So, short introduction of me, I used to play Apex Legends in season 1.
I was a really good player, top of the Apex Tracker leaderboard and everything, quickly got familiar with the game since its TTK reminds me of Destiny, another game which I was really good at, and also the 3 vs 3 fights and its mechanics.
Then at some point I just stopped playing FPS games in general, just wanted to take a break from the genre and play something more relaxing, like MMO RPG games.
Last season I jumped back into the game since I feel like I want to play something competitive again, and I decided I'd start from Apex Legends! Managed to reach Diamond 3 before the season ended without too many issues but with definitely some effort.
This season I'd like to reach Master. I'm Plat 2 atm and slowly going up, but I'm playing solo.
I feel like this journey could be much more enjoyable and easy with some reliable teammates!
Now I can't tell you I have a really good KD or winrate since I've been growing until now, and I still am.
Let's say I kinda started from the bottom in Season 7 and working my way up.
Oh and last but not least, I'm playing on PC atm, planning to go back on console with the PS5 (when I'll manage to get my hands on it!), so we'll be matched against PC players.
If anyone is interested, please leave a comment with any questions you might have or your IGN! Mine's Enrix.
I play everyday, mostly in the evening / late evening (CET).
Looking forward to any replies, cheers! ~

As the title says, I don't know why the XIM just feels weird with this game.
I can't describe it, but it almost feels like the aim is kinda weird and sometimes shaky...
I am not using anything special, default sync, no curves...
Am I missing something?

Feedback / New Fortnite update
« on: 06:56 AM - 09/25/19 »
So, as many of you already know, Fortnite released a new update today with new Aim Assist and many new advanced controller settings: sensitivity multipliers, curves, boost and AA strength slider...

I believe you guys should check this out and maybe make a new ST if needed? Also you should definitely update the game recommended settings.

Keep up the good work!

Is this feature even recommended or needed?
I've read that it's not recommended on normal mouse pads, but it's definitely recommended on mouse pads with a "special texture".
What do you guys think?

I usually have no problems telling people I play with that I am using a XIM, but almost every time I've been told that I'm cheating. I've been asked some stupid questions, because they believe stupid things.
So I am making this post to prove that it's definitely not true and to clarify some things.
The main problem is ignorance.

First of all, I've been asked "Oh you play on M/KB? So you can do this or that like on PC!"
No. The game still thinks that I am using a controller, so I can't do anything that controllers can't already do. It's not like I have more features or anything. There is nothing I can do that controllers can't.

Now let's talk about Aim Assist. I've been told that I have aim assist with a mouse, and that's definitely OP.
Well let me ask you one question, why do you think PC players don't have aim assist?
Because Aim Assist and a Mouse don't go well together! AA it's just a hindrance because of the accuracy of the mouse.
Sometimes it slows your aim too much and won't let you reach or stay on target. AA is something made for controllers.
We XIM users have to fine tune our settings to deal with it :)

Well then just disable Aim Assist when possible and you will have perfect aim like on PC, right? (Yes, I've been told this as well). Guess what? Just because we are on console, games often have some weird look mechanics with acceleration or stuff like that, to make the use of a controller more comfortable. Of course I don't mean that playing with AA off it's not possible, it just does not give you a PC feeling. Also depends on the game.

Of course using a XIM has its advantages, otherwise why would I use it, but at the end of the day, it does not give you an unfair advantage and it's definitely not cheating. Players who say otherwise are just ignorant or are making excuses.

Hope you enjoyed this read, share your experiences! Have you ever had a conversation like this with someone?

General Discussion / XIM with a hard mouse pad?
« on: 10:30 AM - 11/02/18 »
Just what the title says!
I'm trying to play with a hard mouse pad... just to test it out.
It feels more "reactive" compared to the soft one, but I also feel that my aim is kinda shaking.
Would anyone recommend it? How does it react to aim assist and everything?

