Even though Iíve already ďbeen there, done that.Ē Due to all the new setups flying around the forum. I decided to revisit these two topics. So, Iíve spent several hours over the last few days testing out different DPI settings and Sync options. The one thing I didnít do is change Hz. Why? Because 1000hz IMO, is the #1 selling point of Xim Apex. And also, IMO, if youíre not using 1000hz. Youíre not getting the most out of the product. So if you donít have a mouse and mouse pad that works well with 1k hz. Then Obviously, I suggest you get one.

Before I go any further, I just want to be clear, in no way am I saying these are the best settings for you. However, as a veteran of this community and an Alpha Tester of Xim Products, Iím obviously more then just casual user.

That being said, when it comes to playing games on console there are Two primary factors that Iím really anal about. Those are Responsiveness and Aim Assist. These two key factors are extremely important in order to achieve our number one goal, Accuracy!

Responsiveness by definition means - ďBeing able to react quickly.Ē I think for every gamer itís easy to understand why this is so important. When it comes to gaming, not only does Responsiveness help you react quickly, it also helps you react accurately!

This brings us to my favorite topic, Aim Assist. Aim Assist reminds me of my marriage, 90% of the time it feels great, it looks great and things are @#$% near perfect. But then thereís that 10%, where Something has gone a miss and We simply donít see eye to eye. I get thrown for a loop and I have to reflect on what the issues are. Which always brings me to my Upbringing and something my grandfather once told me. Itís not the greatest one liner in the world and it took a lot of maturity on my part to understand it. But what he said was this, ďIf I donít like what I see, I am the problem!Ē

Longer story Shorter, my point is. I like Aim Assist 90% of the time, but that 10% that throws me off or costs me a clutch moment, thats not acceptable in my book! Having the perception that itís a problem and I have to fix it is what brought me back to this topic. So now that weíve come Full circle. Hereís what Iíve learned again! Like I said Iíve been down this road before.

There are some misconceptions IMO around DPI and Aim Assist. Some believe that Aim Assist is Weaker at lower DPI settings. IMO (which is fact to me based on all the testing Iíve completed over the last few years), this is a false statement. I can say with 100% certainty that when using the exact same settings through calculating sensitivity for different DPI values, that Aim Assist feels stronger at low DPI values compared to high DPI values. Not only that but Itís more difficult to maneuver your aiming cursor around in the hit box at lower DPI settings.

On to the testing method...

I set up Three different games with 5 different profiles each.
Call of Duty - Black Ops 4
Battlefield 1 (because 5 is a P.O.S)
Destiny 2 (strongest Aim Assist game on the Planet!)

Each profile rotation looked like this.
No Curves, No Boost, No Steady Aim, No SAB.
1000hz, 1,800 DPI, Common Sync
1000hz. 3,600 DPI, Common Sync
1000hz. 5,700 DPI, Common Sync
1000hz. 7,200 DPI, Common Sync
1000hz. 12,000 DPI, Common Sync

(Before we go any further, I understand Destiny 2 runs at 30fps or less. However, what hasnít been said is Iíve already tested different Sync settings (multiple times) and I will Never EVER use Low Sync with any game because it makes Aim Assist unplayable. And Through trial and error, Iíve narrowed Sync down to either Common or Off. Default feels outdated, unresponsive and Xim 4 like. Maybe itís just me, but Iím all about progress and see no reason to live in the past. Straight up, Xim 4 is dated folks, if you play with Xim 4 type settings then youíre not getting the most out of your Apex and you shouldíve never bought it to begin with.)

I then played 30m. Ea of every profile until I eliminated them 1 by 1. Strangely enough, with all three games, the final Two always came down to 1,800 and 12,000 DPI. So the two on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. It took me awhile to absorb this and determine exactly why this was the case. I knew why I liked 12,000, that was pretty easy, it offered me the most Responsiveness and the best maneuverability within the hit box with Aim Assist active. But why 1,800? Then I realized Two things. #1, was a no brainer and itís why I chose to start at 1,800 as my lowest DPI. Thatís the DPI I always use on PC. It's my perfect sensitivity without Aim Assist and what feels the most accurate for my muscle memory. However, I was still shocked at how well it carried over to Console using Xim. And even though Aim Assist was the strongest when using 1,800 DPI, I still played better with it then all other settings except 12,000. I cannot explain this other then familiarity and muscle memory. So if I were to play without Aim Assist 1,800 DPI would definitely be the right option for me. However, with Aim Assist, thereís no doubt in my mind, 12,000 trumped all. It simply made my aim better when it mattered the most, on target!

