Game Support / BF2042 slow nav controller joystick
« on: 01:18 PM - 12/15/21 »
I'm using a Sony nav controller and the joystick doesn't seem to activate fully like it does in other bf titles.  This becomes very apparent when trying to steer vehicles left/right and up/down.  Its as if its only getting 20% input.

Got 3 navs all do the same, this title only.

Anyone with the same set up having same issue and more importantly,  any fix?

Game Support / Hell let loose XBox Series X
« on: 04:59 AM - 10/05/21 »
Whilst we await an official config for this (assuming they make one of course!), has anyone managed to find a decent profile to use with the game on the Xbox Series X?

I've tried a few ranging from BF1 - BFV, Modern Warfare, Apex ST etc... but all seem quite choppy.

Game Support / Alternative ST for BF4 on PS4?
« on: 05:40 AM - 10/14/19 »
Starting to get back in to playing BF4 as I am finding BF1 and BFV quite boring in comparison, however, the Apex BF4 ST is terrible.  The movement is so floaty its pretty much unusable, regardless as to what settings/sync I use.

Has anyone found an alternative ST that works well with the game, save me having to go through them myself?

Thanks in advance.

Game Support / BFV Command Rose
« on: 06:44 AM - 02/23/19 »
Hello all,

Has anyone managed to set up a fully functioning Command Rose set up whilst using a mouse and a Sony nav controller?  I have followed some previous tips from this forum in making an auxiliary profile, using turn assist etc... but its pretty much hit and miss, and there's nothing more annoying than having enough squad points to be able to deploy a V2 rocket and not being able to  :-)

I am contemplating sticking in a wireless keyboard for the sole purpose of being able to operate the command rose, but it seems a little OTT for something that I ought to be able to control with a mouse and a the nav controller.

If anyone has a working solution, it would be very much appreciated.

Game Support / New BFV ST Vertical Hip
« on: 03:40 PM - 12/23/18 »
I've just downloaded the new BFV ST and set it up accordingly, however, there appears to be a flaw in the vertical movement on hip in that the cursor only moves around half the distance it does when in ADS.  It certainly wasn't like this before.

As it stands, it is virtually impossible to track objects that are moving up/down in hip unless you start messing with the X/Y ratio which you shouldn't really need to do.

Can you have another look at this new ST and remedy the issues.

Hardware Compatbility / Mouse sensitivity
« on: 02:49 PM - 04/01/18 »
I usually use a G502 mouse for gaming, but also have some 12k and 16k devices from other manufacturers that I figure I ought to at least give a try with the Apex, however, the software that comes with them has adjustments for not only polling rate and dpi, but also sensitivity.

As you can appreciate, I don't particularly want to keep altering this setting as it means repeatedly plugging it in to the computer each time, so with that in mind, and making an assumption that others in this forum also use these generic cheapo Chinese devices, wanted to ask whether or not the sensitivity setting should just be ramped up to its maximum rather than messing about trying to set it, thereby saving me the time and trouble.

Be interested to hear people's thoughts on the matter.

Technical Support / [ACTIVE] Apex disconnect problem
« on: 04:32 PM - 03/31/18 »
Hi I Play On PS4 in The Middle of the game the apex stop working for no reason and ivhave to remove  it out from ps4 and plug it back so it can work...

Exactly the same issue here several times this evening whilst playing BF1.  The mouse/nav stops working and I have to disconnect the APEX and reconnect it in order to get it back up and running.

Mouse is G502 Spectrum (set to cycle led colours), and a Sony Navigation Controller..  I did notice that the led on the Apex was "breathing" colour wise (I have it set to red and it fades in and out) but can't remember whether or not it was solid before.  I have also tried swapping out the connected Dualshock controller with two others (charged) just in case, but no joy (literally! ) and it still happened.  Not the end of the world, but annoying when mid game and it results in your untimely death!!

Running latest Beta.