XIM APEX Discussions / Question about sensitivity
« on: 03:33 PM - 08/29/18 »
I just wanted to ask this question both for curiosity and to learn more on how the XIM works...
So we are suggested to use max in-game sensitivity then we change the XIM sensitivity accordingly.
But what happens if I decrease my in-game sensitivity and increase the XIM sens to keep up?
Obviously I will have a speed cap, but what else? Is it going to be pretty much the same, or bad things will happen??

Greetings OW players,
Mind sharing your opinions about this setting?
What could be a good value? I know a lower value is preferred for flickshots (McCree for example).
But what about heroes like Soldier or Tracer? I've been using 0 but I don't think it's a good value.
Thanks in advance!

Greetings, XIM Community,
I just wanted to make a guide to help anyone that doesn't know which mouse or XIM settings to use.
Hopefully this will help you to either find your perfect config or at least make you feel comfortable.
This guide will cover some basic topics as well as some "golden rules" of gaming or things that you should know.

First of all, one thing you should always keep in mind is: your XIM is NOT a PC.
Don't look at some of the pro player's settings on PC (like DPI for example) because the XIM does not work like that.

Another very important thing is: every player is UNIQUE.
This means that some settings may be fine for one player, but totally wrong for another.
Don't assume that your settings are wrong just because they are different from the settings of another player (or from this guide!!)
If your config does not give you any problems, stick to it!

Also, in this guide I will skip some basic explanations.
For example, I won't explain what DPI is, I'll just suggest you what to use and why (otherwise it would be too long!).
I want this guide to be relatively quick to read.
So, let's get started!

You should use at least 3000 DPI to guarantee the best mouse movements with your XIM.
Also you should not use more than 4000 DPI (or at least not always), because the quality of your movements will not improve.
Using a very high DPI doesn't work very well with soft mouse pads, as it increases the resolution with which your mouse is scanning the surface, and it could cause issues.
You may also notice Jitter.
Why did I say not always? Because increasing DPI decreases your Aim Assist by a little bit, if you wish to do so.
So you may increase your DPI a little bit and it could help to decrease the Aim Assist!

Sync OFF is not really recommended, but it decreases your Aim Assist a little bit, the same way as high DPI.
It will make your mouse movements a little bit choppy, even if it's hardly noticeable in some cases.

Sync Default will not change your aim assist, and it also has the same behavior of XIM 4.
Choose this one if you're just not sure of what to use!

Sync Common is the way to go for 60 FPS games, and it's the best setting (talking about mouse movement quality).
It also increases Aim Assist a little bit.

Sync Slow is intended for games with 30 FPS.
Not really recommended unless it's really the case to use this one.

It's recommended to not go below 500 HZ, so that should be the value you should consider by default.
Using 1000 HZ could help to decrease Aim Assist a little bit (the same way as DPI and Sync!), but make sure that your mouse can keep up with 1000 HZ.
I'd say go for 1000 HZ if you can, but that's just my opinion.
Search for Zowie Mouse Rate Checker to test your mouse polling rate. Use Chrome for this test!

Sensitivity is something personal.
You should not copy other player's sensitivities just because they perform well.
There are many guides on YouTube on how to find the right sensitivity for you.

Smoothing is meant to reduce mouse jitter or stutter.
It's recommended to not go over 10 smoothing as your mouse movement quality will decrease.
Only use smoothing if you need to!
Increasing smoothing could also increase your Aim Assist a little bit.

A Ballistic Curve is used to reintroduce mouse acceleration in certain mouse speed areas.
I'd say don't use one unless you know what you're doing or what you're searching for :)

End of my quick guide.
If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment and I'll tell you what I know!
Also let me know if you think that I have missed some important topic in this guide, so I can improve it.

