Title: Any updates soon?
Post by: ChrisV on 07:57 AM - 06/09/18
Hey,
when the xim came out you guys released one update after another which was great. The last weeks it kinda got quiet. I know it is summer time and you guys can spend your time at the beach, but i still would like to see:
- a walk speed slider
- and maybe a closer look at the r6s aiming system

thx =)

For XIM APEX, right now we are working on motion control. That's going to be our next experimental Beta build.

I would like that too! I know R6 should be in focus because of the popularity. I posted a while back about the aiming exsperience. I wish if u can add 2 ads screen in the app. One for 1x optics and one for ACOG. Because if I choose 15 ads in the app it will aim fast with reflex, holo and iron sight but alot slower when using ACOG. For muscle memory it isnt very good. Thx Obs!

thx =)

Thx for the answer. Any time line or maybe a comment on that r6s-thing? Would be nice =)

Unfortunately there isn't much we can do with it. Ubisoft creates the worst aiming systems that we have ever seen. The saying we use in engineering is "garbage in, garbage out". I would contact them and ask for improvements since the things they do aren't good for controller gamers either.

They tested a new  aim system on pc test servers. Maybe they goona release it "soon". Would be cool if you could look at it again if they gonna release it.
Thx =)

Yes, we always update translators if a game changed it's aim.

Walk speed slider and possibly the ability to bind two different speeds on different keys is #1 on my request list :)

Maybe you take a look at this thread. http://community.xim.tech/index.php?topic=67191.0

There was a "change", atleast it feels like that.
Thank you.

I've ordered the game for PS4. I'm waiting for fortnite to finish training, once this is finished I can then look at X1 and hopefully at this point PS4 as well for potential changes to Siege's look mechanic.

Is there some technical/data driven method of making the translators for a game, or do you simply rely on how the aiming "feels"?

I use a trainer that will play the game and learn the look mechanic. That data is used to build the ST. I'm able to compare data points from the current look mechanic against the existing ST. If there are differences it will be picked up by the trainer.

More on STs in Obsiv's video here:

do you use the multiplayer mode to train the st? Because there is another look mechanic in terrorist hunt :)
Title: Re: Any updates soon?
Post by: mist4fun on 11:39 AM - 06/12/18
No, I don't train in multiplayer, the trainer needs 12-24 hours to learn a look mechanic. I have looked at all modes and they use the same look mechanic. Game performance varies between modes.

I'm working on getting this released so people can try it out. Although, this one is specifically targeting controller gamers that want to increase their speed and accuracy of their precision aiming.

It's ready now, but, I've limited it to a very small set of people. Would you like to try it? I will require you to purchase a Switch Pro controller though -- let me know.

I can, but, strangely of those I've sent it to many have not given me feedback on it at all (either positive or negative) and I'm not sure why. Will you put it through it's paces and provide feedback? Also, how are you on the controller? This is designed for controller gamers that are already proficient with that input method that want an increase of speed and precision.

Hello Obsiv,

I have been playing tons of hours overwatch and it would be nice to try the new firmware if it is faster in term of movements and more accurate.

Please also check this post http://community.xim.tech/index.php?topic=67495.0 it would be nice to have an input from you regarding the clear differences in term of performances regarding xim 4 and apex (console controler ST, linear, curve options, boost,...) > more or less 10% less accuracy with apex according to many players.

Thanks in advance.

This isn't for mouse users -- this is about making controller users faster and more accurate.

Any plans to Support third Party Controllers like the Razer Raiju (because it is a great Controller)?

With Fortnite one of the most popular games implemented gyro aiming with their new season 5 patch today :)
In my oppinion this has a lot of potential, quite happy to see that a game like Fortnite allows this now too!

Hello in his day I was a user of xim4 and recently from xim apex and read this post, I would like to be able to test the beta firmware that gives support for the presicion and speed to the controllers, I have a command of nintendo switch pro, overwatch and Fornite the game with controller because it is very difficult to play with mouse, could I try this firmware for the improvement of the drivers or do I have to wait for it to be released?

Very nice to see that the cim team are still trying to inovate and expand into different areas i personally will probably never use the motion control implimentation but tones of people would love the option and probably buy the device purely for this feature. It truely seems like you guys are genuinly taking the feedback that the console creators have been getting for years but are too out of touch or cheap to impliment and bringing it to us for a fairly reasonable price

When this feature be available for public to experiment ? and can you make it so that it work with DS4 and XBOX controllers ? I would like to test this feature and send feedback since i consider myself decent with a controller. But i don't have Switch and not willing to buy a Switch pro controller that probably won't be using after that especially with it's high price in my country.

Blue0ce4N, this really is just an experimental thing right now -- a proof of concept for us to learn from. There are no plans to make it work on the DS4 (or XBox controller -- which wouldn't work anyways since it doesn't have the required hardware in it).

How much of a hassle is it to implement landscape mode for iPad? Its so much easier to adjust settings with it in its Smart Cover in standup layout
