The DPad isn't the same, it isn't clicky (it uses silicone dome like the ABXY, Plus and Minus, Engage, and Guide). The sticks are ALPs like Xbox controllers and the trigger are Hall Effect. All othe buttons are clicky -- including the back buttons.

Appreciate the detailed specs, I'll be keeping an eye on the project! Thanks

Good to know everybody thanks, and yeah luxuries like trxtured grips aren't a big deal to me.

How are the buttons? If it's all comparable tan X1 controller then I think it's worth it. Any audio passthrough issues? I use a wireless headset that connects to the co troller and it seems to be affected by the XIM taking power from however the X1 wants to output.

Looking to buy this for MultiVersus, a platform fighter, and move to controller gaming as a whole. It's interesting to me that I can use physical motuon to use attacks in that game through Gyro as well as having up to 4 bindings on the right stick.

I can see the features, especislly the button customization, are quite robust and something that no other controller is offering on the market. However, I have heard that an Xbox Elite controller and perhaps others offer better build quality.

While Nexus goes above and beyond in features, what is it not offering in comparison to other controllers? Is the price worth it or isbthere better value lojg term elsewhere? I'm poor so I want to make the right purchase.

Are the buttons clicky or squishy? Is the controller designed with physical inout delay in mind?

What I need to know is that I won't destroy my controller by playing aggressively and that the buttons themselves are responsive and well positioned.

Really seems like a passion product and I love that a smaller team is the first to properly bridge the gap between mouse and stick movement!

Shared Configs / Halo Infinite Season 2
« on: 02:34 AM - 05/05/22 »
Anybody have a config to share? No update to the aiming mechanic unfortunately, so I'm trying to make do:

My observations:
-Sync Off feels "faster" or more responsive
-X/Y ratio to 1.5 for an actual 1:1 X/Y sensitivity.
-Keeping Hip/ADS the same is ideal due to being forced out of ADS when getting dhot
-Some aim assist is necessary for the tracking strafing opponents
-While not recommended, I use 5 Acceleration which I feel is necessary for movement and fast positioning.

All in all I'm aiming for a setup that feels snappy.

The translation system requires deterministic aim behavior so that it's consistent to the user. If timed-based acceleration is turned up, it'll never feel right to the user.

Okay thanks, looks like we have to wait for 343 to fix it.

The reason you sre feeling that change in speed is because of Infinite's turn speed cap brfore acceleration is applied.

Some people use 5 Acceleration, curves, boost and high look threahold in order to reach the acceleration point as soon as possible, ehoch allows you to tirn faster at the cost of general accuracy.

Obsiv, does training Halo Infinite with a focus on utilizing the acceleration make sense? Even if it's less precise it feels necessary to play with a higher acceleratiom in order to slide and grapple effectively.

It depends on personal preference, but if youíre after a small mechanical kb that can operate wired or wirelessly, I recommend a Razer Blackwidow Mini V3 Hyperspeed. It works with XIM via the USB cable or USB dongle. I think it has on-board memory for macros but Iíve never tried it.

What is there to prefer exactly? New to gaming keyboards but I assume it's how it actually feels in one's hands.

This one is cheaper and doesn't seem to be much different. I don't need wireless unless there's a power issue. I'm probably turning the backlit keys off, I hate the visual distraction.

In terms of feel, a key feels like any other key in the hand, unless you go for otholinear (which I far prefer for productivity) or low-profile (which don't feel great for gaming). It's the switch that matters.

Linear are fairly quiet but responsive mechanical switches, membrane are very quiet but squishy (not mechanical), tactile are noisy & very clicky mechanical switches. Linear is the way to go for gaming. Use o-rings to dampen the sound if they're still too noisy.

Blackwidow Mini is a 65% keyboard, Huntsman Mini is a 60%. Both work fine with XIM devices. Aside from wireless, the major difference is the Hunstman Mini has no dedicated arrow keys. That bothers me, which is why I have the Blackwidow Mini, but if you don't need them, it's a fine keyboard. I have a Hunstman Mini and handed it off to one of my kids.

