SIDE COMMENTS:

+ If you are new with XIM, try this config.

+ If you are advance XIM player, feel free to use your own XIM sensitivity, however all the in-game settings  (Sensitivity, Deadzone and Aim Zoom) must be the same posted on this guide to ensure uniform aim and optimum XIM performance.

+ This settings are for a 33.~ cm / 360į turn, a large cloth mouse pad is recommended.

+ I have the game on PC, this config was build to replicate PC aim, this is the closest I get.

+ I don't post curves, because I'm advocate of no-acceleration movement for better aim.
This Config is precise enough to play without aim assist, so curves are not needed to combat the aim assist.

+ Playing without Aim Assist is recommended for a more PC like experience. Set SAB to 0.

+ Playing with Aim Assist is supported, set SAB to 75.

+ Vehicles. *Coming soon*.
Meanwhile, I suggest create a Vehicle sub-config and use Turn Assist to turn.

Question, if I use my sensitivity for hip ads xim, I have to put the same parameter x1 x1.25 x2 and I had the same sensitivity in all scop?
Title: Re: Battlefield V - Official ST Optimized Settings.
Post by: alanmcgregor on 03:13 AM - 11/25/18
Yes, but your HIP sensitivity must me the same value on ADS.

eg. if you use 12k DPI and 6 HIP, then on this config your HIP must be 6 and ADS 6 too.
HIP and ADS should feel the same regardless scopes.

And if my hip 10 and 5 ads at 12000 dpi, worth zoom value will not go? I just want the same sensitivity in the zoom, my hip i want it higher than my ads

I don't know what it is but this game just doesn't feel as good for me on a mouse as any of the other Battlefield games did.

Must be the lower turn cap.  :'(

The turn cap is very high in this game.

Do we use hip translator on ads page?

For these settings, no. Only if using USA.

Must be the lower turn cap.  :'(

The turn cap is very high in this game.

It's high, but not as high, so my preferred method of arm aiming doesn't feel as fluid for me as it did in BF4, etc.

Problem with Common Rose,

How do i access some of the items like thumps up or somenof the conquest team objectives assignments?

The issue for me is, i play a lot as team leader and want to assign objectives all the time. It is really hard to assign, if i remember correct B and D objectives as pressing down goes to C and e.g.  pressing downleft goes to A. I need to somehow pull my mouse downleft to try to hit B which often gets me killed as i spent way too much time fiddling with the commands.

Also sometimes even selecting something simple like objectives C is not registered.

Any ideas how this could be fixed or if i am doing something wrong

Aim assist off if you want to go beast mode on this game.

Definitely!! Aim assist and aim assist slow down can be very inconsistent and mess up your muscle memory.. highly recommend everyone to turn both off!

You're welcome fellas.  ;D

And if my hip 10 and 5 ads at 12000 dpi, worth zoom value will not go? I just want the same sensitivity in the zoom, my hip i want it higher than my ads
You can do it, the Zoom values I came up (by doing tests and measurements) guarantee that your ADS should be the TRUE half (in this case) of your HIP sensitivity, regardless the scopes :) just set in-game the values I specify.

In other games, you can use the same HIP and ADS values and both will have the same sensitivity.
Battlefield V is different: Scopes affects the ADS sensitivity, making it faster or slower.

That's why is so important that you set the values for Zoom on this config, this will give you an uniform aim sensitivity.

I don't know what it is but this game just doesn't feel as good for me on a mouse as any of the other Battlefield games did.

Must be the lower turn cap.  :'(
For the record in the game play I posted, I didn't felt hinder by the turn cap and my XIM never flashed. But it might be me I learnt to ride it. Can't say the same on R2D2, turn cap is very annoying.

Will give it a try! Thanks men.

Is it possible you copy your configuration code here so i can paste it in the Xim app?
Sure. I didn't because ST is only the half-solution.

Setting the in-game with the values is equally important, specially with the Aim Zoom Scopes % to have a uniform aim sensitivity.

Thank you for your comments and patience. Got my inbox full flooded by requests to share my settings. I know this settings will make you enjoy this great game.

This will give you best PC aim feeling, if you turn off AA and I suggest to change your SAB to 0 also.

How do i access some of the items like thumps up or somenof the conquest team objectives assignments?
....
Any ideas how this could be fixed or if i am doing something wrong
Yeah is tricky, it has that limitation using WASD on your Right Stick.

What I used to do: create a sub-config and swap the thumb-sticks:
mouse = left thumb-sticks and WASD = right thumb-sticks

Using Sony Nav (Analog) and works perfectly. But there is something about the implementation DICE did on the game.

I mean on R2D2, I swap the sticks and give me a working 8 directional selection. On this game, this doesn't work at all... don't even register input. I don't know why, OBsIV must know better... maybe I have to increase the SAB for this? mmh, going to try it.

My personal solution is to use the turn-assist. Assign middle mouse button as activation key. So, when you hold R1 to enter commonrose, you just have to also hold the middle mouse button and the result is that your mouse acts as the PS4 joystick (as soon as you peg the mouse into a certain direction it keeps that direction until you peg the mouse into a different direction). Itís easier to select intermediate orders. Try this solution and let me know if it works for you.

All right, I got it.

A better work around for the commo rose, this will make all the rose options reachable and easy to control with the mouse.

