Beta / Re: XIM4 Firmware 20141006 Issue/Feedback
« on: 02:42 PM - 11/14/14 »
Hey guys!  I just updated from the 20140619 update to the latest 20141006. My problem is  that my phone has to re link the Bluetooth every time I use the XIM4 now. And every now and again my phone won't connect to the XIM 4?    I am using an HTC One M8 that is not updated to lolipop and an Xbox One. I have un installed the XIM manager and reinstalled I have cleared my phones cache and have synced it 4 times via Bluetooth. Anyone else having this problem. and as far as the XIM4 staying on after my Xbox One is off the USB has always has power and XIM pulses ever since I got it! I just unplug after use.

I'm having these similar issues as well. Upgraded from the ship firmware to this build (skipped the other one). Also upgrade the manager on the phone (Galaxy S4).

I find that the manager doesn't seem to want to connect initially. I have to force close the app, clear the memory on the phone, and relaunch the app 2 or 3 times before it finally connects. Not too big of a deal since I don't mess with my configs much once I settle into one. But it does happen.

I'm also having the issue where most of the time the XIM stays on after powering down. My system is set to power save mode so it completely turns off, and the XIM is plugged into the back USB port via the supplied wire that  came with the XIM.

I'd say the XIM turns off with the console maybe 1 in 4 times. Rest of the time I have to go over an unplug it.

Currently running it with a G700s, G13, controller with play and charge kit, and stock Xbox headset.

This build has resolved the keyboard buttons on mouse issue for me. Haven't had any lockups with that.

People have asked for "sensitivity normalization" of STs so that what you are asking is possible, but, settings are setup-specific as of now. Meaning, Sensitivity is something you will need to set. But, after that everything else can be shared. I do like the idea of sharing in a common place (this is why copy/paste is available in Configs). Question is how to organize it?

Not sure what type of information the XIM can detect, but if it has some way of telling what the DPI and polling rates are for the mice connected (and perhaps even the model mouse), maybe something in the app could pull that info into a database where the outliers could be disregarded and the rest of the data could produce a starting point sensitivity setting for the game.

No matter what it needs to be fine tuned to people's specific tastes, but a starting point or some ability to pull down people's configs from a cloud could be interesting. Ultimately this is still a slightly techy hobby that requires some customization on the end users part, we've come a long way from soldering our own or modding controllers though. Making configs is light years easier than back in the day.

Not sure you could ever reach a plug and play level that would appease the masses.

Simply start with it plugged in and it'll pair. Then unplug it and it'll start blinking.

Also, we have a bug where you can't connect Manager after you've wirelessly connected you Nav. Please be aware of that.

Hi, thanks for the quick response.  Yes, I had read that somewhere and tried it but it does not seem to work.  The red light on my nav is a constant red all the time whether plugged in or not.  Its pretty old and has never been used wirelessly (having been used on my XIM 3 previously).  Perhaps its duff and I need a new one.

I was having the same issue. Nav would work while plugged in but no while unplugged. Brand new Nav bought just a few weeks ago for XIM4.

Just now it started working though. I was playing with it plugged in, then I unplugged it and it wasn't working, plugged it back in, started working again, unplugged one more time and it started flashing and kept working.

Not sure what triggered it, but it seems to work wireless now.

You might be able to set them to unused mouse buttons that are still considered buttons, rather than keys.  The problem seems to be with the non-generic bindings, which seem to use a keyboard emulation that causes issues.  From what I see of LGS, you can select from a large number of "generic" mouse buttons that may work better than a key binding.  Maybe give that a try?

How do you get it to map with the generic mouse buttons? When I was setting up mine the only option was to click on the virtual button on the screen, then tap the button you wanted associated with it.

I'm having the same lock up issue presently. Mapped 4 buttons to the 4 on the side of the mouse and the one I have set for Jump keeps locking up within a few minutes of use.

Hardware Compatibility / Re: G700 keyboard binds sticking

I'm having this issue as well on the G700s

Tried to use the default settings but the manager viewed most of the buttons on the side of the mouse as the same command so I had to use the logitech software to define them as separate keys.

Now it locks up within a few minutes of use.

Same thing. Shipped Thursday. Sitting at Fedex since Saturday. Monday delivery would be 2 days. Nope. You get it Tuesday, on day 3 of 2-3 day shipping. They should just say 3 day shipping.

Same thing I'm seeing on mine, the status says "not due for delivery". I understand not rushing to speed up the order like the treatment they would give to an overnight customer, but to artificially slow down a delivery when it's already arrived is stupid. Especially when delivering today would fall into the 2-3 day shipping window.

Instead they're deciding it's going to be 3 days no matter what. If not longer.

Question for those receiving their units. Back of the box says "Bluetooth adapter required"

I thought that was just for the beta and the final product was going to have built in bluetooth, did something change?

i am so sorry! that must be a hard pill to take....

Hard pill is having the order in your cart the first minute the stock opened up and then hitting the checkout error that was caused by the insurance glitch.

10 minutes later after removing insurance I get the order in and am down in the 700's. Probably would have been in the first 100 easy barring that glitch.

I think this post warrants a bump.

By the way, if anyone picks up a G13, consider doing this hack to improve the thumbstick:

(Funny trivia: I did this hack, using this guide, a couple of years ago... long before I even knew what a XIM was.  It was funny to rediscover the thread recently.)

I actually bought someone's modded G13 off this site back when there used to be a hardware sale subforum. It did me well for many years, still have it and my XIM3 and Edge.

Decided to upgrade to wireless this go around though with the nav and G700s combo since it looks a lot easier to setup on XIM4.

Just go to the store, click on the XIM4 picture and place the order

Thanks, I ordered like a week and a half ago in anticipation of upgrading my XIM rig. Just contacted amazon and they're refunding the price difference.

Guys I ran into the same issue just uncheck the signature and insurance option.

Thank you, that worked instantly. Weird that selecting insurance and signature would cause you to not be able to check out

I'm having this as well.

"Sorry about that!

We've run into a slight problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed at the moment.

We apologize for the inconvenience! Please try again in a few minutes.

An e-mail has been sent to the site administrator with details about this problem and we hope to have it corrected soon."

I can't check out, the payment page goes to error before it loads.

Definitely getting a traffic boost, slow loads at the moment.
