Quick question about Aim assist window. With linear im curious what everyone is running for certain heroes. I keep changing it up and down and can't figure out where to keep it.

So I'm trying to switch to this new linear mode. I'm using the razer death adder chroma at 10k dpi and I'm having trouble getting the boost mode right with no curve. I'm confused with what I'm looking for. It says to lower it until it feels smooth right before it cuts out. Can anybody explain exactly what I'm looking for here? Nobody else seems to use my mouse or setup so it's hard to just know what boost to set it too.

Picked up the g502 last night. I must say it's smooth as butter. I run mcree with a much lower boost than you do but haven't really tried to see what feel I like with it. But the higher DPI than the razer is completely different. 10k DPI and 500 polling with the razer was impossible to aim with yet 12k and 1000 polling with the G5 is super smooth. I have no idea why but every shot and movement was exactly what I was looking for. Played with 2 others last night and won 10 games in a row only playing genji. Up to 4071 whitch is my season high and it's only gonna get better tonight. Thanks size you pretty much pushed me in the right direction.

Also if anyone else on here need help with genji I've been attempting to stream but for some reason twitch doesn't save my previous broadcasts. Working on figuring that out so I can post some stuff.

Mind if you post your settings for Genji?  I believe you need to enable it in the twitch settings on the website but not too sure.  I remember doing this before.

Lemme know your stream, Im down to watch it as I need to improve my genji.

Thanks man I got it figured out and yes I did have to enable it on twitch.tv so I should be up and running. Stream will be live tonight and save past streams for 14 days if you miss it.

I've been playing with my hip sense a lot and I've been practicing from 10-20 trying to figure out what I like best. Also been going from 1000 boost to 1250 a lot as well but as I up my hip sense I lower my boost same vice versa as I lower hip sense I raise boost. I know the sweet spot is in there somewhere.

Yes I am using a big cloth mouse pad. And that wouldn't be the first time I heard that about razer products. At least for the mouse. I also read in some other threads about how they just seem to not work correctly with the xim4. And also that the g502 seems to be the most popular and loved mouse to use. I've already considered buying one just mainly because I started playing with the Sony nav controller and like that there is more buttons directly on the mouse which would also be great for bf1 and cod. Gonna order one here soon and see what I think. I would really like to see what I can do with it. Thanks man I really appreciate your input and defientely just need to continue getting used to the xim4.

P.S. I make a living off of making mcrees flash banging themselves and rolling away in fear haha but maybe if they make overwatch cross platform we can test it out. Ill probably hit you up again on getting new mouse setup if I need help

I love everything you said about team comp and gameplay. I'm the same way if I lose a match I get off and always watch pro gameplay before I start to hype myself up. Also play with the same couple guys same sr as I every night.. Never a 6 man but always try to get everyone in team chat as communication is key to high level gameplay.

So I've been on monitor way before I bought my xim. But I'm running a Benq Rl2455 and I want to know if you think there is still a difference with input lag on mine. It's one of there lower end monitors and wasn't really sure what to get gaming on console.


My one other thing is AA.

So like I said I play a lot of genji I have 300 hours on him combined between qp and both seasons of comp. I've been trying to run 60 and 80 aa because genji isn't hitscan and it makes it easier to lead shurikens from a distance but when you dash in and your trying to hit those right clicks (ex: when Lucio is just hopping around the payload) it's much harder to land those shots. And that's key to genji play because it's all about your resets.  So really I feel like I'm doing something wrong with how I'm aiming my mouse. I feel like I aim with my wrist like yourself and played a little mcree last night and did very well with it. Got up to 3784 as well which puts me in top 500 on Xbox. But that's because I jumped up to 95 AA even with genji.

Reading this over I probably come across like I've kinda already figured out what works for me but I still don't feel that way. If you have any insight on either what I might be doing wrong with how I'm aiming to combat AA or if something is going on with my monitor.

I main genji or zarya are really the only characters I play. Sitting at 3600sr right now and I can't seem to get it up from there. I've been at 8k DPI 500 polling with 20 hip sens and only use boost with genji or tracer. Just been doing a lot of tweaking with aa and boost but I feel like something's missing. Mainly just having issues with making 180 turns and don't know if I just need to up my DPI and polling to fix that or if I need to bump up my boost higher than 1000. Just any ideas you might have it seems we've probably done about the same amount of research but you might have some insight on something I'm missing.

I'm currently top 5 and all the xim users I know are running the same curve DPI as I am. Try my post above if you like. Just understand almost everyone's setup is a little different in ways of preferred sensitivity for certain heroes and mainly depends on what you play and also your equipment. There is no perfect setup yet and I'm still working on it along with many others but as for now this thread really has everything that's out there being used now.

Honestly if you enjoy gaming and want to get better a monitor should have been your investment way before xim. The two combined is unreal though and you can notice the difference immediately after you try it. I was playing on a 55 in Samsung for years and could never understand how people could so much better than I. I just thought I sucked at gaming until I bought a 24 in monitor.... changed everyhing

I think your more than likely experiencing some input lag on your tv and the size is defenitly effecting your ability to run a higher sensitivity. I would recommend investing in a monitor should be your priority by now. I am going to start the streams at 9pm central on twitch. I will post stream name and everything later today.

Here is the curve I use and most people using xim on overwatch would agree to using it. Copy on your phone then go to xim app, mouse, advanced and click the down arrow on the left next to your curve to paste it. You should see it change right away.

Read this thread it may help you understand curves better. Once you try the curves I think you will notice an immediate difference.

What size is your tv?

No worries I am new to the xim and mouse play on fps as well. I bought this all to compete in overwatch at a higher level. As for your sensitivity it could be the mouse your using even though your running the same dpi as I am. And also depends if your playing on a monitor or larger tv. When I started I was running about the same xim sense as you until I got comfortable with the mouse but the curves do help combat that.

Overwatch has a time based excelleration that kicks in as you turn to aim and the curves help you customize from the initial 1:1 ratio the xim starts at. The biggest difference I noticed with the curves is that it allows you to control vertical aim more then anything witch is key in overwatch. I can try and help you figure some better settings.