LOL dr_soldier, that's how I did it. hehe. -just saw your post-

Nice.

The only difference I did, for a better control selection (try it) and not flare up the max-turn notification (XIM flashing red lights)
Commo Rose Sensitivity sub-config:
Aim: 1.00
Turn Assist: Key or button of your preference.

Deadzones
Left Joystick: 15000
Right Joystick: 15000

Going to update the guide in a bit.

Can't you just swap sticks? Or maybe this just works with Nav? I used to use Turn Assist for como rose prior to Apex.

Have you incorporated any of the 3 new settings into your config. Namely: analog stick movement, boost, or Steady aim...

My settings are working great for me otherwise I'd give your settings a try with probably higher xim sens. !

Again, is very IMPORTANT that you set the game as is explained on the guide. ST is the half.
NOTICE: I'm using: Razer Orbweaver keypad you might find a very weird keybinds because of it, like Jump with Left Alt and Arrow Keys for gadgets.

If you play with AA,
SAB = 75, helps with aiming without drifting the left stick
Boost. adds acceleration; no recommended or needed.
Steady Aim, also can alter the 1:1 movement.

In short, the new features are optional. Not required and wasn't use while creating this ST.

SA is to combat Aim Assist, give this ST a try without AA you will be amaze how good it is, as others fellas point it out you go beast mode.  ;D

1.) so if my HIP and ADS @ 15 are waaaay too sensitive, i can lower both as long as they match right?

2.) once moving over to the sniper i realized it was way too sensitive as well, what do i do? create a sniping ST or just continuosly adjust the sensitivity?

Yep, lower both if you feel it too high.

The HIP and ADS values that I posted are personal preference.

If you prefer lower ADS sensitivity for sniping, you can do it too.

I play with aim assist slow down, Ill try that SAB at 75 see if it feels any different. It probably won't since BFV is made for both pc and console so I don't think aim assist is affected by the exact inputs given by a keyboard.

I used the sub config settings in the thread but I have a problem because I always bind my melee button to the middle mouse button. So that doesnt work well for me. The other issue I am experiencing is that I seem to be bouncing back and forth with the toggle key. Let me explain.
So I have the RB button bound to my Q button on my keyboard, spot/hold for commo rose. Then under an auxiliary sub config I have renamed to commo rose(never knew I could rename it, lol.) Under that menu, i have the activation button set to Q. Then, i think under turn assist instead of the middle mouse button I have it set to activate with the right mouse button. (Same button I use for  scoping in / ads. Now here is were I have the issue. I keep bouncing back and forth between toggling that button to access the commo rose. Mind you all the while I'm still holding down the Q key. But I find when I dont select toggle, it doesnt select the commo rose command. Even when its highlighted and I release the Q button. When I have it set to toggle what I do it Hold the Q button first, then press the right mouse button, granted it makes me scope in but I can live with that , then I select what command to use, it is highlighted. Then I release the Q button. The problem is Sometimes it works Sometimes it doesnt. I think where the issue lies is the timing of releasing the mouse button, then Q. If that makes any sense. As far as the other settings for the sub config I have them set the same as described except for changing the middle mouse button to right mouse button. And the squad leader commo rose is even trickier, cause I got to hold three buttons down. Any ideas, suggestions, help? Am I complicating this way too much?

Instead of middle mouse button, assign an unused key of your keyboard. You will just have to hold R1 to access commo rose and in the same time hold the other key to use turn assist. In my case, I use the E key. The problem on your case is that you use the right mouse button as ę turn assist Ľ while this key is the activation key of a sub config (ADS). I donít know if itís supported by the xim firmware. When you try to activate commo rose sub config, you also press right mouse button so it goes back to the other  sub config (ADS). Donít you think so ?

The Config is for XIM APEX only and with the latest Firmware [20181109] and Manager [20181109].

For XIM4, I'm not sure if config offers the same performance on XIM4. I need to try it, use my XIM4 and setup my measurement gadget and start to run tests (no too excited about).

JediLeatherwood you just need to figure out a better layout.

I agree with dr_soldier recommendations.

If you are going to use the same Spotting button(key) to activate the commo rose sub-config,

My humble suggestion is:

At the commo rose sub-config.
On Turn Assist use the same button or key you have bind on Sprint bind (L3|LS)
Then Remove the Sprint bind (L3|LS), set to NONE. Save.

It should feel more natural to use, you brain is used to it, had this button associate as a "go faster".

Give it a try.

Added XIM4 ST Config, includes Commo Rose working.

IMPORTANT: FIRST Set up your in-game with the sensitivity values, deadzone and Soldier Aim Zoom specify on this guide.

By default with XIM Sensitivity of 20.00 gives you a 25.~ cm 360 degree turn.

Same directions:
+ Change your sensitivity to your liking.
+ Use the same HIP and ADS sensitivity for uniform aim on HIP and ADS regardless the scopes.

Tested on XIM4

Thank you for your time to do this for XIM4 users. Almost felt forgotten on this sub :p

I did everything step by step and I must say it didn't fit me well. My playstyle is PTFO sniper who likes to quickscope with the 3x scope. The sensitivity felt with the 3x scope way to fast and hip was to slow to my liking. I dropped the 3x scope to 100% and play with 30hip30ads. I still need to find the sweetspot!

