Technical Support / [Q/A] xbox frame drop xbox series s
« on: 11:55 AM - 01/21/23 »
What set up do you recomend I do to stop the frame drops?

xim apex is runing at 125hz both on mouse and on console. sync is on OFF, I also tried default/common/slow. Makes no difference. I am using the original hardware that came with the xim apex.

This isn’t a XIM issue, it’s Xbox One not being able to process 1000Hz USB input. Drop Response Rate to 500Hz and it should resolve. If not, it’s something else causing the problem.

I did, I have tried so many different settings. It never used to be like this on the xbox one x. Now I have upgraded to the xbox series s, its awful with xim apex when the players you interact with in game, have a few second advantage over you.  The players freeze then kill you, taking no damage.

Will it work well with xbox? xim apex caused alot of dropped frames on xbox, however  worked very good on ps5.

I still use xim apex on xbox one s. I get alot of dropped frames in some games seems that the enemy is 2 seconds ahead of me, you could say that is lagg, but I am not lagging ping is very stable.

NO. I think it must be the settings in the xim are not set up for controller? Does xim account for xbox series 2 controllers analog stick calculations (radial)?

How do I use xim for controller only? I did plug a controller in but the aim felt werid, compared to when I just plug the controller in normally to the console.

Yes check your power settings. You must turn off the feature that your console still powers USB ports after shutting down. Depending on your console this can be a default setting used to charge controllers when the console is shut off or in standby mode.

I checked, its on energy saver mode. Does not seem to be an option  to turn off  usb ports.Xbox series s.

However on the titan two, it has an option to turn off the deivce when the console has shut down, and that seems to work. I do not use titan two anymore, only the xim apex. So that is why I requested this feature to be added to the xim apex.

When I turn my xbox off the xim apex should also shut down. so I dont have a constant red light showing on the xim.

Add support for decimal support on the walk speed. Instead of only allowing you to type in a number like 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, ect I want to be able to  type 4.2, 2.2, 3.3 ect.

Whichever feels best to you personally.

I always have enemy soldier movements always about a second ahead of me in the future  it looks like they are out of sync or something which gives them the advantage, not sure if its lagg, or if xim needs a custom sync and polling rate  tailored for xbox on battlefield.

Some Sync settings work better in some games but not others, this is why there are multiple types of sync to choose from. Off sync is the "fastest" sync, taking in more data than others but it also takes in more 0 movements from your mouse which can cause jitter or skipping.

for battlefield v xbox which sync should I use?

I have this problem all the time on battlefield where if I use sync off it will work for a little while then my mouse movements start freezing and locking up.

Is this normal for certain syncs to not too work well on all games?

sync off at 10k dpi felt really nice. shame.

Problem solved.

I bought a powered usb hub 3.0.

Although usb 3.0 doesn't seem to be as compatible as usb 2.0

WIth my usb 2.0  hub my controller will initialize straight away, usb 3.0 I have to press and hold the xbox button on the controller.

Plus it seems usb 2.0 I get better hit reg with it compared to usb 3.0.

so looks like I will have to rebuy the xim apex just to get the offcial hub again, then I can run a power cable to the official xim apex hub. would be nice if you sold the xim apex hub seperately on amazon, then I can buy one with out having to buy xim apex all over again.

Hardware Compatbility / Re: xim apex hub replacement

I noticed USB 3.0 isn't as compatible as usb 2.0.

if I use a usb 2.0 my xbox controller will sync almost straight away and I wont have to press the xbox button logo button on the controller.

with usb 3,0 I have to press the xbox button on the controller to start it up. Plus it seems usb 2.0 I get better hit reg in games. but it always disconnects.

I need a xim apex hub replacement.

I don't want to have to buy the xim apex again, just to have the xim apex hub.

If not possible to buy the xim apex usb hub again, which usb hub is compatible. I bought sabrent usb 2.0  hub, but my controller or keyboard keeps disconnecting.

Is there a specific third party hub I should buy? Ideally I want to buy the xim apex hub again

Still having this issue, ever since I switched to the xbox series s from the xbox one x.

Either my controller or keyboard will disconect, prior to this it was fine, untill I purchased the series s console.
