Hardware Compatibility / Re: Joystick support?

Yup, the logitech joystick twists very easily in the heat of the moment, and since it's mapped to horizontal on the other stick, it's really disruptive.

Hey!  It's really cool that we have support for a joystick now, but is there any way to disable the stick twisting?

I tried SC, and it's not able to make small movements, which makes aiming hard.  No curve can compensate for that.

Rainbow siege otoh works near perfectly for me.

Re: the "whole class of input devices" comment, I wasn't implying that edge supported a lot of different joysticks.  Simply that it provided support for a wide range of people and applications for which this type of input is best suited, by virtue of supporting a joystick.

What I mean to say is, providing support for some joystick should be very high priority, since the first joystick supported would represent a big leap forward in the range of things XIM4 is capable of.  As opposed to adding support for "mouse xyz" when there's already countless other mice to pick from.

Will the xim4 be getting support for any actual joysticks soon?  This is a big function missing that the previous xim edge had, and should be prioritized since its a whole class of input devices that is currently missing.

I think the logitech extreme 3d pro would be a great starting point.

The strategic commander works?  I just assumed it doesn't because it's not on the list.  If it does, I'll have to get one

Oh, I didn't know the g13 stick was analog, I might have to check it out.  I just assumed it was an 8way switch like the razer competitors.

I was using the attack 3, and the extreme 3d pro via commander.  Of the two, I preferred the extreme 3d pro since it had enough buttons and a hat switch to map the d-pad, L1, L2, L3, as well as back, options, home, etc.  Unfortunately, using commander was only convenient when I was playing at my desk, not in my living room (I take my console back and forth).

I think this would also make an amazing input device if xim4 supported it

Am I correct in that currently the only option we have for analog inputs for the left stick is the Sony NAV?

I really liked using a full-size joystick in my left hand with the Edge, but none of them seem to be supported now.  I don't really like the nav because it's not anchored in place, so it's hard to keep a good grip on it while accessing all the buttons and moving the stick.

I think supporting a logitech extreme 3d pro would be fantastic.

XIM 4 Discussions / Do people still use ballistics curves?
« on: 08:17 PM - 02/04/15 »
Hi everyone!  Apologies for my long absence from the board, my last year in grad school got extremely hectic (although on the upside, I am now Dr. MuKen :) )

I was planning on resuming working on my ballistics curve editor

but I noticed that there's no longer a curve library sticky, unlike with the xim edge forum, or much curve discussion at all for that matter.  Is this because people don't use them as much any more?  Is there still interest in improved functionality for the tool?

Apologies all for the lack of updates recently, work's gotten a little crazy but I will be continuing on this soon.

Cool, thanks abc123.  Sure, some example clients would be the best thing.  I should be able to do some coding for this on friday.

He's trying too hard to be funny...
Which in turn makes it not funny...

I never said he was trying, like sweating playing games.

Yeah I know what you were saying.  That's still something out of high school.