I set both Aim Assist settings to OFF, so I should not need to set the Simulate Analog Behavior and keep it as 0, am I correct ?

And for the Commo Rose, I think just set a key for turn assist, that will be enough.

Your battlefront2 ST was as good as official's, or even better in some scenarios. But I went to Official's ST for more further optimize.

Right now, I've got a sensitivity issue about assault's PIAT. I think it's too fast for me, but I can't find which X Scope sensitivity setting working on it. Could you please help me to solve this issue ? Thanks.

In secondary buttons, assing one key to the 2 buttons. If you only use the V1 rocket, also assign this key to "mouse up". If you don't, you can create a sub-config with turn assist that activates when you press that key.

JediLeatherwood you just need to figure out a better layout.

I agree with dr_soldier recommendations.

If you are going to use the same Spotting button(key) to activate the commo rose sub-config,

Okay I think I got the regular commo rose set. I have it set to my q key on keyboard and the r key as turn assist with toggle off under the commo rose sub config. It works good but what I noticed is that you must release the r key on q key on keyboard then release the r key on keyboard after, then it works.
Now for the squad commo rose what I did was in another sub config I set the secondary key binds for both lb/rb as my v/lb key on keyboard then the b/rb key on keyboard. At first I set both lb/rb to one key but to finish the sqaud command it wouldn't work. I then set the turn assist to my right mouse button, with toggle on. then went under actions and deleted the right mouse button key bind. ( so when I activated the commo rose my scope wouldn't come up. For whatever reason this was the only way it worked because apparently when you select what sqaud command you want to use you have to release the rb button first then the lb button (on the controller originally.) That is why I have those buttons binded to the v and b key on the keyboard. Basically I select which sqaud command I want then release the b key then the v key, in that order. It sounds very complex but it feels like a very natural motion.

1.50X Zoom Sensitivity: N/A
2.00X Zoom Sensitivity: 132%
2.50X Zoom Sensitivity: N/A

Go to the Secondary set of binds. There bind/map the same key(or button) to a two different controller buttons. That's it.
Like:
R1 = E
L1 = E

this has to do with the Antialiasing of the game, which currently cannot be turned off on consoles (even on PC it can only be turned off by config, but ends up in graphic errors). Some german streamer said Dice will be working on it to make it off-turnable, but no one knows when this feature will be available. So for now, everybody just have to deal with that.

As is mention on the first page, is to have a Uniform Aim sensitivity, without using USA (not supported by XIM).

Granted, bigger scopes than 2.5.00X will need and different setting, with the current weapons I have in the game, I only can test and calibrate lower scopes for uniform sensitivity. When more scopes are available and the practice range option, I see updating the scopes values and a higher mouse DPI to be able to tune bigger scopes.

Question:

Given USA off.
If in my video settings I turn OFF ADS FOV option such that when I aim a 1.00 zoom weapon, it will actually change my FOV and zoom in closer. Will this affect my aiming speed or will I have to increase/decrease to keep it consistent with the ADS zoom that I had when my ADS FOV option was turned on.

I might try this because when I zoom in it's nice to have a bigger target, especially at midrange.

If you don't use USA and play with ADS FOV on, you will have to change your sensitivity in order to maintain the same feel.

For example, when you play with 95 FOV with ADS FOV on, aiming with the long range scope is going to feel ~50% slower than default.

As a left-handed player, I use the left hand for the mouse, and the number pad for weapons, sprint, etc. In BF1, I was able to assign individual numbers to individual actions e.g. NUMPAD 4 = throw grenade, NUMPAD 5 = Throw Kit, NUMPAD 6 = Auxiliary Weapon, etc.

The BFV ST only allows me to scroll horizontally or vertically. Is there a way to assign specific keys to specific actions, or has the method of choosing actions changed from BF1?

Hope this makes sense - I'm new to the forums.

Cheers,

Lance

you note that itís OK to play with aim assist enabled as long as you set ďSABĒ to 75.

1. Which type of AA are you referring to - slowdown, lock-on or both?

2. What are your thoughts on leaving lock-on AA enabled in-game specifically for the purposes of sniping/quickscoping? i run a slower sync in destiny for this reason

ETA: i canít navigate through submenus after adding the commo rose profile. i can press L1 to cycle backwards through weapons/subclasses/etc, but it doesnít register  when i try to go forward using R1 (bound to E) since that key is also tied to the subconfig. any help?

So I just tried this (with the correct firmware/manager) and it... feels legit just bad. I copy/pasted your config (also using an orbweaver) and changed all the correct settings. The only difference is that I use 12k dpi so I changed the sens to 6 and 6. The ads is faster than hip... is that supposed to happen? Cause I have no clue how you would play like that. And yes, all my in game settings were changed.

Thť same  for me, impossible to play whith this 😟

Commo Rose works about 90% of the time, meaning I release activation key after highlighting my choice and 10% of the time nothing happens.  I made a Squad Rose with a different key and it probably works 10% of the time.  If I have points to spend for my squad it seems to make the Commo Rose fail even more.   Both of them work great in terms of bringing up the menu and easily picking what you want.  It's just when you release the activation key there's alot of failure for the Squad Rose and sometimes even for the Commo Rose.  Thanks for this guide. It does help.  Just wish I could figure out whats going wrong.

You probably have USA ON. Just turn down your xim sensitivity for ADS until you feel comfortable.

