XIM APEX Discussions / PS5 Support on PS5/x1x only games

Hey everyone, returned to these forums after a bit (I have mostly been playing PC exclusively) but am returning to the consoles for Returnal. I already see that there isn’t planned support yet because it is a PS5 exclusive.

My question/s is/are:

I see the work around for ps5 games is to use a 3rd party ps4 controller. However, I thought for PS5 only games that any ps4 controller won’t work and a PS5 Dualsense is required atm. Is this the case? Is this third party solution only a temporary solution and has Sony nearly successfully blocked the use of the xim?

This curiosity is partially coming from I think Returnal would have definitely received support if it was a PS4 game.

Anyone tried the Razer Basilisk Ultimate? Should be similar but heavier I guess. Same sensor. I just need more buttons with my setup.

Don't have it but it's probably exactly as you said. Uses the same tech, same sensor same feet, but more buttons and heavier. I imagine it's basically a g502 but better.

Before I went to the gpro wireless (and now model o) I used the basilisk. It is a great mouse and i prefer it over the g502

Everything transfers 100% if you use the same activision accounts. Also, the xim MW ST 1 and 2 doesn’t work well with the PC version.  There is a huge deadzone so you can’t make micromovements.

This is false, Apex works great on PC version of MW.

The MW St does not work great on PC. At all. I can move my mouse slowly (not even that slow really) and it doesn’t register that I am moving it in game.

Try adding boost. 200-500 to test.

Using SweatyPapis settings w/ dynamic works well in ST2. I an using 1.5 ADS in game settings though. I still think a new ST should be with that.

So I changed my St v1 names and forced new download. How do I know that I have ST v2? When I click on the picture both my old ones and new say X1.1.

Nop if you are on PC, platform has priority over input method.

Meaning,
if you are on PC and play with mouse & keyboard you go vs PC players.
if you are on PC and play with a controller you go vs PC players (regardless its input)

That is incorrect. You get matched up with controller players. It is input based.

The only problem I have with the mouse is I am getting resistance and some squeaking/scraping with the left pointer finger button.

Yes. It means that many (any?) popular game that comes out on Friday likely won’t start having an ST designed for until the following Monday.

I am shocked and saddened by all the posts I see in the last few pages of this thread... I feel bad for Mist and the other moderators here that they must deal with this influx of impatient people requesting and demanding this ST yesterday.

What do y’all want from this small group whom brought you amazing hardware AND software that you can’t get anywhere else??

STs typically take Mist anywhere from 3-7 days to get out. If he gets one out quicker than that it’s an edge case and a blessing. There are a few threads in the forums in which they explain the process of building and ST - the key is TIME. It takes the software and Mist TIME to compile all the data and then create what we will take for granted in a weeks time.

It’s not like you can’t play with other STs until the official release .... or ... play with a controller. Sheesh.

Anyways... keep it up Mist. Thanks for working hard on this for us.

This is tame compared to what occurred during the xim apex prerelease.
