XIM APEX Discussions / Re: BELOADER
« on: Today at 02:21 PM »
The Beloader uses a remote play emulation. It connects to your router via Wi-Fi and appears as a remote play connection to your PS5. Your XIM connects to the Beloader rather than the Playstation. The Beloader needs to be connected to a USB port but only for power.

When I powered up my PS5 this morning, the home page displayed a blurb from Sony talking about how accessible the PS5 is and how developers have gone out of their way to be inclusive. What a load of s**t. With absolutely no support for third party controllers and no Sony option other than the DualSense, it's a real poke in the eye to those of us that can't comfortably use the standard controller. You should write Sony and complain if you feel the same way.

Actually it wasn't a PS5 system update that caused the problem. I'm using an Apex with a Hori mini and I'm still able to play some PS5 games like the PS5 version of Destiny 2, Spiderman: Mike Morales and others. Even Astro's Playroom still runs with the Apex. Sony gives game developers the option to require a DualSense controller in order for the game to run. Since the PS5 recognizes the Apex/Hori combo as a Hori mini pad, games that require a DualSense controller won't run. Many new games have implemented this check but not all. Until the Apex is capable of emulating a DualSense, we're stuck using the native controller. It sounds like a potential solution may be possible but at this point there are no guarantees. To be fair the XIM developers never claimed to be compatible with the PS5. Of course it's certainly possible that Sony will change things in some future software update that will prevent any games from working.

Beta / Re: XIM APEX BETA [Manager 20210625] (**LATEST**)
« on: 08:22 PM - 07/02/21 »
I assumed the crash dump was sent along with the bug report. I haven't used test flight myself for debugging. Let me know if I can help in any way. Of course in this instance the app isn’t totally crashing. Kinda weird actually. I get the white splash screen then the screen blinks, the splash re-appears then the home screen.

Beta / Re: Xim Apex mouse and keyboard not detected by ps5
« on: 02:12 PM - 07/02/21 »
BTW you won't see your mouse and keyboard listed in the PS5 setup even when the XIM is working. You can actually connect a keyboard and mouse directly to the PS5 but unless the game developer adds mouse and keyboard support you won't be able to use them with any games. The PS5 only sees the controller attached to your XIM, not the mouse and keyboard. The XIM translates your mouse movements and keystrokes into controller commands which are sent to the PS5.

I'm having problems getting this build to run on my iPad Air 2 running iPadOS 14.6. It launches the the splash screen then immediately drops into background mode. If you try to re-launch it the same thing happens. It runs fine on my iPad Air 3rd gen. Tried deleting it and re-installing with the same result. I submitted a bug report via TestFlight. Reverted to current release which is working.

No rush.

I started off using a Hori mini which worked fine but had to be connected after the XIM initialized. I switched to a Hori FPS + which initially worked like a charm. Now I'm having to unplug the FPS+ and reconnect it to get it to work. I suspect that the controller is at fault but I thought I'd see if anyone else is having trouble.

I'd like to see the new manager make its way to the App Store at some point. I'm using an iPad and the portrait orientation was nice. I had some problems reverting to the App Store version after the beta expired. I eventually had to delete the app and re-install it. Seems to be working now.

Just updated from 2021215 to 20210129. Using Hori minigamepad on PS5 with a Logitech G700 and Redragon gaming keypad. Other than having to connect the Hori after the XIM has initialized, this version is working as well as the last one. Thanks for all your hard work.

Ok I've given up and I dont wanna wait anymore. What exactly do I have to purchase to get mouse and key working on ps5 games I need to buy an apex and what else is needed exactly and please explain how to get it to work if that's possible.
There  is a list of tested controllers on the first page of this thread. I'm using a Hori mini gamepad which works fine if you don't mind having to connected after the XIM has initialized

That’s strange. I mostly play Destiny 2 and I haven’t had any issues using the mini pad. I have R1 bound to “E”

Just wanted to thank you guys for all the hard work on the PS 5 compatibility. I purchased an Apex and a Hori Mini to replace my XIM 4 and so far they're working great. I do have to unplug and reconnect the Hori as has been mentioned but otherwise it's working great.

Support / Re: [Q/A] XIM 4 on PS 5
« on: 06:56 PM - 01/21/21 »
Is that the official word from the developers? Iíll purchase an Apex if the XIM 4 canít be updated but Iím very happy with the XIM 4 and donít want to replace it unnecessarily. Given that the Titan is about the same price as the Apex, I think I would just as soon have the Apex. Remote play wonít support 4K so itís not really a long term solution. Iím hopeful that the developers will eventually be able to provide support for the native PS5 controller

Support / [Q/A] XIM 4 on PS 5
« on: 11:52 AM - 01/21/21 »
I see that there is a beta version of the Apex firmware that allows you to use it with PS 5 games via a third party controller. I have a XIM 4 and just ordered a PS 5 so I was wondering if there will be a version available for the XIM 4. I have pretty bad arthritis in my hands and have a hard time using a standard controller.
