XIM 4 Discussions / Dr_Ballistics intro To Creating Curves
« on: 09:50 AM - 11/18/15 »
Hello Everyone, since Obsiv is such a great guy and turned his head on many thing's I've done. I Figured I'd make a contribution to the community with a little mini tutorial on the how to get started with curve editing ill be linking a topic i used when i first started making curves. Enjoy.

The basics ==> http://xim4.com/community/index.php?topic=21648.0

***I have my screenshot examples on hip...all these basics apply to both hip and ADS curves.***

1.Choose a Sensitivity to start at. Look to see when your xim blinks. This is when you've reached the "end of the curve" E.I. maximum stick throttle.

*note* Just because its a low number doesn't mean it will be slow. You can recreate this another way by editing your curve. example below. Many of my curves for ADS use 1.7 Sensitivity at 12,000 DPI.

*note again* since The x-axis is mouse velocity. When editing the curve later, if you have it 'peak' to maximum stick velocity half way thru. The rest of the 'mouse velocity' goes unused. and swiping faster will not go faster. To many, this is known as a 'slow feeling'..

2. Knowing what mouse velocity corresponds with what part of the curve. Get a "feel" for what mouse velocity effects what part of the graph. I do this by doing soo..

Once i go faster than that, my movement will suddenly stop. I find it a lot easier to edit on lower sensitivities since its a lot easier to predict when the stops are about to happen.

3. Screw 1:1. When editing your curves, find a good ratio you like. by ratio i mean, the amount your 'y-axis' increases when you move your 'x-axis' for example. below i have a curve that has 1:1 at the beginning which goes up by 5 evenly., in the following curve it starts going up by 10 about half way through. In this 'zone' many people feel a "snap" feeling. It's nothing more than sudden mouse velocity that got suddenly stopped with the help of AA. This is one way of optimizing AA. ;)

4. Start from scratch..By doing this you don't have a frame your editing off of. create your perfect curve. if you like shooting from a distance go up by ratio of 3 for the first 20% of the curve. Then go up by a ratio of 7. or build up to that ratio by going up by 3.5...4.5...5.5.. play with it. I start this process by doing so...start from nothing and feel your curve every step of the way.

The biggest advice i can give is, play with it. If you find its 'too much, you can always go back to 1:1. This is for those that truly want to customize their aim to best fit their play style. This is also a tool you can use to exploit certain in game mechanics more efficiently. I.E. AA.

This is my contribution to try and help people until a more proper and formal editing tutorial is made.

Only reason i took MY time to make this is because of all the people who have supported me. Some of you are beyond generous! :')

i have the day off and want to play with some of the people on the forums.. if you want to ask me something or just play some pubs with a 'pub stomper', add me ==> INully  on xbox one.

depite my attitude on here, im a pretty nice guy. if we can get more than 3, we can play some capture the flag and spawn trap for some crazy scorestreaks ;)

I wanted to thank everyone for their support on my new curve project.. It's flattering really.  I hope everyone enjoys the new curve! And feedback is ALWAYS appreciated. Remember, this is my first go at this St.
***With the large amount of support I've recived, I'll be making two new curves over this week's span.  One that caters more towards the slower sensitivity player, and one for the high sensitivity players. Again, try and build new muscle memory.. It's not 1:1. Could take a few games =). Check your messeges over the week. I'll send only one, so don't worry about spam.  Again, thanks again community and happy curves.  =)

XIM 4 Discussions / BO3 (official Dr.Ballistics curve)
« on: 03:02 PM - 11/10/15 »
Coming soon... Lol (probably by end of today.)

On a side note... Idk how everyones playing with the vanilla ST's. .  Tried the new St, felt very 1:1. But AA is a burden most the time....yes it's playable, and I did Fairly well,... but tbh,  have these 1:1 people even tried my curves??.. There's no way vanilla is better for cods AA...but too each their own I guess.. I love the snappy feel that only curves can deliver... Anyways, here's a clip of a sick move I did for a three piece..granted we lost in semis in the next round,  but my experimental curves putting in work ;)  =)

*******Update 11/11 **********
Dr_ballistics curve is officially completed and polished.

Recommended mouse settings: 12,000  DPI,  500 HZ
.  If you don't have this, the curve might not behave the same.

P. M.  Me for more info ;)

XIM 4 Discussions / Dr_ballistics Bo3 Curve (beta)
« on: 02:29 PM - 11/06/15 »
Dr_ballistics here.
I have optimized a new curve for  the AA In bo3 for a smooth, snappy experience. This is still in its beta stages but it's looking promising.  Feel free to try it and give some feedback.  *still tweaking  the curve at higher mouse velocities to be more accurate. Also,  a release of a sniper curve.  AA seems very promising for snipers even though the ads speed is fast as @#$%.  Lol.  Stay tuned.  *
12,000. Dpi,  500 htz.  Xbox one was my setting for testing.

Upon the release of the official St, I will create another curve for the 'select few'.  Messege me for details. . Lol.  Nothing special,  just a curve with the dr_ballistics seal of approval.   ;)

XIM 4 Discussions / The "best console experience"
« on: 09:21 AM - 11/02/15 »
So after messing with the halo 5 St, and switching back and forth between cod.  I think I realize our biggest faults as ximmers. It's our micro movement and close range... Let me explain.  Let's say AA slows you by 25%. At distance it feels nice, and mid range, it feels nice. At close range, it's iffy.  And that's because at close range AA is likely constantly in your 'face'.  And if your cross hairs leave momentarily, your basically fighting with two different sensitivities and it's a luck battle.. A battle that controller players tend to win... But I think I'm getting closer to a fix...

