Game Support / Re: Fortnite Issues
« on: 01:12 PM - 10/10/18 »
Hi all,

Having a couple of issues with Fortnite.

  • Issue #1) (the big one) Using the Apex seems to cause stutters in the game.

Take a look at this video: https://streamable.com/u47nv

This is using the mouse connected to the Xim Apex. You can see my settings are set to low, my FPS is around 200 and my ping is 1-5. Yet the game stutters along.

If I grab the mouse (directly connected to the PC) and start moving, the game returns to normal, even if the Xim is still plugged in. Something about the Xim sending input to the game is slowing the game down. I also don't get this slowdown if I plug in the Xbox controller to the PC directly.

  • Issue number 2

In trying to tweak my settings, I ended up resetting my Apex to factory and then installing the latest Fortnite Battle Royale profile. But now I'm having a problem where there is a "dead zone" or mouse acceleration enabled, even with the default settings. If I move my mouse slowly, even a long distance, there is no movement sent to the game. Once I speed up my mouse movement it moves appropriately.

Previously, the mouse was nearly perfect. Slight movements were still translated appropriately. Did something change in the latest update to the Xim Apex Fortnite Profile for xbox?

Thanks in advance for any help on these issues! Sorry if I'm throwing too much into one thread, I don't want to spam or bug. :)

Could you add me on discord and teach me how you're able to use the xim and play on pc with keyboard and mouse? I'm trying to do that so i can use the consoles autoaim on pc with keyboard and mouse. MY discord is mythic#1842

I want to play fortnite on pc with keyboard and mouse but I want a little bit of aim assist which I heard you can do with the xim. Is this possible?

hey, no need to pay anyone here, the help is for free :)

not every game works with the xim on pc since its not a supported platform, but you can of course try Fortnite to see if it works
the setup is the following

1) connect a xbox360 controller directly to the PC, launch the game and verify that the controller works ingame
2) disconnect the controller and plug it into your xim, now connect the xim with everything attached (mouse, keyboard, ...) to the pc
3) press the xbl button on the controller if necessary to reconnect

again not every pc game works and some pc games will not offer aim assist for controller users

You can plug a ps4 controller into the PC and it works and get aim assist but as soon as you move the mouse it gets rid of it. So will it trick it to think my keyboard is a controller if they're both plugged in?

hey, as i said some games will remove the aim assist for the controller when they detect the xim (destiny 2 for example)

your setup is the following?
- no mouse and keyboard connected to pc
- xim with everything attached to the pc

you cannot have both connected at the same time with the new fortnite update 6.0 onwards as it will only recognize one input device at a time
means if you have a controller AND mouse + keyboard connected directly to the pc then it will also only recognize one or the other, hence your aim assist goes away when using a mouse directly connected to the pc

also most games require a xbox360 controller, this mostly applies to older games though

Right now I'm just using keyboard and mouse connected to my PC, I haven't bought the XIM yet cause idk if it will work for what I want. So if I connect the keyboard, mouse, and controller to the xim then the pc will it think i'm using the controller when i'm really using they keyboard? If not, could I just plug my keyboard and mouse into it and then use scripts or whatever to get aim assist or do those not exist? Cause I've heard about macros or something. Thank you for taking the time to help me!

Hello, I've never used one of these devices before but i've been doing my research but I haven't found an answer to my question which is this, is there anyway I can use this device to play fortnite on my pc, using my keyboard and mouse, but make it think I am using the ps4 controller I have? That way I can still have aim assist that you'd get if you plug a controller into the pc. Is this possible? Which model would I need?

NOTE: When I have both my keyboard and mouse and ps4 controller on my pc they all work but when i move the mouse the aim assist goes away. So will this device trick the computer into thinking my keyboard input is the controller I have plugged in?

NOTE2: Will pay someone if they can help me figure this out and set it up.

If this is possible and someone can guide me through it, I will pay them in btc or paypal and I will go first.
