Do you know if the new xim will allow me to login into multiple accounts without logging in everytime? I have been using beloader and obtaining the account code using a software without having to log into psn. All I do is enter the psn name and it gives me the codes automatically. I just copy and paste the account id into the beloader txt file and save.

This is what it looks like psncode" border="0

Well, it would surprise me if Matrix really required the PSN login procedure just to connect to remote play. I thought it is just an alternative. At least, I wouldn't enter my PSN password into a closed source app just to find out my PSN account ID. Besides the Chiaki python script and PlayStationSharp (which is both open source), there is even an easier method. You can look up anyones PSN account ID via this website: https://psn.flipscreen.games/

When setting up PSRC for example you can connect to remote play by just entering your PSN account ID - no PSN login required. So, I'd be really surprised if a commercial solution forced you to do this for no obvious reason...

Also, I think OBsIV already mentioned that this could be an option. So if Matrix doesn't offer this feature, this would defintely be a K.O. criterion for me. I guess we will see once they showcase the Matrix manager app.

They store your password? Yikes. We will never do that. There is a proper way to support multiple accounts and it isn't this way. It's much more involved on our end which is why we aren't supporting it at launch. It is something we can look at post-launch. For now you can store off your PSN Account ID and enter that without having to go through the full PSN login. Given what you are telling me with what you are doing with Beloader, even as we support one account at a time, it sounds like to me that it'll still be faster to switch between accounts with MATRIX. And you'll be able to do it from your phone and not have to restart your MATRIX in some special mode.

XIM doesn't break the ToS of either PlayStation or Xbox.

Interesting. Just out of curiousity. Why do you think this para of Sony's PSN TOS would not apply to the XIM?

5.12. Do not use, make, or distribute unauthorized software or hardware, including non-licensed peripherals [...]

This is cheating, pure and simple.

In your book its cheating, in the one of others it isnt.
From a legal point of view a XIM isnt cheating, and thats what matters. You can obviously see this differently and you are also free to do so, but that wont change the underlying legal foundation in any way.

Hmm... I'd assume the "underlying legal foundation" are Ubisoft's TOS which clearly say:

"You agree that you will not: [...] Engage in any activity, such as cheating, [...] that gives the Account owner (and/or his/her teammate(s)) an unfair advantage or causes detriment to other players’ experience"

Now they even state on their Twitter account: "Anti-Cheat: Mousetrap". So, Ubisoft clearly states that they consider the use of mnk on console as cheating. So I don't see why the TOS wouldn't apply in this case?! For now it is just a matter of realiable detection what stops them from enforcing their TOS.

"In the event of a violation of the Rules of Conduct, disciplinary action may be taken. Actual disciplinary action is dependent upon the severity and/or number of instances of the offenses and shall be decided at our discretion, on a case-by-case basis.  We may issue a warning, suspend or close your Account temporarily or permanently, enact a hardware ID ban, reset your in game-progress to a previous state and/or suspend or close your ability to use one or more Services, or part of our Services, at any time based on prohibited conduct."

Please, don't get me wrong, I like XIM - well, at least the XIM APEX. However, what I find disturbing is the communication from the XIM team, downplaying the risks (even if they are tiny) involved in using the XIM and arguing with an alleged "legal foundation". What I found most concerning is the communication that went along with the announcement of their new product saying that "Scripting/macroing is not a bannable offense anymore" and that this would be backed by an alleged change of Sony's and Microsoft's TOS.

I am afraid that is just wishful thinking. Judging from the sword alone they put in their twitter post, I'd assume they go for the lethal mousetrap. Also they clearly say: "Anti-Cheat: Mousetrap". And if they consider mouse on console as cheating, I don't think they will "reward" these players with their own player pool. Ubisoft's TOS say:

"Engage in any activity, such as cheating, hacking, botting, boosting, or tampering that gives the Account owner (and/or his/her teammate(s)) an unfair advantage or causes detriment to other players’ experience"

But I guess we'll only know for sure on the 18th.

Its one of the requirements when releasing a game on Playstation. Your game must have remote play support.
I doubt they will make an expection and allow Ubisoft to remove it. That would work against their whole remote play agenda which they pushed quite hard over the last year.