If you followed the exact steps in setting up the settings. they should feel and move the same. cm/360 will be same.
I followed a simpler approach and just have different Xim sens for hip and aim.

I do not think that this setting has been optimized.
Because HIP is too late, and ADS is too fast.

Here's what I do: Press/hold the hotkey (I think E in the OP).  This brings up the commo rose.  Then hold down the mouse forward button (also in the OP if I recall, its a side button on my mouse).  Then move the mouse where you want to highlight.  I don't have to press any other buttons to get where I want to be in the menu.  Just move the mouse around.  This entire process works great for me 100% of the time.  My problem is when I let go of the E key, nothing happens.  Even with my choice highlighted.

Again: Press/Hold E, Press Mouse Forward Button, Move Mouse to highlight choice and then release E.

what they meant is that the optimal setup is just the one with which you perform best and are comfortable, which for future reference is how most people here would define it. it sounds like for you that means 1:1 input, equivalent or as close as possible to PC, but others might involve things like curves, which add acceleration, or choose to emphasize AA rather than reducing or eliminating it like you would if your goal was to mirror aiming on PC. in other words i think you and the other guy were just thinking of ďperfectionĒ in different ways

can anyone tell me whether it would make sense to use these in-game settings for BF1? IIRC the recommended settings just say to max soldier stick/zoom sens while leaving everything else (coefficients, dead zones etc) default, whereas the ones here go into much greater depth. this has input threshold at 5%, for example, vs the official thread at 100%.

are the ďenginesĒ similar enough for these settings to transfer across games? would i have to use the BF5 ST or BF1? and assuming it would work, what are the benefits to using these settings over the default recommended ones for BF1? thanks

The default values for the HIP and ADS vertical ratio are 48% and 80% respectively. Should we leave them at these values or bring them up to 100% in order to get that 1:1 ratio movement.

OK Jumping back to this game. I went back to RDR2 want to beat the game before job schedule gets so busy that I can only turn on my console back until January.

All right so we have the practice range, going to check that out and see if I can update this config with new zoom values.

Let me reiterate, the purpose of this Config is to have similar HIP and ADS turn sensitivity ST regardless the Zoom, the values for 1.00X, 1.25X, 2.00X that was the only ones I had available to test when I pick up the game.

If you feel the ADS too fast, I can guarantee you always play your games with significant lower ADS sensitivity than HIP, and that's OK. Personally I think having a consistent sensitivity and turn speed all around allows you to develop a more precise a snappy aim, specially if you are playing without any Aim Assist.

If you use this Config with same XIM HIP and ADS you will feel the same turn speed on the zoom mentioned.

You can use this config with a different XIM HIP and ADS.

You have to be aware of this, from the get go if you let the all the Zoom at 100%, if your XIM HIP sensitivity is 10, and your ADS is 5, this doesn't means that your turn speed is cut in half, zoom alters this on XIM performance.

If you use the zoom values I came up (by test and my own measurement tools), and HIP = 10 and ADS = 5, your turn speed will be the real half, for the scopes 1.00X, 1.25X, 2.00X.

Make sure your HIP and ADS are using the same Sync.

Hi, I want to know how to use xim apex for radio support in this game?
Commo Rose? is detailed on the first page how to setup a working sub-config.

The default values for the HIP and ADS vertical ratio are 48% and 80% respectively. Should we leave them at these values or bring them up to 100% in order to get that 1:1 ratio movement.

Good question, I am also intrigued
That would also interest me very much. However, it might be helpful to control the recoil better if you change the values.

Every in-game sensitivity should be set as mist4fun specify, to have best tracking performance 1:1. After that, your HIP and ADS sensitivity should be set on your XIM Manager, as you preferred. The values of the zoom are to have a consistent turn-speed equivalent between HIP and ADS on XIM.

@Alan

Is the xim4 balistic for ads or hip? Or both?
Ballistic? or you meant senstivity?. Not using ballistic curves on any of these setups. Curves are more viable on vehicles setups.

If you don't use USA and play with ADS FOV on, you will have to change your sensitivity in order to maintain the same feel.

For example, when you play with 95 FOV with ADS FOV on, aiming with the long range scope is going to feel ~50% slower than default.

For the USA method where we disable the ADS configuration page. Is it a bad idea to use ADS translator for hip as some people have done so for other games. Also, with USA off, since 360 turns are meaningless, what method can I use to tweak my 1.50x and 3.00x zoom levels such that they feels similar to 1.00x zoom. I've tried doing something like flicking my wrist from right to left and marking the spots, and doing it again with other zoom levels but there is some inconsistency there.

Lastly, when you disable the ADS and use HIP translator with USA ON, do you know if one loses precision, micromovement etc since we're not using the specifically made ADS translator. ( I also never found out why we turn off ads though for USA ON option)

After a couple of days of horrible BF games i started to go back to the basics of my usual setup. Lowering from 12k dpi to 4k. I'm running on cloth pad. After this I started playing around in practice range and noticed that the AA really behaves strange in this game. I would recommend trying just standing in front of a target dummy and watch how your whole character start pivoting around the target in an halv circle. Messes alot of my aiming. So the info about nerfed AA in this game certainty disappoint me.
Just wondering if anyone else not finding the AA annoying as well. Turned my off.