Before leaving, I want to give you guys a suggestion:
I already said that every player is unique.
Every player also has good and bad days (talking about performance).
In your bad days, don't blame your setup and don't try to change it.
Always try to make changes to your config if you are feeling well, and don't lose your mind over it!
What I am trying to say is, sometimes if you're missing your shots it's not because your DPI is wrong, your sensitivity is too slow or any other setting is wrong :)

Thanks for reading,
Good luck and have fun!

Special thanks to the YT Channel XIMGameplay.

Hi everyone!
So a few days ago I made a post about smoothing, asking about the right value to use, and I've been told that it's mostly preference.
But I've been trying to change this value recently, without understanding what is going on.
I went from 0 smoothing to 1, and it felt better, then I tried 10, and even 20.
The problem is, I don't feel what is changing about my aim when I change that value.
I don't know the difference between 1, 10 or 20 :(
Could someone try to explain me what does smoothing do, so I can try to find the right value for me?
There is definitely a difference, I just don't understand what's changing!
Thank you!
// Edit
I am using 1000hz and 16k dpi, just for your info

Game Support / Suggested smoothing for XIM APEX?
« on: 10:31 AM - 03/11/18 »
Hi everyone!
Just as the title says, I've been ignoring this setting until now, but I would like to give it a try.
I understand that it could be personal preference, but is there a specific smoothing value that I should try?
I have read on the forum that many players use 3.
Thank you!

Since the update they made today (02/03) this setup is NOT working anymore.
I will not delete this guide just in case it will work again one day, but until then, good luck folks.

Hi everyone, I am Enrix. I am making this guide because I see that a lot of players are having problems with Fortnite BR and asking for help or suggestions on the forum. Keep in mind, please, that this is just my setup. I am not saying that it's the best setup you are going to find, it just works really good for me and you could give it a try. You may like it!

About me:
I am a PS4 player with over 200 wins in squad and duo, with 25% win rate and going up!
You could say that I am not a bad player.

About this setup:
So I've changed my BR setup multiple times until now, tried different configurations and curves, but this is my latest setup, and the one I like the most. I'll probably stick to it.
What you're going to do for this setup to work is: connect your keyboard to your XIM4, and your mouse directly in the PS4! I know this may feel weird for you at first, but let me explain why this works so good (at least for me).
Since your keyboard is connected through the XIM4, every time you move (or press a key), the game will think that you're using a controller, and this means basically one thing: aim assist.
Every time you move your mouse only, aim assist is disabled.
You can use this to your advantage, for example you could stand still for a moment while sniping or using any other weapon to get that smooth aim, on the other side you could get easy kills thanks to the aim assist at close range while moving.

What do you need to do to make this work:
Since the support for mouse/kb is not complete, you'll need to change your DPI in order to change your hip sensitivity.
I use 200 DPI, 0.40 mouse ADS and 0.30 scope sensitivity.
// EDIT //
I forgot to say that I also use 500 polling rate! That's an important detail!
Of course you can change these settings to your liking.
You can find ads and scope sensitivity in the game settings. Change your DPI with your mouse software.

What advantages do you get from this setup?
Like I said previously, you can stay on the move and get your aim assist that will be helpful sometimes (for example in close range encounters), or stand still and use the smooth aim to land your shots without any AA.
Also, since the game detects your mouse, you can bind controls and features to your mouse in the "Input" menu.
Bind your weapons or building choices to access them quickly with a mouse button! Your choice.
You won't need to get used to new buttons because you're still using your keyboard with the XIM4 :)

Won't I need a curve for aim assist?!
I know you're probably thinking that since your mouse is not connected to the xim4, you won't be able to use any curves.
Honestly since I am using this setup, aim assist does not seem intrusive and annoying, instead it feels helpful.
It's more like a "weak" aim assist. I don't know why, probably because of this setup.

That's it from me, let me know if you enjoy this setup, I hope that it will improve your Fortnite BR experience.
If you have any other questions just leave a comment.
Also please don't forget what I said in the introduction, this is just my setup that I suggest to you.
Thanks for reading, enjoy!