Once I was down to Two profiles I then altered two other profiles to test out Sync settings. So my profiles now looked like this for all three games.

No Curves, No Boost, No Steady Aim, No SAB.
1000hz. 1,800 Dpi, Common Sync
1000hz. 1,800 Dpi, Sync Off, Smoothing 4 (Hip and ADS)
1000hz. 12,000 Dpi, Common Sync
1000hz. 12,000 Dpi, Sync Off, Smoothing 4 (Hip and ADS)

I then spent 30 mins. Testing each until I eliminated them 1 by 1 based on my core expectations of Responsiveness and Aim Assist maneuverability until I got down to Two.

1,800 Dpi with Sync Off and 4 Smoothing
12,000 Dpi with Sync Off and 4 Smoothing.

I then tested each for another 30 mins ea. Only one game though, Black ops 4, (sorry was getting a little burned out at this point and my marriage was headed down that 10% road.) So Where did I end up? Right where I began and why I made this thread to begin with. https://community.xim.tech/index.php?topic=49063.0

12,000 DPI with Sync Off and 4 Smoothing is the optimal setup for overall responsiveness and Aim Assist Maneuverability IMO.

However, I would strongly encourage you low DPIaholics to test out 1,800. Especially without Aim Assist. If youíre like me, it will feel really natural to you coming from PC.

In all, Iím glad I went back through this trial and error process and I did learn a few things from it. So with that knowledge, 1st, Iím off to please the Mrs. but then, Iím  throwing in some PUBG and giving it a do-over with 1,800 Dpi. Compared to 12,000. I also realized I need to change the name of my Anti-Aim Assist setup thread to better reflect what my actual intentions are.

Cheers!

This is especially for Battle Royale fans. But is made for anyone who struggles with Aim Assist feeling too strong at close encounters but too weak at longer ranges including sniping.

Here are a few new curves I could use some feedback on. I haven't had alot of time to trial them yet on different games but my first take is that #1 and #2 works best with COD and Blackout. #3 BF games and #4 I haven't tested yet.

These should help with APEX, but I haven't tried yet. I'd suggest using the same code for Hip and Ads, but you can use with just Ads if you chose. You may have to lower your sensitivity 5-10% depending on your setup. You may however, like it as is. That's for you to decide.

For those that have problems copying the codes, I've added the codes separately below the code select box. Copy/Paste EVERYTHING you see.

Thanks for testing!

Game Support / RML - AAA Ballistic Curves (20190810)
« on: 07:33 AM - 08/04/19 »
This is just a thread for storage, so I can free up some configs on my Apex. Of course anyone can use these curves with Apex. That's up to you. They are all Anti-Aim Assist/Response Curves. If you want "MORE" Aim Assist then what's already in the game then you've come to the wrong place.

These curves are Numbered 1-6 with a smooth .1 version added. The lowest number will offer the most AA feel. The Higher the number the more Responsive it will be and the more it will cut through AA. The "Smooth .1" versions will always offer more AA then the Stair step versions.

I believe this curve may improve your experience based on all the complaints I've heard in regards to Aim Assist, laggy input feel, sluggish movement and floatiness with your gaming experience. If you experience any of these issue's then try these out and please leave feedback. It's important for the community and it's important for me to try to help you fix games that I don't even play.

Here's how to apply these curves.

- Copy/Paste the code into the specific config you want, I.E. Hip, Ads, Aux. They're individual codes, DONOT try to paste as a Full Config.

- The more aggressive the curve looks "Vertically" the more sensitivity will feel increased. So you'll have to (more then likely) Lower your sensitivity a little.