I was lucky enough to find and stay on a server to update the Zoom Aim Sensitivity Values
Soldier Zoom AIM Sensitivity
(https://i.imgur.com/VEzQzaR.jpg)
1.00X Zoom Sensitivity: 70%
1.25X Zoom Sensitivity: 63%
1.50X Zoom Sensitivity: 67%
2.00X Zoom Sensitivity: 63%
2.50X Zoom Sensitivity: 63%
3.00X Zoom Sensitivity: 65%
6.00X Zoom Sensitivity and above: 63%

Vertical Aim Ratio
Soldier Aim Ratio: 48%
Soldier Zoom Aim Ratio: 80%

This new values makes Zoom feel same sensitivity as HIP, without speed up ADS.

AA is clearly bad IMO.

It's messes up your muscle memory, I turned it off and as a result my progression curve is better.

I play 90% recon, and I highly recommend to turn the AA off, it's way more accurate and enjoyable, especially on moving target and  drag shot.

For the USA method where we disable the ADS configuration page. Is it a bad idea to use ADS translator for hip as some people have done so for other games.
It's a bad idea because the ADS translator is for ADS without USA which has different aim mechanics. ADS with USA uses the same mechanics as hip.

You can adjust scope sensitivities in a way so that every scope moves one field of view for the same mouse travel distance.

It's basically what USA does automatically:

Lastly, when you disable the ADS and use HIP translator with USA ON, do you know if one loses precision, micromovement etc since we're not using the specifically made ADS translator. ( I also never found out why we turn off ads though for USA ON option)
With USA on, ADS has the same aiming mechanic as hip so you don't lose precision.

I played one week with one and other week with other.

I don't think one is better than other for a huge margin, and you can get used to anyway.

But I have to admit, if sniping is your thing and want 1:1 perfect tracking, and play without AA... this Config (USA OFF, ADS ST on ADS) is the way to go, hands down.

Now that I've had a chance to look at the new changes I'll be shooting for an equal turn speed between axes which is rare in console games (yay) and I'll be removing the Axial Deadzone. These two changes may allow BFV to have the most PC like look mechanic yet aside from the turn speed limit. I don't think native support for USA is the right choice, there are too many factors for an uneducated user to negatively effect performance without knowing. It's better to keep this as an opt-in/diy option.

I can confirm that it's working in BFV.

You can set it to 100% and set your config Y/X ratio to 0,48.

Great config use it now for several weeks.

But the Commo Rose isn't working so i tried to change this.

I understand everything about your settings. But this is maybe a stupid question:

3. Actions Section.
Remove the Forward button if you have it mapped. Swipe down.

I think this the problem. The combo rose is no register some some slome motions. But i didn't know what you mean with the forward button.

Someone can explain me please. Thank You.

Post by: alanmcgregor on 11:13 AM - 12/16/18
Not stupid question at all, let me clarify, this might be the reason why a few fellas can make the commo rose work.

The button 5 or Forward button (is generally at the side of your mouse), this button should be your Turn Assist button.

If you have it mapped or bind to another action, unmapped and set it as your Turn Assist.

Now, when you are playing; press and hold your Commo Rose button
Hold down Mouse Button 5 and move the mouse in the dial selector to the option you want
Then Release the Mouse Button 5 and the commo rose button to make the request.

The Turn Assist button must be held down while navigating the dial, this function (with a low sensitivity set) allows you to make smooth selection with the mouse. You can use whatever button you want for turn assist, I just choose a side mouse button because ergonomic wise makes more sense, another alternative will be the button or key you use for sprinting, it will feel more natural to your brain to use this key as "move faster key".

I'm about 3 days into using the official BF V ST running as Medic. Using the recommended settings on a PS4 XIM4 with Soldier Aim 100%, Soldier Zoom 200%, Vehicle Zoom 100%. Also using recommended for Advanced Controls and Control Tuning. Using recommended XIM Hip & Mouse Sensitivity at 20.

My problem is that turning is SUPER slow. It takes about 10 mouse passes (lifting the mouse up and resetting) to do a 45 degree turn. I switched over to the BF 4 ST and it's definitely a little better with the turning. However, I still find myself having to set HIP and Mouse ADS sensitivity very high to make it playable. I moved the sensitivity up from 20 to about 300. I'm not an extremely high sensitivity player, I would just like to be able to do a 90 degree turn without having to lift the mouse pad up and restarting.

I don't have a high sensitivity gaming mouse, I'm running a typical office Dell optical mouse. I don't know what its DPI is, but I would imagine it's very low.

Would appreciate any input. I'm not sure how aiming is possibly degraded by running a 300 HIP / Mouse ADS sensitivity, but it feels pretty good so far.

Thanks! :)

Use the sens as you like. It will be different with dpi and game style. Just up it until turn speed is fine. If it gets jittery too much you may need a higher sens mouse. Xim likes high sens mice.

Will do. Just felt like I was doing something wrong running crazy high sensitivity like that. Maybe I'll even go back to the official BF V ST and just crank the sensitivity up more. Probably should pick up a gaming mouse as well.

Did you create an additional sub-config for squad?  I have one for commo-rose and one for squad.  Now I mapped 1 key to both RB/LB and hold that down as the activation.

