Is x/y radio needed for boost version?

What is the difference between boost and curve? Is IT exactly same thing?

Tried this last night. Still trying to get the boost at the right spot, so far it's at 3527 and it still feels like the aim moves more than it should. If I lower it more, the aim feels heavy and harder to turn.

Should I be tweaking the Boost to make quicker turns?

I've tried increasing sensitivity but It just makes aligning the cursor faster on target, but not turning.

What Dpi is ur mouse on?

Apparently Blizzard has responded to the Linear Ramp problem, although they seem to "be having trouble replicating the issue" which is pretty funny  ::)

http://www.dbltap.com/posts/5112011-blizzard-responds-to-linear-ramp-issues

Anyways, hopefully they figure things out and the problem gets resolved soon.

A fixed Linear Ramp might get Mist to have another look at Linear and create an official ST for it.

That would probably feel a million times better than the workaround we are currently using for Linear Ramp.

Hey bro! Can u post linear 8.5 curve for 100% scale? With the cut off

Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Mouse Ballistics] START PASTE >>>
X4MB:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANgAwADQAMAA1ERslLzlDTVdha3V/iZOWlqCqtL7I:X4MB
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

Wow thanks, definitly PC feeling now. Cant be better!

Just increase the first step of the curve until u see smooth aim movement when u barely move the mouse then add +5 every step all the way to the top.

No this is not what I ask for :(

Game Support / Overwatch curve scale
« on: 03:48 PM - 06/11/17 »
Hello guys!

As someone mentioned in another thread. There is a 125% scale on latest firmware for curve but 100% on the Steady AIM curves. I would like to try the linear setup and I am on SA3 which means the curve with 8.5 start needs to be cut of @ 75% ish because of the 100% scale. I really dont wanna upgrade to latest firmware. What I ask for kindly is if there is someone WHO can make me this curve. A linear 8.5 curve for 100% scale, I really suck at Malung the curves on my own. Just to clarify IT once again I want the linear curve for ps4 which is sent around the forums to be in scale for the Steady AIM firmwares which runs 100% scale and the linear curve is designen for 125%.  Much appriciated.

Okej Thanks for the detailed info. But tbh instead of Messing around changing firmwares etc, this should equal to just play with default curve and boost on Sa03. This should be the same as 125% scale + curve right? I mean its easier for me to Go from curve to boost than Messing with another firmware and this curve shortener. 1 last thing Im on ps4 ur boost on 4800+ is to much, someone wrote 3250 is to Go for ps4 is that correct?

Yes, the value I posted will definitely be too much for PS4 users (the same way using a 12.0 curve would be too much for PS4 users). So I would go with the 3250 and adjust accordingly if it feels off.

The only thing about boost values is that it will be harder to dial in perfectly. So I would start with that number and if it feels great, then stick with it but if it does not, start lowering or increasing it in increments of 50 or 100.

Ok one last question. SA03 with 100% scale without curve but with boost equals a 125% scale firmware with curve No boost, right?

When I try and use the boost it feels dreadful. It's nothing even close to how the curve feels by a long shot. What is everyones exact settings using this method cause I feel I have to be messing up. I'm on ps4 as well and have been using the 8.5 curve....

Scratch all of that. You must have the latest firmware for the boost to work, I was on SA5 and i felt like trash but now i'm on the latest gold and its great.

That is because the boost function does not function normally on most of the steady aim firmwares.

The steady aim function in most of the firmwares basically takes over the boost box and uses it for the steady aim function instead. So you cannot use this method with those firmwares (the only steady aim firmwares where boost functions normally is SA03, SA04 and I believe SA02). Besides those 3 builds, boost will not feel the same.

I also made another discovery about curves when experimenting between the various SA firmwares and the regular gold build firmwares. With the SA firmwares, there was a difference introduced in how curves behave. Instead of the 125% scale that curves have always been on, with SA01 and onwards (so that would be SA builds released 20160624 or later) the scale was changed to 100%. Mist or OBsIV can correct me here if I am wrong but this change would cause curves to feel different for people who are on different firmwares. Leading one person to feel like the curve feels off, whereas another person might feel it works great.

