IntroHey guys! I know a lot of people are struggling to find their sensitivity and get better aim, and they rely heavily on changing their settings to find the "Lazer" settings that dont exist. Heres some more advise from a pretty good player.
BackgroundI have both the xim and a gaming pc. My main game I play is overwatch, I have made it to top 500 on the xbox using the xim with all 3 roles, and have made it to high masters on native pc with tank, and high diamond with dps/support. My aim isnt the best, but I consider it to still be good!
Advise1:1To start this off, I highly suggest you use 1:1 setting's (that means no fancy aim assist boosting/cutting curves, no ingame setting tweaks, etc.). This will help your brain develop muscle memory a lot quicker, basically your brain will know the exact distance u have to move your mouse to hit a target on screen without having to also think about the speed you move your mouse at.
Low SensA lot of ximmers play on way too high of a sensitivity, and cant ever reach their full potential because of it. The extra speed gained from a high sensitivity on native pc is negated on console because on console turn caps exist. This means if you move your mouse faster than the controller can output (spin the character), then you will just continue to spin at max speed (the turn cap), so there arent really any advantages to running a high sensitivity on console unless thats really your best sens (read the next part for advise on how to find/tune your sens).
Choose the right sensI personally used to play a very high sens, and my aim was bad. Here is how I found/adjusted to my perfect sens.... Look up the "PSA Method" on youtube and follow the videos. It will walk you through how to find your perfect sensitivity. Now, once you find it, stick with it!!!! It might be hard at first, but give it at least a few days of practice before you start tuning it. After a few days go past, you should know how you need to tweak it, whether it be increased or decreased. If your having trouble staying on target, lower it a bit, and if your having trouble keeping up with the target raise it a bit.
Stay relaxedNow this is one of the most important tips I have and dont see it mentioned enough. MAKE SURE YOU STAY RELAXED WHILE YOU AIM! If you panic, your going to start overcorrecting and missing your shots. The lower your sens is, the easier time you will have staying relaxed because the overcorrections you make will be so small that they dont make a huge difference, but if your on a higher sens, you need to be more calm to make sure you hit the shots needed.
ConsistencyMake sure your staying consistent with your setting's and sticking with them to develop the muscle memory, but also make sure your staying consistent with your setup, posture, etc. Also make sure you are playing at roughly the same sensitivity in all your games so your muscle memory isnt constantly having to adapt to each game you play!
SummaryPractice will get you better, but aim is only part of the equation for being a better player. This guide is focused on aim, but also keep in mind that positioning and gamesense is just as important/if not more important than aim

I hope you guys have learned something from this! Its all the stuff I wish i was told when starting out on keyboard/mouse!