There's always present aim assist that can't be turned off.  Slow down off, auto rotation off, but there's always this auto aim that auto follows running targets.  If there's one target I can deal with it, but if there are multiple targets near my sight, I'm screwed.  I will end up hitting several targets and the slow TTK makes it worse.  How do you deal with this?
Title: Re: Battlefield V - Official ST Optimized Settings [XIM APEX/XIM4]
Post by: alanmcgregor on 10:45 AM - 12/17/18
Exactly that's how you can have one key press for two buttons.

Jaybub,
Now about your mouse and DPI. That certainly sounds like you are playing with very low DPI. This is XIM not PC where anything above 3200 sounds like too much, and even on that platform is a outdated belief, where sensor engineers keep telling and proving their new technology performs better above 2000 resolution.

For XIM is not a PC, it translates signal ergo needs the fastest and better input, the bigger the better less interpolation.

What is the optimum way to go IMO is, find out the highest native stepping of your mouse sensor and use that one as your fixed mouse DPI.

e.g.
Mouse   Sensor           Max        Max Native
G402     AM010v2       4000       1600
G302     PMW3310      5000       Native every step
G900     PMW3366      12000     Native every step

For a sensitivity I feel comfortable, for a 36 cm 360 turn =  XIM sens 13 X 4000 mouse dpi. =   52000 xim/dpi

For a G402 I have to change my XIM sens.
52000 /1600(mouse dpi) = 32.5

XIM 32.50 on G402 set to 1600 dpi will give me the sensitivity I'm prefer.

For a G502, G900, G Pro etc. you can go as high as you want, and aim for a lower XIM sens.

like XIM 5.0 on G502, G900, G Pro set to 10400 dpi, for a 52000 XIM/dpi sensitivity aka 36cm 360 turn.

For more info, any new XIM user should watch Od1n videos at Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/user/XIMGameplay)

jd394y,

I use 4000 DPI, my mouse only goes up to 5000, is a small claw lightweight mouse (72 grs). 4000DPI for this mouse particularly delivers the lowest input lag while still using a native stepping.

Also I play on a large cloth mouse pad, IMO on the range of 3200 - 8000 dpi works pretty well on XIM on cloth.

AA is a coin toss some games needs very low DPI, for me 4000 (3850) is the sweet spot for most games on XIM without AA getting in your way and nice tracking, and AA helping if enable at this DPI set.

I have G305, loved it at 8000 DPI but its shape is not as good as Ventus R, is sluggish heavy, and doesn't have profiles. On my Ventus I have 4 profiles for 4 games, each profile has handy macros like combat roll and rapid-fire for Battlefront 2, combat-slide for Battlefield V, Quick Dead Eye for Red Dead Redemption, and sprint spamming on toggle for horse riding.

In a nutshell personal preference.

Anything above 3200 is good for XIM, some sensors has less input lag at higher dpi, others has smoothing and issues.

3366 is pretty flawless, Hero is quite good too but no as mature as Pixart. My dream is waiting Tt release a Ventus R v2 with a Pixart 336X sensor.

personally, I use turn assist to make turns in the planes.. I'm not very good at flying and I only tend to pilot the bomber if at all. It is serviceable enough for an occasional pilot like myself. I would think most people would just suggest using the controller for flying.

Should I change also the Left Stick Axial Deadzone to 0% ? or only the Right Stick

If you use it for aiming, yes. For walking, doesn't matter.

Wow!

I just had a quick go in an airplane and with the X-Axis now matching the Y-Axis you can control the aircraft 'Roll' completely on the mouse and I didn't need to use my keyboard bindings to roll. (this always felt a bit awkward to me)

Now you can concentrate on just using the 'Yaw' bindings on the keyboard.

This made the flight a lot smoother with much more control and my aircraft behavior exactly resembled the movements of the top pilots I watch on youtube.

Thanks guys!!  ;D

From my old ST I've got my Y/X ratio set to 1.00 for Hip and Aim Down Sight. I cant remember if this is correct or not.

Does that need to be changed to 0.00 now?

This new ST is working amazing for me so far (last ST also had amazing control) except I still can't get the comma rose to work perfectly despite having it set up exactly the same the official optimized settings. It seems I have to time the release of of the comma rose activation and turn assist button (in my case the middle mouse button) perfectly to have the comma rose activate properly. Also when I try to call up a v2 rocket etc it seems inconsistent to activate. I can bring up the options to select easily by pressing my corresponding LB RB keys but carrying out the selection is very difficult to execute.  Not sure if there are any tricks to get it to work properly?

Do you use Smooth Aim Transition and/or a ADS Delay (Default is 0ms) for normal Run n Gun class? not sniping I mean like Assault etc.

I can run with the ST with very little changes to settings and finish around the top for each and every game.  The little tweaks are just for personal preferences i guess.

Anyone else having a problem with semi automatic rifles ? When I shoot multiple times itís like my mouse stops responding for 2 clicks and then works again. Itís not the mouse Iíve checked with other games. Only happens in battlefield 5. Any thoughts ?

I get this from time to time. M1A1 I'm guessing? Sorry no solutions but you're not alone.

I started a thread about this. Here is what is suggested, but I havenít had a chance to try it yet.
I have a solution. Well maybe not perfect but works for me. Change R2 deadzone from 0 to 30 in controller settings, just above R2 input treshold.

You have to change your Zoom sensitivity to 100%, and use the HIP translator for ADS.

