Game Support / Re: BO4 My Advanced Setup (20181216)

I'm pretty surprised at how well I'm doing with these settings. I bought the game like a week ago and am at rank 50 now. I usually do 1.0-1.5, my last 10 game avg is 1.4.

First game with RML's settings I did 12-7. I know its not very good but it felt above average for me.

Then I tweaked it since something felt a bit off and used Jeffpaw96 's tweak - changed ADS to 4 smoothing and 550 boost. Then I had a 28-4 game. This was with an Auger running High Caliber 1 and long barrel only lol. Both the 12-7 game and the 28-4 game were with the same lobby on the same map and both with the Auger. This setup rocks.

Does this happen to anyone? In D2 wgenever i try to dismantle a weapon it keeps cancelling when i hold down the square button to dismantle (i have square binded to r)

Not just you, was wondering if there was something wrong with my G502.

no curve. linear + ccc + 3500 boost

edit: now I've spent some time with it something feels off...I think it's the diagonals.

Am I the only one perfectly fine with the new settings? Feels pretty good to me, havent done any extensive testing but 180s with genji feel really smooth and fast.

PS4
1000 polling
12k dpi
Console Controller Crossover
3500 boost
Linear aim
X/Y Ratio 1.51
Varying sensitivities ranging from 10-15
25 AW, 100 AA

Im really liking this so far. So consistent! But what about angle snapping for g502 users?

You guys turn it on or off? I turned it off when i used the expo and 0 aim smoothing because it felt like it dragged a bit im wondering what you guys are doing with it now?

Whats up with people with g502 going less than 12kdpi? I thought you were supposed to max mouse settings. Whats the benefit to keeping it lower?

It's more precise and smoother.

Fastest isn't better.

The people who give advice here should post their gamer tags and their current SR points so you know whatever they do is actually working

According to the Xim official instructions you're supposed to max out your mouse DPI and adjust the sensitivity based on the hip in the manager.

So what I'm wondering is what the benefit is in going against that recommendation. I thought it's more accurate the higher the mouse dpi and 'faster' has to do with the hip sens.

Also going 5.75 with hitscan. It feels great. Never was very good with hitscan but its wrecking. Going 7 for genji and tracer occasionally adjusting boost and by decimals. Have went up to like 7.5 and put boost down occasionally as i feel those point blank headshot shiruken melees can be tough to track and boost actually doesnt help at all in those scenarios.

Havent decided 100 percent but its def with boost no more than 25 or so and hip no more than 8. Dash 180 melees are fine with a large mousepad.

Yeah that's gotta be it. Whatever works, I used some huge boost numbers back before this latest ST.

Anyways for Genji I think I've got a really solid setup now. I've been hitting fan shiruken melee combos point blank a lot more now and can track well with primary fire from a distance.

So G502 max settings, NO angle snapping, 7.45 hip, 20 boost and an ADS for dragon blade. Also 93 Aim Assist (yes that high, 95 felt a bit too sticky and 90 didn't compensate for the boost enough for primary fire shirukens from midrange), circle and dot reticule. I switched from short crosshairs and it made a huge difference for me.

I always wondered why I tracked so well with Zarya and not as well with Genji trying for point blank fan shiruken melee combos and I think it's because I lost track of the short crosshairs more easily in brighter environments. The circle and dot made a big difference didn't think I'd ever use it but it's really nice for Genji.

I'd like to see what other Genji players think of these settings.

I was thinking of posting something like this. I wish we could get more discussion on these two.

Ive been going all over the place and cant find anything satisfactory. Its a shame that linear is so broken...i wonder if a curve could fix that deadzone issue though so we could actually aim and take advantage of the turnspeeds too?

I was getting happy with 1250 boost with 7.0 to 7.75ish with my g502 before st.4 but now ive switches to 6.5 with like 20 boost. Feels pretty good and had some good games but its not ideal.

Trying to balance between keeping turnspeeds okay and keeping control is tough. With genji you need ace precision combined with fast turnspeeds. A lower sens might be great for point blank fan and melee combo tracking but what about a dash180 melee combo where your enemy can turn around faster than you? Its tough to get right.

Also aim assist is a pain to deal with since youre looking around so much. Dash180 melee in a crowd while going after a mercy can be hellish with the slowdown but without it, aiming is tough.

I turned my boost way down and it feels pretty good! Going to keep tweaking between my hip sens and boost but right now its like double digit boost and single digit hip for g502 maxed.

Right now im at 25 boost and 7.5 hip with g502 at 12kdpi and 1000hz and no angle snapping. Genji feels pretty good. Maybe not as quick feeling but up close its much easier to hit the fan headshot melee combo. Something still feels off about flicking fan shirukens while double jumping and making rapid adjustments.

I decided to turn off angle snapping. It drags and feels too floaty for me at lower sensitivities.

I have no idea how anyone plays at 22. You may feel like youre turning fast but max speedcap means that theres no going faster no matter how much or fast you move your mouse.

I dunno in theory i can see how always being at max turn means you can develop a consistent muscle memory based on that but 22?

I have an ads setting set up for dragonblade and its not even at 22. More like 15. With that slash dash 180 slash is pretty easy.

How do you track or aim upclose? Hit headshots? Esp with 0 aim smoothing on expo?

So I think I'm close to a sweet spot with Genji/Tracer but it doesn't feel 100% yet...

-G502 max settings
-6.75 hip
-650 boost

But I keep reading about people using little to no boost and now I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong here. I have to be able to adjust my direction very quickly to play properly as I'm constantly moving, double jumping and dashing or hopping above and behind my opponent.

So I need to be able to track while simultaneously have quick turn speeds and a snappy feel. It's a tough balance to get right. If I put my sensitivity too high with low or no boost, then I can get quick turns but my tracking suffers. I thought I found a good middle ground with a lower sensitivity and then a relatively high boost.

Anyone have any advice or thoughts? I'm thinking of maybe keeping the above ratio or something close and raising the sensitivity while lowering boost but I'm not sure.

Hey guys can anyone help me out? I've been having 2 weird bugs.

One is that sometimes my ultimates immediately go off...I have no idea what it is or how to recreate it. Whether its the game or the xim or my controller. No clue, but every once in a while it happens. No idea what to do about it.

Second is that every time I try to rename a profile, Xim4 crashes or turns white and stops working.

Any ideas on work arounds or fixes?

just got 72 slim game with zarya. best game I've had. tracking felt great with beam. doing well with genji too.

A new ST will likely fix that, but I'm not sure Linear would be any better than Expo + 0 Smooth. We'll find out soon enough.

It's not. Don't fall for the name 'linear', it's name does not make it better. The linear aim mode removes precision movement. 0% smoothness is the real improvement.

This. Even the folks using pad agree. The linear is @#$% at the moment but the aim smoothing slider makes a nice difference.

It feels more consistent.

That said, it still doesn't feel 100% perfect, either that or I need to get used to it. Are we going to get an updated ST to account for Expo+0 Aim smoothing or some minimal amount of aim smoothing?
