XIM APEX Discussions / Re: PS5 to XBOX X

I think the reason devices like Xim are so important are for us older gamers. At some point do I at 50 still play zombies at 60? No idea but if I do it won't be with a controller. In the next decade going to be allot of GenX putting down the joysticks. I can't imagine this not hitting the gaming market in some capacity from hours played and the microtransactions. Sony/MS not really interested in keeping the upcoming AARP crowd engaged will cost them some cash at some point.

I'm all set up. I bought CW and Vanguard on sale from the MS store. Everything migrated over regarding skins so all set.

Had an issue with my new Vizio tv. Got a green screen on the PS5. The two 120hz HDMI ports seemed to be freaking out with both consoles connected. Moved the PS5 to one of the other HDMI ports and seems to be error free now.

One thing though, the G502 mouse seemed to disconnect from the hub. Never an issue with the PS5. I have to unplug the Apex to get it to find itself again. The software shows the mouse connected but pushing buttons nothing would register until I unplugged it. I was on an earlier BETA version of the firmware so just updated that so I'm hoping that was the issue.

Question on manager. I wanted to update manager to the newest but when I download on Android, I just get the option to open. Do I need to delete manager from my phone to get the new version to recognize? I really don't want to set up all my configs again.

Not entirely done on the Activision deal. I've always had a multi console household for my son but with the PS5 headache and the controller I didn't drop $500 for my PS5 to play PS4 versions. He doesn't care of course because he grew up on the controller. I used an Atari stick at his age. He is a bit sour because he has his own PS5 and Xbox One and I will now have a PS5 and an Xbox X. Why does dad get the new Xbox :)

I see the other options and I simply have no desire to try them. I like what I have and gaming the system is a drag and I rather (and did) just drop another $500 on the Xbox. I play mostly Save the World, Fallout and COD Zombies. Xbox unfortunately seems the way to go. If the Apex gets me through using that system before the next console refresh I'll be ok. Another kick to the gut is rebuying Cold War, Vanguard and FO76. Not going to wait until this deal finalizes and hope for game pass.

Thanks for the feedback.

Welcome to the community. Due to supply chain issues and worldwide shortages, XIM APEX will be out of stock until that eases up. In the mean time, we will be watching the gaming industry to understand if console mouse adapters make sense.

XIM NEXUS will be out in a couple weeks (hopefully :) ). The website will be changed to reflect that.

What do we mean by console mouse adapters? The Nexus doesn't look like a fit for me.

I'm an older gamer. I mean older. While I don't need to put out ranked gameplay the Xim4 and Apex has kept me competitive. The changes with the PS5 and specifically losing the ability to play Save the World and COD was a decent gut shot.

So with the news of Activision and a fix for PS5 not looking likely I don't think it's worth waiting until next Xmas to buy the Xbox X and I ordered one today.

What should I expect with changing over. I assume I need to remap for the Xbox on the Xim software but can I expect the Apex to just work with the Xbox? I'm concerned about linking the Nav controller again. Hoping to just plug in the Xbox and everything works. Will it be that easy?

Not thrilled about needing to buy Vanguard again.

I have a PS5 arriving in a few days and purchased the Hori FPS + in anticipation of teh issues with controllers.

Few questions:

1. If I update to the new beta firmware wanted to confirm no issues will be had with playing on the PS4 currently?

2. Any issues with the Sony Nav controller either after updating the beta firmware or on the PS5?

I'm using a PS3 nav controller and I need the L3 to run a multikey keystroke. Doing so on the mouse is a non issue but how do I use the L3 on my nav controller to run 2 keys at once? Seems I can only use a single key in the Apex configs.

I got the same problem and I'm seeing a ton of posts on this. My issue is my controller stops working. Controller is 100% charged. Sometimes I can play for 30 minutes and sometimes just 2 minutes. My bar light on the controller turns off.

I had another 2.0 ISB hub from Dtech that didn't work at all.

I have a wireless nav controller,  g502 that I turned off all the lights and a ps4 controller that I used 3 different cables for.

I'm thinking after 2 years of no issues the hub is failing.

I cant find one recent thread that lists working hubs. I don't care about buying one just need to know one that works. I prefer one that doesn't need to be plugged in but will use whatever at this point.
I am having the exact same issue. I am also using a wireless nav controller and the g502, but I am on Xbox. My controller is fully charged yet it keeps turning off (as in the Xbox logo on the controller is not illuminated). My mouse and the nav controller do not work either. I have to unplug and plug in the Xim to get it working again.

Use a different port for the controller.  Turns out slot with the 1 dot is bad. If your moving the controller like I do every now and then it was losing connection because of the bad port.

Still like to know if after the virus slows down and we get back to normal will you be selling just the hubs?

Ok, so I thought it may have been the usb ports on the controllers so I got one of my sons off his. Everything great for 20 minutes then the mouse would turn off. I wiggled the mouse USB in slot 1 and it would turn on and off. Moved mouse to slot 2 and all looks good.

From what I now gather I have a bad usb slot 1 which is fine if the other 2 keep working.

Can we get these hubs repaired  or buy separately?

I've used 3 usb data cables. Two of them were from brand new ps4 controllers that were still in the original packaging. I have those 2, the one I was using and a 4th used from a Corsair headset and they all had the same issue. I also moved my controller to different spots thinking one of the usb ports went bad. Has worked and then failed on all 3.

Also, I tried 2 different controllers. When the controller loses connection I can still use the mouse and nav controller. Just cant use the ps4 controller and if I want to I need to unplug from the ps4.

When the controller stops working I can still see mouse and nav movements in manager.

Also, controller seems to stop working right after I go to it to use the track pad for instance.

Hardware Compatbility / Hub Replacement

Like others my Apex hub is now a little over a year old and my port for mouse works sometimes and doesn't others. Just unreliable.

Has anyone bought a new hub that works as well as the OEM hub? Looking for an online retailer.

Yes, the look mechanic with the mouse is absolute trash. Using the FO4 config for now. Hope something becomes available soon so I can play.