I first started using the Linear Ramp workaround when I was on SA0 firmware and it felt great at the time (I was not using the steady aim feature, just happened to be on SA0 firmware at the time). I then upgraded to SA03 and all of a sudden I didn't have that same feeling anymore and was missing a lot more shots. That is when I realized that there was a change in how curves behave between those two firmwares. Maybe some people might not notice it but I did immediately.

Anyways, if you are on a gold build there is not much to worry about because those run at the regular 125%.

So for people using the old curve method and have noticed a weird feeling when switching around between firmwares, this could explain that.

HOWEVER, if you end up using the boost method for Linear Ramp, then it should not matter what firmware you are on as long as you avoid the SA firmwares that take over the boost box. SA02, SA03 and SA04 would be the "safe" firmwares to use with boost method.

Hope this helps!

So if I Have understanded u correct the linear performs best with 125% scale? And can only be found on SA0? If u Have newer firmware its 100% and isnt same? How about the latest official firmware? I am on SA03 atm and IT feels awesome but if there is something betyer I would ofc want to try IT. Can u explain this more detailed to me? And how can I see if IT is 100% or 125?

Only if you use the curve method for Linear Ramp would you be affected by this. All firmwares are on 125% EXCEPT for all of the Steady Aim builds. Only the first ever Steady Aim build (called SA0) was on the regular 125% scale. The rest of the SA builds were on 100% scale. And if you are on a gold build such as 20160405 or 20170103 then you can rest assured that you are on 125%.

Personally, yes, I found the curve that I was using to feel better on 125% scale. But it is a subjective thing and someone else might feel differently about it. If you are already used to your current curve at 100% scale, then changing it now might feel weird to you but you could always give it a shot.

On the plus side, if you use the boost method, you don't have to worry about all this scale nonsense  :P

Also you could probably "convert" your curve to work with a firmware that is using a different scale.

For example, when I was using firmware SA03 and realized the scale was different, I simply tried converting my curve and it did seem to work properly afterwards when I tested in game.

This was my regular curve (which I felt worked good on 125% scale firmwares)

Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Mouse Ballistics] START PASTE >>>
X4MB:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANgAwADQAMAA1GCIsNkBKVF5ocnyGkJqkrrjCyMjI:X4MB
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

This was what the curve looked like after converting it for use on 100% scale firmwares:

Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Mouse Ballistics] START PASTE >>>
X4MB:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANgAwADQAMAA1GCIsNkBKVF5ocnyGkJqkrrjCyMjI:X4MB
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

Basically just took the old one and cut it off at 75% to account for the 25% difference in scale.

And to avoid confusion, once again want to state for people who have moved on to using the boost method to not worry about this scaling stuff as it does not affect you.

Okej Thanks for the detailed info. But tbh instead of Messing around changing firmwares etc, this should equal to just play with default curve and boost on Sa03. I was running SA05 NPD and it didn't quite work right. Just went back to SA03 and works like a champ.

Alright! Thanks for confirming, do u go with boost or curve? Im trying the 3250 boost atm.

Thank u! Thank u guys for being an epic community. Struggled some in Diamond but Finally made IT to Master now. I want to share my settings here. Soldier 76 main.

In game sens / hor/ver: 100 ofc.
Aim assist: 100
Aim smoothing: 0
Aim assist window size: 20

Mouse dpi: Razer Deathadder Elite 1800dpi. Trust me guys used to Max dpi but changed to 1800 from 16000 and there is a huge difference, especially on soft mousepad.

Xim hip sensitivity: 65 (its this high because of the low dpi. This equals 8 hip @ 16000dpi.

Y/X Ratio: 1.5

No boost.
Steady AIM SA03
Linear Ramp with this curve:

>>> XIM4 [Mouse Ballistics] START PASTE >>>