I reduced my sensitivity in cod to '7', reason being, if you mess with the stick deflection on high sensitivities say bye to precision... Now,if I get the 'same speed'  with higher stick deflection, the targets are much easier to hit.  MUCH easier. Even at range =)..   Currently every step in the x axis I go up by '8'. To me, this keeps it slightly above 1:1.  I'm still testing.  But does anybody know exactly how the translator behaves with slower in game sensitivity?.. I'm able to keep  close to 1:1 by going up '8' increments on my current curve while getting higher AA at slower speeds..
I'm asking because I need to fix my hip curve,  plus having a greater understanding can only help... It's the weirdest one to mess with for some reason with lower sensitivity.  Any info is helpful =)

If your a 1:1 white Knight, just leave.  Lol.  This is console,  your advice is useless here..  Learn to adapt and optimize..  Not try and recreate your pc experience on a console.. Lol,  just tired of hearing about this 1:1..lol. Show me your 1:1 when AA kicks in  ::)

*bonus* Doing this makes people stop asking,  "what sensitivity you play on?"  lol =)

*******Update **********
Dr_ballistics,  'Tournament curve'.
Turn in game sensitivity to 6. Use both curves with a 16 ms delay. (progressive delay). This feels amazing so far.  Turning is limited, but AA picks up at slower speeds.   Calling it a tournament curve, because it uses a lower in game sensitivity, yet it's playable with a mouse.  Try it out for yourselves.  Any feedback is appreciated.

Note * 12,000 DPI,  500 HZ.  If you don't use this, I can't guarantee the same AA experience I did while testing.... Enjoy

XIM 4 Discussions / Xim is wierd...
« on: 09:17 AM - 10/20/15 »
So I bought a ps4 the other day and have been switching back and forth with the xim4...and for some reason,  at startup it always shows my Xbox config.  Now when I loaded the ps4 version it worked but when my manager closes on my phone it switches back to Xbox... I know it did, because the deadzonea are different and there is a jitter at the very beginning.... Anyways,  I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

Second,  how come I can use a Xbox config on the ps4 and all the buttons still register?  That's weird but kinda cool lol... I thought my curve just behaved differently on ps4 and made a curve that had deceleration and I started to find the 1:1 feel again.  Which reassured me the ST's are nothing more than someone else making a curve with a good dead zone and feel.

So my questions..

Is there a fix for this wierd Glitch?

The person that makes these ST's... What DPI is he testing on?

Since ps4 and Xbox have different stick resolutions, is one 'better'  for the xim? I feel my shots better on ps4...?

Side note: we won 2nd place In a ps4 tourney yesterday. 8) the other team must have known me from these forums since they said nice curve... Whoever you are.. I know your reading this... And let me just say this..
GG Scrub  :P. Till next time  ;)

XIM 4 Discussions / Twitch & dr_ballistics

So I made a twitch for those of you who wanna see a competitive Snd player in action using my curve.  I'm currently broadcasting and getting a feel a for twitch. If you guys wanna watch me test curves or play some COD come check me out. Give me some feedback on the quality of the image,  sound, etc.. On a side note,  does anybody know how to save what you just broadcasted? Lol.. I doubt anyone will be up late enough to watch me live while playing wagers/test curves ::D

XIM 4 Discussions / Dr_ballistics intro to COD curves
« on: 10:20 AM - 10/02/15 »
Since no on helped on my last post (Jerks -_-) requesting explanations of steady aim and the new firmware, I'm a give a quick tip for everyone  along with my curve for you to test out.

Personal belief. I think the new firmware is more precise because it allows users to swipe at faster speeds without black dotting.  I noticed this coming from stv1. Also stv2 picks seems to pick up AA more, because the virtual stick isn't as fully pegged to pick up AA like in COD. This new firmware is allowing for finer movement but at the expense of the resolution of the virtual stick being greater. Which means a faster swipe is required to break AA and stay in it.  Steady aim, I feel, either makes the curve speed up faster or it decreases the 'resolution' resulting in further stick peg... Anyways,

Biggest tip *your preference* (sensitivity speed + curve slope)
Different sensitivities go up the 'curve' at different speeds also effecting how fast you initially start going up your curve.. Depending on your style, you'll need to customize this.  Me coming from console, I never got used to moving the  mouse across the whole pad. So my curve is designed to peg the stick all the way, when my wrist is at its 'twist' limit. This helps with snapping on. To find your sweet spot, understand what part of the curve you feel when trouble shooting it.. Like so

By doing this you'll feel the dead zone and know exactly at what speed you hit that part of your curv..  so by tweaking this you can get finer aim at distance while being able to snap at close.  The usual 1 for 1 is blah for COD GAMES...feels nice looking around, not for when it's time to gun fight.

Below is my curve and one of my 'students',  we're all different. =)
Note** if you use my curve, you must use my sensitivity and DPI or else AA will feel weaker or stronger and you'll grind my curve at a different rate. Both of us are 12000 DPI 1000HTZ with new progressive delay... Mine dose Not use steady aim as it feels like a curves on top of a curve and sence no one cares to explain it in technical terms, I'm not using it.. And My students DOES use steady aim.

*note* the faster you initially start with your curve the faster AA will help you.. Find a incline slope you can control initially for precision long distance shots, then ramp the @#$% up to snap when needed ==
