Apparently, this thread just broke so I don't know whether this is legit, but from the looks of the video it seems so.

Old Logitech wheels [with FFB] are now playable on PS4 via homebrew PC app

Developers of open source program GIMX [Game Input MultipleXer] have managed to find a way to interpolate singals sent by old Logitech wheels and send them to PS4 where those wheels are recognized as G29. Full force feedback is present [some older Logi wheels have only vibration support].

So procedure is - plug wheel into PC [linux or windows], app spoofs the signal, and then "G29 signal" is sent to PS4 via USB or Bluetooth.

Supported wheels are:

    Driving Force GT
    Momo Racing Force Feedback
    Momo Force
    Driving Force Pro
    Logitech Speed Force Wireless
    Formula Force GP (vibration only)

Old school Quake-style shooter.
Think anyone can give a hand with a standard translator?
I don't expect this to get an ST, even though this game is exactly the sort of FPS that XIM3 is built to tackle.

General Discussion / TAKEDOWN: RED SABRE (Tactical FPS)
« on: 05:01 PM - 06/07/13 »
Is there a thread for this already?  Searched and didn't find one.

TAKEDOWN: RED SABRE is a tactical FPS, in the vein of old-school Rainbow Six.
A KickStarter game, started by a man who's worked on Ghost Recon and some other shooters.
TAKEDOWN is coming to PC and XBLA this fall.
Supposedly a playable demo will be on display at E3.

Xbox / Halo4 - higher look sensitivity possibly
« on: 08:27 AM - 04/27/12 »
Would be a good thing.
People who've been playing the closed VIP test beta are saying they have to bump down their sensitivity from what they normally play.

This was exacerbated by the fact that I'd cranked my sensitivity way down; at the start, I couldn't hold the reticle on my opponents (felt like the equivalent of a 6 or 7 in Reach, so I turned it down from the default 4 to 3), but this made everything else feel... slower. Things were definitely better by the end of the night, and for people less ancient than me, the adaption will almost certainly happen faster.

-Look sensitivity is higher now. It defaulted to 5 and I had to knock it down to 3.

Xbox / Skyrim Kinect - 'FUS RO DAH!" for Real
« on: 10:35 AM - 04/12/12 »
Ok, this is pretty freakin cool.
I'm actually going to hook up my Kinect to my main 360 now, just for this.
No more taking yourself out of the action to navigate item/skill menus, fiddle with the d-pad quick select, or cumbersome companion commands.

Patch for this releases 'this month'.

Published on Apr 12, 2012 by BethesdaSoftworks

We're pleased to announce that Kinect for Xbox 360 support is coming to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Available for free as a title update slated for release this month, Skyrim Kinect for Xbox 360 Support will feature more than 200 Voice Commands... including the game's dragon shouts.

In addition to Dragon Shouts, the Kinect for Xbox 360 integration offers voice commands throughout the game including Hotkey Equipping, Follower Commands, and all Menus (Items, Magic, Map, Barter, Container, Favorites, and Skills). With Voice Commands, quickly create and load saves during gameplay and access menus and inventories. Skyrim's Kinect for Xbox 360 Support also adds new functionality including special map functions, additional hotkey options, and the ability to sort inventory items by name, weight, and value.

To get an early look at Kinect for Xbox 360 support, watch the video above featuring programmer Ricardo Gonzalez, who put together the preliminary concept for Kinect for Xbox 360 Support during the Skyrim Game Jam.

It's late (early) and can't think of how to do this.

What I have is an old Xbox game, which has a "fast look" option in the control settings.
When you depress & hold down the right analog stick, it increases the look speed greatly.  But it is NOT a toggle mechanic - once you stop pressing down on the right analog stick, the look speed resumes to normal.

I'm wondering if there is a way to make it so the right thumbstick on the Xbox controller is always held down, or turn it into a toggle?  Either way would be good.