- I've numbered them 1-6, this number is a representation of aggressiveness 1 being the least.

Here's a link to the HIP/ADS curves, Please give feedback on which one's you like the best and with what game.

Game Support / Apex RMLegends Advanced Setup (20190810)
« on: 01:48 PM - 07/25/19 »
200190810 - ADDED A NEW CURVE AND REMOVED SECONDARY CONFIG SETUP.
I did this for a few reasons.
#1 - Simplicity
#2 - The curve helps manage Aim Assist on multiple levels. Another words, it's designed to work for CQC, mid range and long range encounters. Atleast as well as it can be within the games parameters.

Hereís my Full Setup:
Apex Legends ST
Default settings (follow mists guide)
In game sens at 7 to keep Aim Assist active.
FOV - 90 (user choice)
12,000 dpi
1000hz
Sync off
HIP - 58
Curve #6 (new version)

ADS - 38
1.25 y/x ratio (Y/X ratio is for recoil control only, so user choice).
Smoothing - 4
Curve #6 (new version)

IF YOU USE A KEYBOARD DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE THE ADS ACTIVATION KEY!

"Everyone is different, a some may like my sensitivities, some will have to set their own. The curves will make Hip and Ads feel much more responsive, this will also increase your sensitivity. So if you're just copy/pasting the curves into your setup then you'll want to lower your sensitivity". - RML

Here's how to Copy/Paste a full Config code!

XIM APEX Discussions / Steel Series Rival 710
« on: 10:08 AM - 06/28/19 »
Anyone using this with APEX? Is it working properly? I'm thinking about picking one up.

10
So, I need some community support here. I've been going rounds with OBsIV for a bit now (years... lol) on how Primary and Auxiliary (AKA Secondary) configs should be identified on your XIM. With more and more games these days incorporating vehicles, parachuting, and strange Run behaviors (slow turn speeds), Auxiliary's are becoming more and more popular with the XIM user. Because of this, I've been requesting a change to the way Secondary's are Identified. You see, I like to know "ALL the time" if an Auxiliary is active and what state my XIM is in.

To be clear, here's the terminology I'll be using below.

PRIMARY CONFIG - This is the color your XIM is while Idle. It's Acknowledging what ST is active so you know you have the correct settings for the game you're playing.

AUXILIARY OR SECONDARY CONFIG - This is ANY secondary config within your Primary config. and stacks like this - Hip>ADS>Aux>Aux>Aux>Aux. Each one of these has it's own color, for example Hip is always Yellow and ADS is always Green.

Here's how it works right now.

Currently when your XIM is Idle it's showing your Primary Config color, acknowledging that you have the right ST for the game you're playing. As soon as you activate a Secondary config (including ADS) your XIM will acknowledge the activation by quickly flashing the color of the Secondary and then reverts back to the Primary config color. OBsIV did it this way so that you can't confuse a Secondary light as a Primary config. The light just flashes the Secondary color and then back to Primary. However, it can be confusing sometimes trying to remember if a Secondary is still active and you can forget your place.

Here's how I'd like it to work.

When a Secondary is active I'd like the XIM to Pulse the Secondary color every few seconds. The Primary color should Breath as normal. This way you always know what Secondary is active and you also won't be able to confuse a Secondary as another Primary.

So why is this important?

Let's put it this way. Say you're playing a BF game and your Primary config color is Red. You have a Secondary profile setup for a vehicle and it's color is Blue. You're in a vehicle and your vehicle Secondary config is active. Which would you prefer?

1. Xim is Red, acknowledging that BF is you're active ST? (This is how it works now)

Or

2. Xim is breathung Red and every few seconds pulses Blue while the vehicle Aux is active, acknowledging that you have BOTH the correct Primary and Secondary settings active that you would want for that vehicle?

Please vote in the poll on how you'd like Secondary configs to be identified. Or feel free to offer other suggestions that may work even better. I'll add to the poll if need be.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and helping the XIM team make this product as user friendly as possible.

Cheers!

Game Support / New Beta Firmware/Manager 20181204
« on: 10:03 AM - 12/10/18 »
I highly suggest this firmware/manager for the latest XIM APEX features.