I posted a thread about that config.

Just out of interest, what are these Zoom levels supposed to achieve?  My understanding was that with the zoom levels above set, whenever you switched from Hip to ADS with whatever scope/sight magnification you run with, the crosshair on screen would move the same distance for any given movement of the mouse on the pad, i.e if you move your mouse 30cm across the pad when using hip and it does a 360 degree turn, moving the same distance when in ADS would also result in a 360 degree turn, however, it doesn't with any of these settings on my system.

Am I missing something?

Any help or tips appreciated

Edit: XIM4 , all keys mapped correctly, turn assist active during process. Obviously I canít set joystick dead zones, is there an alternative for XIM4 ?

Edit edit: working better now, I dropped the sensitivity to 4 like Alan said...8 was too high.

Achieve uniform aim, those values are set to crosshairs move the same sensitivity or turn speed. If 1.00X moves 25cm, 2.00X moves 50cm, if 2.00X moves 25 it will be way faster hence difficult to snipe, image a 6.00X scope.

If you have a PC, and are playing this game on it, why not man up and use native controls.. remember that Alan? You gave me @#$% for using my XIM when I first got my gaming PC. Yet, here we are...

Uff salty hehe

Yes I have PC with a powerful graphics card, but is for work (rendering). I play Battlefield on consoles because I play with my friends, they don't have PC's.

I when I play on PC, I do it with native mouse and keyboard. Same when I played Fortnite.

There is no point to use XIM when you have a perfectly functional M&KB, in fact you put yourself in disadvantage vs try PC controls due direct weapon selection, and building doesn't have throttle, or flawed deadzone. Granted control layout is narrow down, but the true reason (I think that's why struck a nerve in some) is using/abusing Aim Assist (Auto Aim) by using XIM and that gives bad name to XIM users.

The purpose of this thread, get XIM the closest to PC, has been mentioned from other fellas, AA OFF is beast mode on this config.

Not a saint, by any stretch of the word. I wrote and develop one of the most popular Scripts for Fortnite thanks to ConsoleTuner Community got huge, where the building part was 8 months ahead of Epics building for consoles.

But I wrote that script for a friend of mine who lost hands functionality due an accident on his military service. And coming from working with people with true disabilities, where devices like XIM and scripts allows them to enjoy gaming.

So if you have a healthy pair of hands, a gaming PC and true native mouse and keyboard, available... there is no excuse for using XIM or Scripts on PC, and is not supported officially either.

"Ow I can't play is so much difficult, is much complex". I laugh, there's is one boy on the burned center, he lost 3 fingers off his hands due a firecracker, and demolish people on fortnite with m&kb.

I said: "man up", but... now I think I should say: stop being a little @#$%.

Sorry, guys I'm mexican we don't do political correctness.

Iíve found that a change in the expert configuration response rate makes a huge difference since the st update. For example when enabled and changed to 1000htz it throws the auto aim completely off, it is less sticky but more difficult to track moving targets, you almost have to fight against it more.

This wasnít the case with the previous st. Not sure what has changed on this front.

I just wanted to say I love your config. It helped me a lot to find my own groove.

I was wondering about the input threshold. Does it actually register faster with the XIM?  Would making it less increase my RPM with the m1a1? Would making it more increase the registry for each click, so there would be less misfires or clicks not being registered. I figure its part due to the cap of the gun and maybe the input delay by the (for me) ps4. I was just curious what your thoughts were on this.

Can i use these Zoom values for Battlefield 1?

Soldier Zoom AIM Sensitivity
1.00X Zoom Sensitivity: 70%
1.25X Zoom Sensitivity: 63%
1.50X Zoom Sensitivity: 67%
2.00X Zoom Sensitivity: 63%
2.50X Zoom Sensitivity: 63%
3.00X Zoom Sensitivity: 65%
6.00X Zoom Sensitivity and above: 63%

thanks!

Set an ads sensitivity (1x) that allows me to move to the edge of my screen perfectly in one swipe from the center of the mousepad to the edge..

This basically makes your mousepad a reflection of your monitor
Yes, this is a very good method.

but my general feeling in battlefield is the higher your scope the higher you need your sensitivity to feel like the aim speed is uniform
This is because the game decreases the turn speeds much more than the FOV when zooming. For example, the FOV is decreased by 80% with the long range scope zoom, but the sensitivity is decreased by 95%, which makes it feel 4 times slower than hip.

cm/360 isn't a good standard if you're trying to get the same feel across different zoom levels, consider using your preferred cm/FOV
This is with USA OFF, only USA ON FoV needs to be tweak.
That's not really what I meant.

On another note, you never need to tweak the FOV with USA on, because the game adjusts everything automatically for the same feel. (Just make sure you're using the right ratio.)

yep that's what I meant you need "to tweak" your ratio for FoV that you are using when USA is ON.

On USA OFF, FoV ratio doesn't applies. Zoom Aim sensitivities should be set manually in order to use the ADS Smart Translator for optimum performance when aiming down sight. 360 turns is the only way we can measure and have a frame of reference of the sensitivity and movement with different Zooms.

For USA ON we need to set or game zoom sensitivity at 100% and use the HIP translator for ADS, then set the right FoV Ratio. However XIM doesn't support USA ON, ADS won't deliver optimal performance.

