Sorry if it's a dumb questiont, but can psrc also work on Linux with virtual machine?
Yes. The psrc VM will work wherever VirtualBox will work. So running on Linux is no problem.
Also their is a psrc deb file which installs directly on Ubuntu Linux 22.04. This does not need a VM and will run directly from your hardware. For me this has been the best version of psrc. If you are running Ubuntu Linux 22.04 (or any variant thereoff) on your pc/laptop then this is an excellent option to try first

Ha, great! I'm planning to use it on my steam deck as I don't have the desktop in the living room. Will send some cool pics once you give us access for testing!

To everyone that wants to test PSRC,

Testing has been temporarily put into halt by the creator. He wants new testers to test out the new version of PSRC and not the current one. Bad news is that new testers will have to wait for the new version to come out, the good news is that it seems like it isn't going to take very long now, though things could change of course.
Exact , the next release is a huge release. This is why i really want new testers will be focused on it.
Dev is finished. If first test is ok the new invite will be send!

Can't wait to test man! Right on time prior to cod mw2 launch you are a legend! Let me know when the new version for VM solution is rdy for testing

I really want to test PSRC myself but can't get an invitation. I wrote to the author of the utility here in the forum but no reply. Is there another way to achieve scoring an invitation?

I assume the testing group is saturated and no more testers are invited (for now).
You will probably have to wait for the creator to post a statement on how the future roadmap will look like.
I was very busy and in travel :), invitation will be send

No problem man! When you get a moment send that invite and I'll join discord! Thanks

Thanks man. I wrote to apex vip... Hopefully he can allow me to test it

Thanks.. A couple of final questions
1)llink to download psrc ova format?
2)so basicslly I leave the xim plugged on my computer and play on the computer via remote play? Or  did I get it wrong and there is. Way to actually play on the console itself?
Oh i thought you got invited to the discord channel already. You gotta ask apex_vip here if you can test it. Edited: I forgot to answer your question, you play it on console but you run virtualbox in your PC as well as your xim.

Great well done preston47s really appreciate the time and effort you put on this.

Great finding, using PSRC on a Virtual Machine, for those who had a PC next to your PS is a great solution.

Thanks to apex_vip for a fantastic alternative on PSRC.

I just jump to PSRC still testing, I'm using Raspberry Pi 4B 2GB; after trying official playstation remote play and two Beloaders, PSRC pi works noticiable better than those very responsive and hard to find any noticieable or difference between native support (XIM direct to PS) and PSRC on Pi 4.

I wonder if I can make it work with a Virtual Machine on Mac M1, which is next to my PS and runs very quiet and cost efficient.

Once again thanks for share this and the time you put into.
Welcome, its really apex_vip that's doing all the work im just helping spread the solution. I made this tutorial a while back just copying and pasting it  :P

Ah so i need to have the computer near the ps5, plug xim(mkb) on computer and play. I suppose my laptop would do the trick as well right? It's windows 11 lenovo ultrabook i5 8th gen 3+ ghz.. Not very powerful but not bad either. Does it require a lot of processing power?

Hi Apex! I'd like to join the psrc pc testing gang. I was told i need to get an invite for your discord server?

How can I setup PSRC on my PC using VM? Any good guide I can follow?

Still no native solution to use my beloved xim apex with ps5 for ps5 titles? :( i love this little gadget but don't want to use it with remote play / beloader.... Any progress at all for native support? Any hope from any 3rd party controller about to be released?

No dude. Softwares like PSRC are your best bet. I wouldn’t be married to, or remain hopeful about the idea of native XIM translation any time soon. Neither the XIM nor Titan team can magically overcome the hardware/firmware limitations Sony has put in place without extensive R&D on the programming front. PSRC is much better than beloader and remote play imo. There is also a method now to use PSRC with a virtual machine on your windows computer. In other words, I’d “get with the program“ in a literal sense because it feels as good as or if not better than native. And you can use any polling rate you want (just as good as native in that aspect). Message vip and see if he’ll invite you to the discord and give it a try for yourself

Do you have a guide on how I can setup PSRC on my windows system and play on my PS5? They are both on the same network using ethernet.

Beta / Re: PS5 FULL SUPPORT
« on: 01:37 PM - 02/10/22 »
Beloader is third-party hardware. So is a Mac, PC or PS4, which not everyone has unlimited access to, especially if one is required while gaming with a XIM.

Android and iOS have been investigated but wireless is too laggy to be reliable. Android can be connected via an Ethernet adapter, but iOS can’t, so that rules out mobile devices. Raspberry Pi is looking promising, but again, it’s third-party hardware.

XIM doesn’t want us to be forced to buy additional third-party equipment to use a XIM on PS5, it really is that simple. Many of us don’t own a PC, Android phone, Pi, PS4 or Beloader. That creates inequity and complexity…that’s not the way XIM wants to support PS5.

PS5 will be supported, it just takes time for an appropriate solution to emerge. Don't expect XIM to jump into bed and bundle its products with the first thing to come along that remotely resembles a viable, affordable solution. That's what Beloader is and what they wanted, but XIM doesn't believe their product is up to XIM's standards.

Watch this space - XIM will almost certainly have PS5 support in 2022. We've gutted it out for 15 months, a few more months won't hurt.

I sure hope you are right. But how can you be so certain? There aren't even real 3rd party controllers right? It's as if Sony has really locked down the source code for the new controller

Hey Obsiv, could this new HORI controller provide a viable solution?