● Steady Aim: Unlike Smoothing which produces uniform mouse stabilization, Steady Aim forcibly restricts mouse movement into discrete values. Higher values produce a stronger effect. Located under Aim expert settings.

● Boost: Boost artificially inflates the game's aiming stick dead zone. Be advised that values too large will significantly degrade micro-aiming performance. Located under Mouse expert settings.

● Simulate Analog Behavior: For keyboard users, outputs controller values similar to that of the gamer using a thumbstick. Higher values produce a stronger effect. Located under Movement expert settings.

● Deactivation Delay: Similar to a subconfig's (such as ADS) Activation delay, a Deactivation delay waits for the specified time before it's longer active. Located under each subconfig's Activation settings. (This is a MUST for RDR2 players)

● Deactivation Priority: Prior to this change, when a subconfig is no longer active, return to Hip settings occurs. Now, if there is a subconfig between the active and Hip that is currently activated, it is selected (rather than Hip). (This is a Great new feature for Tanks and vehicles. You can now ADS in tanks, etc. without going back to Hip when ADS is deactivated).

General Discussion / BFV for $30.00
« on: 06:40 PM - 12/06/18 »
Wow.. shows just how desperate EA is right now. Brand new Battlefield for $30.00!

Anyone else getting this offer? I couldn't resist for 1/2 off!

Edit: just saw Phil's thread. Mods can close this if they want.

Cheers!

In manager, go to your ADS profile within your COD config. Set the ADS delay to last longer then Any of your loadout ADS transition times. Transition times vary, so set this number high. I personally use 700 (because it's a lucky #), but you can probably go down to 400 and be safe. Now activate Smooth Aim Transition and you're done. Aiming will feel smooth for every weapon, with Every attachment and Any perk.

- Ads delay 400 or higher.
- Smooth Aim Transition [on]

Cheers!

Game Support / Post and Vote for your Fav. BO4 Classes!
« on: 11:36 AM - 11/25/18 »
Post your favs for others to tryout (including me). I'll add to the Poll once they start coming in. Here's mine, 1st a general Idea of fav. guns.

RUN N GUN (In no particular order only class)
- Maddox
- Saug
- Swordfish
- Hades
- Koshka

CORNER CAMP
- ICR
- GKS
- Swordfish
- Titan
- Paladin

My Two fav classes.
#1 - Crash (for never ending ammo) Saug > Reflex > Quickdraw > Grip > Fast Mags > Tac Mask > Lightwieght > Dead Silence (Awesome Run N Gun class), the Saug is Beast but burns through Ammo! Use Scavenger instead of Tac Mask for other classes. I also like to mix it up with Armor instead of Tac mask.

#2 - Prophet (For seeker/frozen Head shots! BWAHAHAHA!!) Koshka (Fully Loaded for RUN 'N' GUN) > ELO > Quickdraw > FMJ I > High Caliber I > Armor (To stand in the pocket) or Lightwieght (To Scramble) > Tac Mask > Light Weight > Dead Silence.  :P

... Or Prophet > Koshka > Quickdraw > Laser > High Caliber > Strelok (mod) > Armor > Dead Silence. (Quickdraw + Laser + Strelok = deadly Immediate ADS accuracy). Zap em with seeker and then shoot em in the face, truly gratifying.

I'm personally killing it with #1 but really enjoying #2. Unfortunately, both of these guns are high rank unlocks.

« on: 07:26 AM - 11/25/18 »
Tired of dicking with curves and other horseshit?

Try this simple setup. Noob friendly and works Great!

http://www.csgosetup.com/dpi-calculator/
Mouse Polling - 1000
BO4 ST
XIM APEX Polling - 1000 (500 if you got the Jitters, Just keep in mind 1000 cuts through AA the best!)
HIP - Sync OFF, sens 69, Smoothing 3
ADS - Sync OFF, sens - 58 (try between 48-60), Smoothing 5
ADS delay - 165
Wing Suit/Vehicle - Sync COMMON, Sens - 12, Boost 1000, Turn Assist Active and assigned to Right Click for ease of use.