Interesting. However, I haven't heard anything about that Sony forces game publishers/devs to enable RP. Do you have some official source to back this? Thank you!

I assume you can at least use your PS5 and your Laptop both simultaneously via Ethernet? If so, maybe PSRC could be an option to use it together with XIM MATRIX.

9
However, I want to try native psrc
Seems gud

I just can't wait to not need to plug in my pi and and be able to use it for other projects again.
Go back to just plugging in the XIM and playing

True. I also think that using a RPi exclusively for PSRC is a little to much. That's why I am using an inexpensive x96 mini for it ;-)

11
Not too excited for the moment as I am currently pretty happy playing PS5 games with PSRC at the moment. Especially PSRC's native functionality has developed extremly well.

However, I am also looking forward to the XIM MATRIX. :)

Maybe then I'd avoid saying such things as: "From a legal point of view using scripts/macros is no longer cheating on Xbox and Playstation.". In my opinion it is a little bit misleading for customers when the TOS doesn't state this at all (and this is only deducted somehow from an alleged rewording).

Everyone should be aware of the risks involved in using it, no matter how small they are.

From a legal point of view using scripts/macros is no longer cheating on Xbox and Playstation.
I was looking through Sony's current terms and previous terms. What exactly did Sony change in their terms?
The sections that I think they would use to ban someone appear to be consistent through the last few terms. Maybe the change you're talking about is older than I looked at. I'm curious what, exactly, they changed that now permits the use of scripts/macros. Thanks
Hopefully OD1N can comment on this.

TOS must have been changed after March 2022:

Showing direct proof that you use scripts (rapid fire) is quite risky. All it takes is a salty viewer that reports your video to the XBL/PSN Support and your account will get banned. Using a XIM is not the problem here but admitting that you are scripting (rapid fire). Thats against the ToS and results in a ban, assuming good evidence is shown to the support AND the youtube account can be traced back to your PSN account.

Hope this helps!

Rapid Fire Macro using Xim Apex

But interestingly enough, the developer of the superb PSRC software already noticed some security enhancements that were lately introduced into Sony's RP protocol.
Any details on the security enhancements?

Sorry, you would have to ask the developer yourself for that.

But maybe this helps to get a sense of Sony's stance on this point and whether a ban is possible or not. To my understanding, these are the very same TOS that Od1n quoted and XIM based their decision on, that, due to a change of the TOS, scripting/macroing is now fully in line with the new TOS: https://community.xim.tech/index.php?topic=103395.msg892603#msg892603

Of course some will brush all concerns away and say it is just "lawyer gibberish" and "nobody reads that anyway" ;-)

5.12. Do not use, make, or distribute unauthorized software or hardware, including non-licensed peripherals and cheat code software or devices that circumvent any security features or limitations included on any software or devices or take or use any data from PSN to design, develop or update unauthorized software or hardware.

5.14.Do not attempt to hack or reverse engineer any code or equipment used on or in connection with PSN, or attempt to modify the online client, disc, save file, server, client-server communication, or other parts of any game title, or content.

5.15. Do not cause disruption to or modify or damage any Account, system, hardware, software, or network connected to or provided by PSN for any reason, including for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage in a game.

12.2.  Suspension or Termination of your Account or Console by SIE.  We may suspend or terminate any PSN Account or PlayStation Device, or indefinitely suspend or discontinue online access to certain network features or services, in the event of a violation of this Agreement, or as may be reasonably necessary to protect our PSN users, our partners, our platform, or other SIE interests.

I think it's possible that an increase in Remote Play users being reported for not having recoil, which can be confirmed, could become an issue for all Remote Play users. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

I think it is more the game developers than Sony that could actually "spoil the RP fun". If a game developer really cares about fairness in its game and learns that RP is the reason that people gain an unfair advantage over others, they could simply revoke the RP support for their game - or just for their games multiplayer part ( RP needs to be supported by the game itself: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/games/ps4-remote-play-connection-troubleshooting/ ). I mean, cmon, who has ever used RP for competetive online shooters? But to be honest, I guess only time will tell whether Sony and/or game developers care enough to do something about it. Not sure about the likeliness that sth like that will occur. But interestingly enough, the developer of the superb PSRC software already noticed some security enhancements that were lately introduced into Sony's RP protocol.