Beta / BF1 PS4
« on: 09:34 AM - 03/18/18 »
I've been giving this new EX1 firmware a try and so far so good

Always interested to see other people's setups just in case I'm missing a trick.

Currently running the Apex at 1000hz, with a G502 @ 12K DPI and 1000hz polling rate, and of course the EX1 firmware.

Both Hip and ADS are set to 8.25 sensitivity, smoothing 3 and boost 0 and have to say that it is working well thus far. I always play Support and don't get that many kills (generally 15 - 25 in conquest/frontlines as I tend to get points from suppression, assists, ammo etc...), but last night I was getting 36 kills with only a handful of deaths with the above settings.  I was able to track with ease and stay locked on and tracking when changing to ADS.  No doubt needs a few more tweaks, but I can't complain.

One thing that I did notice, and no idea if this is down to the Apex or the game, is that at times there was some slow down in the frame rate during the game. (it continued during several games that I played and I didn't see any of the network indicators showing on the screen which would indicate that it was an issue with the network).

Be interesting to hear from other PS4 users who play BF1 what they are currently running.

XIM APEX Discussions / BF1 Setups (PS4 Pro)
« on: 08:19 AM - 03/11/18 »
Saw a thread relating to Fortnite setup, so that figured I'd start one for BF1 (PS4), which is clearly the best game :-)

I tend to play support and generally use the MG15 Suppressive.  This setup allows for a nice rate of turn and ability to track moving objects in ADS  (although I do sometime lose track of those damned planes!)  Now if only I could figure out to counter the recoil from the gun in anything other than the prone position  :-)  (I generally finish in the top 5 and regularly place top in any game)

As mentioned elsewhere, using vehicles, a/a etc... is a different kettle of fish  (can be quite slow to move guns!), but I predominantly stay on terra firma as infantry anyway.

All Aim Assist, auto rotate and unform aiming is set to off in the game.

Be interesting to see how other people have theirs setup so I can compare and contrast as I might be missing a trick or two :-)

G502 Mouse @ 12k Dpi with polling rate of 1000Mhz
Sony Nav Controller (using wireless)
Xim Apex polling - 1000Mhz
Hip Sens - 110
Ads Sens - 110
Smoothing - 3 on both Hip and Ads
No ballistic curves.

Hello there,

Would it be possible that when using the Show unread posts snce last visit option you are able to select which forums the posts are shown from?  As an example, I have a Xim Apex, so am not overly interested in new posts relating to the Xim 4 as they are irrelevant to me.

Thanks for the consideration.

XIM APEX Discussions / 125Mhz vs 1000Mhz Polling Rate
« on: 04:53 AM - 03/08/18 »
I've seen a few posts relating to folks using consoles changing from the default 125Mhz to 1000Mhz Polling rate and wondered why, given that consoles are limited in what rate they are able to process.

Having just received the Apex, and having used it with the default 125Mhz setting, it appears to be working okay.  Likewise, changing it to 1000Mhz and altering the sensitivities accordingly also appears to work okay with no noticeable difference in performance - neither are really able to let me move the mouse cursor in small circles, they will only allow me to move it in small squares, and moving it in the diagonal appears to be somewhat fruitless as all I get are steps!

I have been using a Venom X4, and in fairness I would say that the cursor movement with that is more precise in that I am able to do small circles and it does move in the diagonal, although nowhere near as good as a mouse on the PC.

So, the question is, if changing the polliing rate to 1000Mhz requires that the sensitivity is reduced, isn't is just as good to stick with the default polling rate because in essence, all you are doing by adding that extra sensitivity is knocking it back to the same kind of level afforded by the 125Mhz polling rate?  I appreciate that the mouse reports every 1ms at 1000Mhz, but if the console isn't able to keep up with this, and if you are stripping away some of the information in any case by altering the sensitivity, then surely it would be best to keep the polling rate to what the console can keep up with without it having to ignore the data.