Blackwidow TKL again is a good kb, I have that one too but the tactile keys are very noisy. I got mine free with a monitor purchase and would have chosen linear keys if given the option. Again, I palmed it off to one of my kids (so I can hear when she's doing her homework...ulterior motives).

Once you settle on linear mech switches for gaming, it boils down to what size kb you want and whether or not you want it to be wireless. Of the three, I far prefer the Blackwidow Mini for size and wireless capability. All three models are relatively new and should have on-board memory for macros, but you'll want to check that in the Razer product docs.

In your use case - if you want function keys, go with the Blackwidow TKL with linear switches. It's a beaut little kb for PC & console gaming and you can't go far wrong.

Ducky make good kbs, but I've seen reports of issues with various models over the years.

Thanks so much! To summarize I suppose I am targeting at the very minum a Linear TKL board, but I'll keep an eye out for the Blackwidow.

If you don't want backlighting but want the nice feel of a mechanical keyboard, look at ducky. Quality keyboards without all the flashy lights with a variety of layouts and sizes and types of switches.

One thing I like on my keyboard are multimedia controls like a volume switcher and easy way to pause and skip tracks. I also want number keys as I use the keyboard on a USB switcher so it's also what I use on my desktop. Do you? It all depends on what you want.

But if you don't want backlighting, don't pay for it, avoid all the major gaming brands and just get one of the other mechanical keyboard brand machines - Ducky is probably the most well known.

No i just use two keyboards and a semi 90 degree desk setup. I really only need fast response, comfort and optionally macro capability

Or this one might be the best value.

I don't need a wireless, bluetooth switchers or macros and I do like to have the F keys.

What do you guys think?

Hardware Compatbility / Keyboard Recommendation Please!
« on: 10:59 PM - 12/26/21 »
I use a regular basic keyboard most of the time and hears that a mechanucal key oard makes a difference. What makes it worthwhile in you opinion?

What's the best one that's easy to use with XIM? I hear there are different kinds of mechanical keyboards, so what's the difference?

I suppose macros would be useful for certain things if a keyboard can let me do that (I don't use macros in multiplayer).

Price is negotiable.

Tldw sens 5-10 will complete ten 360s at the same time.

Can someone influential share this please? How do we get this to 343i?

Also does anyone have issuea with native MKB? I can't set switch weapon to scrolling without it being extremely touchy. Also why can't I bind E for use and reload? This is why XIM is still relevant.

I might be dumb here, but what does this mean exactly?? I'm not sure I understand...

No worries bud.

After 5 sens you reach a turn speed cap that is the same all the way up to 10. What's supposed to happen is

Higher sensitivity = 10 turns completed faster.

Im not good at explaining either and exhausted today.

Can someone help me share this please? Im not a reddit guy

13
The easiest would be to just create a new Reddit post and then ask the XIM Community to upvote it. That should result in a big enough starting-boost to get a discussion going. You could also post it in the XIM Community Discord. That way it should easily reach a few hundred upvotes.

The problem with Reddit is that the upvotes have to be done within 24h or else the topic will not make it into the trending list where everyone sees it.

Also Od1n are you German? Cause if you are who I think you are it's beem very nice to have your tutorials available!

Thanks man :)

Thanks for your strategy. I might do this tomorrow.

14
You should post this on the Halo Reddit board, lots of 343i devs are checking it plus if the community has interest in the topic it will get upvoted quite a lot.
Nice find though, maybe thats why Infinite feels slower than previous Halo games!

I did but it didnt gain traction. I rarely touch Reddit so I'd have to ask someone here takes control over this. I am a messenger or the first runner in the relay race.

It's up to you guys now, I made the current sens work for me.

Also Od1n are you German? Cause if you are who I think you are it's beem very nice to have your tutorials available!
