Title: [ACTIVE] Sony Nav Problem
Post by: KGB285 on 02:41 PM - 05/30/20
Hello, when i connect my Navigation controller to the xim apex, it does not show up in the XIM Manger app and automatically connects to the PS4 instead of the XIM. The controller and the navigation controller both connect seperately, i dont know what the problem is here, can anyone help?

Have you can connected the nav controller to XIM with its cable?

NAV off
XIM off
Controller in XIM Port 3 "..."
NAV in XIM Port 1 "."
XIM on
Connect manager and make sure NAV shows up
Unplug NAV
Confirm wireless NAV shows up in manager

This happens to me ALOT .
In order to fix this..
1.fully charge nav con .
2.unplug xim
3.nav connected to port 1, while controller connected to port 3.
4. Plug xim back into console . Have manager up and ready give it some time for nav to connect.
Repeat this if it's not connected.

Another solution while ur nav con is connected to the ps4 instead of the xim is hold the PS button until it turn off then connect it to port 1 in the xim and wait for the connection. If that doesn't work keep unplugging xim and refreshing the xim manger.

Are you sure its fully charged ? It will stop flashing red when its fully charged.  Also make sure you using a proper cable its important to be using the original cables that come with ps3 cables dont use those thin ones .

What do you mean by flashing red? So like it does not show any red dot at all?

The ps3 nav shows a solid red dot, but it does not flash, so i can confirm it is fully charged

Checking the charge is a good place to start. The nav should be charged with a PC or console that is not from Playstation to avoid it sycing to a PS4 or PS3. It can't be charged with most USB chargers.

Once the nav light stops blinking while charging then it's charged and can be tested again. If it's still not recognized by APEX in Manager try swapping ports on the hub. If it's still not recongized then testing other mini USB data cables is the next step.

Did you say that your console controller is also not recognized?

I have 4 navs and they all work and connect to the xim.  If it connects to the ps4 I just hold the ps button till it turns off then I plug it into the xim till it connects

I tried it out? I held the ps button on the nav till it disconnects but after trying so many times trying to connect it to the XIM i just gave up, i dont know why it wont pair with the XIM Apex.

Because you've tried other more common fixes you could try using a power adapter next. There was another user with the same issue right before you. To sum it up their nav is fully charged, works with their console but isn't recognized by XIM. Adding a power adapter allowed the nav to be recognized and used by XIM. Nav's have been out of production for years I believe, their batteries are old at this point. If your nav battery becomes a problem there should be video tutorials on youtube on how to replace it.

A popular choice is the Atolla 5V 3A 3.5mm x 1.35mm power adapter. The APEX hub requires this spec:

5V 3A power adapter  ([3.5mm x 1.35mm], center-positive)

You don't need a charger for the Navi. It's usually a bad cable , buy a better quality and shorter cable and throw away the one that came with your navi. The mouse and Navi plug in reverse to the online tutorial. Navi in 1 mouse in 2.  You can use a powered USB hub as well on input 1 might help. Also you don't want the cable to be too long or there will be too much voltage drop. Use a short one.