(This comment is not for you TSARGA is for newcomers, I don't want to confuse people with this topic)

When will you release the Vehicles settings?
I am very looking forward!

thanks!

Hi alan
I guess you play battlefield 1 too
Could you please share your battlefield 1 config?
I like this game
I still play it

thanks!

Can i use these Zoom values for Battlefield 1?

Soldier Zoom AIM Sensitivity
1.00X Zoom Sensitivity: 70%
1.25X Zoom Sensitivity: 63%
1.50X Zoom Sensitivity: 67%
2.00X Zoom Sensitivity: 63%
2.50X Zoom Sensitivity: 63%
3.00X Zoom Sensitivity: 65%
6.00X Zoom Sensitivity and above: 63%

thanks!

I can't guarantee, I got this values after hours of testing on BFV different scopes and taking measure of 360 turns with mouse mount on rail-ruler. If BF1 has different scopes values this values might not work.

Appreciate all the work that went into this!

That being said, I really miss the simple, basic settings of old BF games, sometimes less is more.

So I copied my config data so I never had to re input everything.
I then removed the current ST BF5-Hip-X1.2
I shut down xbox and removed xim apex
I re connected apex and restarted xbox
I did force games download
I installed BF5 ST

I got the same ST as I just removed , what gives ??

Tried several times , I have done this before with other games without problems so I have no idea why it isn't working

IGNORE this,  I wasn't aware it was for PS4,   I have never used xim with PS4 so never noticed the difference in version numbers.

Which scope did you use for the 2.5x zoom value?

I recently bought the Logitech G305 lightspeed wireless. It's really nice shape with no input lag due to their wireless technology.

I do have the same problem. Switching between 125Hz, 500Hz and 1000Hz didn't help. I tried another mouse without luck.

But got a clue from another thread that it might be the SAB. Will play with the values and report back.

Thanks I will try that.

For now I can say that it's coming from the SAB.
I just tried it with the M1A1. With SAB 75 I have some weapon jamming. With SAB 0 its flawless.

I will play around with the threshold and the deadzone.

Back again after some tests.

RT Deadzone on 50% almost eliminates the jamming. Sometimes it jams one bullet but not comparable to 0% Deadzone.

However, firing with SAB on 0 still feels a bit faster and gives more confidence.

The best xim4 setup ever played. With 74 fov and default 20 hip ads sensitivity multiply by 33/25 = 26.4 hip/ads on xim4. It feels just like a pc game. All you people complaining needs to learn how to find your perfect sensitity. Itís very easy, practice 180 degree snap using mouse with a comfortable distance on mouse pad. Then adjust the sensitivity until your 180 snap suits perfect for the distance mouse travelled. Bingo job done. Great job dude. Impressive.

Personal greetings,

I would first like to thank the community for help and also to allan for devoting themselves in always bringing us new settings .. I would like the help of more experienced players than me. Well, I always played with the use of AA. However, I read in this community that many do not approve of it for many reasons. Currently I have reduced my AA to 30%. I have made very good matches, others not so much. I would like some tips to stop in the future not needing to use more AA. Can you help me?

I've been using this set up for months with no issues, but been having a couple of problems recently.

I've noticed that I'm getting intermittent failures on my left mouse button when rapid firing, single shot mode (I used the Gewehr 1-5 or M1A1)

I thought it might be my mouse so I did button tests on a few different websites but couldn't replicate the problem.

I just tried to rapid fire using my controller and it too couldn't do it at the regular speed.

I've got my L2/R2 Deadzones set to 5%

Does this setting need updating since the last game update?

With AA at 100% I find it does help when shooting at stationary targets, however it makes tracking and shooting someone full sprinting at a 90 Deg angle of me almost impossible as I'm fighting the AA with my mouse movements to keep up with the target.

They added a " zoom transition sensitivity smoothing " option . I'm curious to know whether to turn this on or off.
good question, I THINK you leave this off , the difference from what I can tell with off your ADS sensitivity kicks in immediately allowing you to snap on targets with a high hip low ADS sensitivity.

Hi Alan

I have set my game up to these settings shown but find all the other scopes bar 1x are way off. I am finding that 1x =70 then all the others up to 2.5x are around 100 (not 63) and even if I set 3x and above to 200 they are no where near 1:1.

Am I missing something or a setting somewhere as I am in the same school of thought with the HIP & ADS being equal for muscle memory?

I am using all these settings without difficulty except for trigger problems. When using semi autos or sidearms the firing in game wonít keep up with the mouse. Like I am clicking the mouse too fast. Thought my mouse was wearing out but my logitech 503 wireless does it too.
Polling/dpi set the same as this config.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Make sure you reduce the triggers Input Threshold down to 5%.

Highly Recommended for XIM users:
R2/L2 max Input Threshold: 5%. For a more responsive firing and zoom in.

Hi.
I have been using the game for a long time as described here. Both Xim Apex and BFV game settings are configured as described here. I only changed the aim sensitivity and smoothing.
A few months ago, I noticed that I had an ADS problem while playing.
During the game, when I activate the ADS with the right mouse button, I sometimes notice that the ADS is deactivated by automatically.
I tried it with another mouse and connected another controller to xim. The error remained the same. So they certainly aren't this problem.
Very annoying this ADS error while playing.
What could be the problem?