Configurations and Requests / SYNDICATE Standard Settings
« on: 12:50 AM - 02/16/12 »
I'm not good at XIM settings, but this scheme made the game certainly playable.
There's acceleration, but it's smooth and predictable.

When I saw Syndicate had in-game control settings for X & Y acceleration, I immediately turned them down to Zero.  But then look movement turned to an absolute crawl, even with the in-game sensitivity at MAX, and trying XIM3 sensitivity at various values all the way up to 100.

Movement in the game feels a bit wonky, but that's the case with any game that has head-bob.

I used a G9X mouse @ 5600dpi for these settings...

XIM3 - Standard Translator
DZ: 8250 - circular
Sens: 2.50
Acc: -0.15
Y-X: 1.00

In-Game Options:

Sensitivity X = Max
Sensitivity Y = Max
Acceleration X = Max
Acceleration Y= Max

Aim Assist = OFF

If anyone wants to improve these settings, that'd be great.
I think this game will produce a pretty decent ST, if one is made.

Xbox / SYNDICATE: 4-player Co-op FPS
« on: 12:32 PM - 02/10/12 »

Sci-fi cyberpunk FPS, reboot of the classic action/strategy game (sure to piss of purist fans of the original, like Shadowrun did.)
Developed by StarBreeze Studios (Enclave, The Darkness, Chronicles of Riddick).
Single player campaign, even bigger 4-player coop experience.
Folks saying it feels like a mixture of Crysis, Deus Ex, Killzone, and some Brink.
Release date: FEB 21, 2011 (11 days from now.)

Anybody feeling this game?  Co-op demo has been up on XBL for a couple of weeks.
Maybe because I've been playing only Skyrim lately, and there's nothing on the FPS horizon (that I'm interested in) until CS:GO and Borderlands2.
Knew nothing about it, hadn't even seen a screenshot. Gave it a whirl. Didn't expect much, really, except that I'd probably delete it off my HDD within minutes of firing it up.

The first playthrough didn't do anything for me - was mostly confused, esp with the busy HUD. Couldn't even figure out how to throw a grenade.  Subsequent plays though, got me hooked.
Love the character customization, skill trees, weapon upgrades, coop play.
Coop play really shines on Hard difficulty; if people are running around going Rambo without healing each other up or taking cover, you soon see them needing a "reboot" from a fellow teamate.
There's still another higher Expert/Insane difficulty, not included in the demo.
Plays fine with a controller, won't need an ST, personally (although I would try one out if it was made.)

Amazon.com has a $20 credit for purchasing this game, making it a $39.99 game basically.  LINK:

Went ahead and preordered/bought it a couple of days ago.  Didn't want to miss out on the $20 credit.
Hope this won't be a turd, lol.
I love (coop/horde mode/terrorist hunt) modes in FPS though, and even more so when there are RPG elements involved.
Trailer looks pretty freakin cool though:

XIM 3 Discussions / Black Ops Control Oddity
« on: 03:11 PM - 04/17/11 »
Just posting this off the top of my head, never thought to inquire about it but I'm curious.
Does this happen to anyone else?
When I call in some killstreaks, like Napalm or Bomber, I pick up the controller to mark the targets.
When I'm finished, and the view switches back to my first person point of view, the screen spins and I'm usually facing an odd angle sometimes up or down.
I'll make another video if need be, but in the first few seconds of this vid after I call in the Napalm, my character looks like he's doing a Micheal Jackson-like 360 dance spin.

(The rest of the vid isn't important, just me ribbing a friend who happened to be on the opposing team.)

0:03-0:06, this happens regularly...

Configurations and Requests / Quake Arena Config
« on: 10:19 PM - 02/13/11 »
Something to get you started.
Not particularly fast, and the acceleration still throws you off a little (most noticeable when using the Rail Gun.)  But it feels much smoother than the XIM2 configs.  Definitely playable until a Smart Config is released.

Standard Config
Sensitivity: 4.00/4.00
Acceleration: -.15
Dead Zone: 7500
Y-X Ratio: .75
Diag Dampen: .15
