General Discussion / Re: Best Xbox gaming headset??
« on: 05:45 PM - 12/13/11 »
I just purchased Turtle Beache's Limited Edition MW3 EarForce BRAVO..absolutely amazing. Expensive though, $200 after taxes.

I'm getting the MW3 Ear Force DELTA set for Xmas. :-)

I used to design and manufacture headphones for a living and I know how and where they are made. Almost any gaming headset is a massive rip-off and they are all overpriced.

But life is short. Have fun!

Hey guys,

Are there any french speakers out there who can help me with a customer? His english is pretty bad and has some questions that I don't think I will be able to effectively answer in english. He just needs to speak to someone in french about basic XIM3 setup issues.

If you can help post here or PM me.

Thanks in advance,

BV

Very cool! I have Sirius radio, but I listen to Howard Stern instead of O and A.

Do you remember the context of the conversation?

Nice work! I did the same thing today when I was in line. Although, that is my job. LOL.

It went well!

The best part about it is that the manager at gamestop is a PC gamer and hates playing consoles because of the controller so hopefully he got a lot out of it. What sucks is that the TV that they had the xbox on was a crappy piece of crap lol.

But all in all it went fine. Had about 50ppl at the midnight release, probably 30 got there in time to see it and enjoy the free wings being served :)

Now where is that Smart Translator at??
I personally still have some issues with the ADS, I couldnt get it going as fast as I wanted even playing with the Accel and sensitivity on the switcher. I dont think any of the people there cared about it as much as I did though.

Great job Ki11er! Glad it went well. We appreciate the effort to promote XIM3. When the ST comes out it will own even more!

We can't post the review word for word, but we'll give the jist and you can discuss. I'm sure someone out there will post it and you can link to it. We just can't violate their copyrights. It will end up in the public domain I'm sure.

The OXM review (we won't quote it or release the score until the issue is out) is very brief and some of the negative points to us are really odd and the tone of the review does not match the otherwise decent, but not great score. Of course, we think it should have gotten a 10 out of 10 and we think the community will also not agree with the review.

We'll have a more official response once the issue is out.

That's probably as expected... They're official, so they have to trash it to some degree because of the need to shill controllers for Microsoft, but at the same time, they can't outright lie and say it doesn't work and lose total credibility, when its proven to work, and work well.

LOL. No there is no conspiracy there. Just someone who didn't do a good job in our opinion. The mag will always disagree.

Microsoft doesn't tell the mag what to say. I've dealt with the publisher of both PC Gamer and OXM etc. for a long time and sometimes the staff simply gets it wrong. They're human just like the rest of us. But it doesn't hurt to remind them that credible reviews help sell more magazines.

When you see what this person wrote and compare it to what our customers wrote you'll be scratching your head.

use too (until last year) russia allowed $100usd, up to 50pounds through their customs (only two customs centers, St. Pete & Moscow), and up to $2500 declared value.
Then about a year and a half ago Russia got pissed off at US/NATO policy to our reaction to the bolshevik pigs steamrolling Georgia, Middle East and future members Georgia, Ukraine & Baltic states.

At which point they cut ALL "western" shipments off from the US of ANY size/value. No USPS, no Fed-Ex, No UPS. Sometimes DLH packages get through (Because DLH is headquartered in Germany). Then DLH just gave up on shipping into Russia.
Russia taxes US imports severly. During periods of allowed import/export their customs tax is 30% up to 1000usd and 50% od the declared value over that.
AFAIK they are accepting declared values up to $100 to private persons again, but that is the cutoff.

had to ship 3 40lb packages to russia 3 years ago. it was a nightmare. they got returned twice.
the best thing you can do (aside from leaving a country run by @#$% bolsheviks) is to have it shipped to a different country in europe & then shipped into russia)

This is completely incorrect. I do business in Russia every day and I have sent packages via FedEx to Russia in the past year. The most recent just a few months ago. FedEx can get it through customs. Just make sure the address is accurate and correct and include a zip code. Shipping will be expensive though.

BTW there is at least one XIM3 in Moscow. My business partner has it. :-)
