse:

Logitech G403 Prodigy Wired OR Wireless Gaming Mouse

If people thought the G Pro was pretty much just a G303 with better shape, then this one might better float your boat.

Here is a early review from a member on OCN who got sent a review copy I guess, lots of details and pictures:

(old post)
So it seems there is a new Logitech mouse coming down the pipeline.

So far the mouse has been pretty "under wraps" so you will not see any articles about it around on the net. Basically the rumors started when some CS GO pros began talking about a new "g100s" like mouse with a new sensor (most likely Logitech's 3366 found in the most popular XIM-friendly mice: G502, G303 and G900). There is some discussion going on about the mouse over on the Overclock.net forums:

Here is one of the leaked pics:

Definitely has a safe and friendly G100s shape to it. Should be a pretty popular mouse among XIM users once it hits stores because finally Logitech has listened and will release a non-spaceship "uber-gamer" styled mouse.

Just wanted to give the heads up in case anyone will be mouse shopping anytime soon.

Still no words on any release times or dates, heck, the mouse has yet to be officially acknowledged by Logitech. On Twitter, many people have been pestering Logitech about the existence of this mouse and tweeting them these leaked pics and so far Logitech has been (unsuccessfully) trying to deny the existence of this so called "G200".

Commander / Connection Graph
« on: 05:32 PM - 12/27/15 »
Sometimes the graph in SC will show constant zig zags until it is restarted. Keyboard and mouse still seem to work okay while these zig zags are happening. Does that mean the connection is unstable and not running optimally?

Game Support / Post Your Halo 5 Setups!
« on: 11:54 PM - 11/22/15 »
Thought I would open up a thread where people can share their Halo 5 setups, whether it is just using the stock ST in it's base form or using ballistic curves, boost etc. As we all probably know by now, Halo 5 is a difficult game to find a decent setup.

Recently the new Halo 5 1.3 ST was released and I am pleased to see that the speed has gone back up (similar to the 1.1 ST). The 1.2 ST, while accurate was just way too slow to the point where it was unplayable. The new 1.3 ST is great but it just has a slight feeling of me needing to fight my mouse to get the reticle to go where I want it to (in other words, the ST needs a bit of acceleration to feel right). I then thought of applying the curve I was using with the 1.1 ST and had good results with.

Well, I ran a couple of FFA games which are a total pain in the butt to win because of how many players are packed on a tiny map... but both games that I have played with this setup so far I have won by a good margin so I just had to rush here and post this for others  ;D

Here is my current setup (keep in mind that you need the newest Halo 5 ST v1.3 (when you click on the middle of the XIM4Manager where the game art is being displayed it should show: Halo5-X1.3*

The curve being used (credit goes to Tuffrabit for his "push against aim-assist curve").

XIM 4 Discussions / DPI/Sensitivity Formula
« on: 05:31 AM - 11/11/15 »
What is the formula for calculating DPI/Sensitivity?

For example, what would 66 sensitivity @1200 DPI be if the DPI was upped to 12000 DPI. Would it just be 6.6 (divide by 10) or is the formula different?

Dividing by 10 doesn't give me the same feeling when running at 12000DPI.

Game Support / PETITION: Give us access to Halo 5 ST v1!
« on: 01:42 AM - 11/06/15 »
Thought I would post this here so that it can be heard more and people have a chance to have their say in the matter. I understand that there are curves out there that supposedly make v2 feel like v1, but I don't want v1! I want to be able to use my own curves on the v1 ST because I was getting great results with it.

Please at least give the option to CHOOSE between the two ST's, what is the hurt in that? Don't get why we are being FORCED to use v2 when there are many here that prefer v1 itself or want to use specific curves on v1.

Anyone else who wants v1 available to us to use post here and have your voice heard!

When I change the ballistics box value to 1.2 (on the HIP page) and 0.6 (on the ADS page) and save it, and then close XIM4 Manager, the next time I open Manager the setting will be reset to whatever it was before. (1.0 and 0.5).

Does the ballistics value box only support saving values in .5 increments?
