I can not get my joystick connected to my laptop to work with the xbox 360 keys on the keyboard work fine on my laptop. Can anyone tell how to fix my joystick?

i use xim3 and xim commander to play xbox360 but the UPS keep jumping to 125 and then i lose all mouse control. anybody have a fix for this?
