Post by: animenows on 07:38 AM - 06/29/08
im planing to buy a new mouse for the upcoming xim 2, any recomandations/
Right now im thinkin of buying a  g5 mouse, but is all the buttons on my mouse supoorted??
For example does the tilt wheel work with xim?? Is the mx 518 any good/?  How about the mx revolution ?? its wireless but i heard theres very little delay.

The mx revolution hav even more buttons, with 2 wheels and 3 side buttons, any one know if they will work for xim 2?

I was skeptical but my new fav. mouse is the sidewinder.

Perfect placement of the side buttons IMO among many other pros. No cons for me yet.

Want to buy my G5 when it comes out? I only bought it for the XFPS(only one that works well). I am going back to my PC's MX518 because I like the button place ments more.

Tilt wheel may be a problem with the g5 - I have a g9 and the tilt wheel would always kick me out of xim and I'd have to restart the software.  Since I've disabled the side scroll/tilt in set point, it hasn't been a problem.

I love my Habu

That's what Obsiv says too, he love his habu. I'm still rocking my mx518, which rocks even more with the testing of the xim360.

I hate to sound like a fan-boy but OBsiv has been right on. Habu is awesome! I hated the sidewinder, and the logitech just doesn't fit right in my hand. He was right about the The Saitek cyborg command unit as well, true it could have been built more rugged ( I myself would have opted for a thumbstick more like a ps3/360 controller stick with the button press underneath it but works very well 1 thumb > 3 fingers for movement. now all I need is XIM 360

sidewinder isnt _that_ bad but maybe that's just because it fits my hand perfectly. I would rather use a habu or mx-whatever but the side button placement could be better IMHO (i prefer them on top of each other since that is the most natural motion of a human thumb.)

Since I started with a MX510 a few years I just too used to this mouse feeling. The MX518 is pretty much the same just with higher resolution and some more software features. I am still in love with it :). Fits my hand perfectly!

Yep, love it. I still have to try the Habu, I was going to try it then got sidetracked with our special little project.

I have the Habu , mX518 , G5 , Microsoft Sidewinder, CyberSnipa Stinger ,G9 , Razor Diamondback 3g, Slamander, RAZER LACHESIS ,  BOOMBSLANG , deathadder , and the logitech G3 . I  use the logitech G3 the most because I am a lefty and with the Xim , it beats every mouse I own hands down. Buttons are pefectly located on the sides to where I don't have to reach at all . Click  , Boom  , your dead .

Crap , I didn't realize that. Your right . ;D Most mice I own I bought from a computer wholeseller here where I live. (I am actually using them all right now on my spare pc's  :o )
They are used sometimes ... but hey I can't beat the prices.
 The place is called consumerdepot.
 Here is their website.

MX518 + Xim360 = love.

I have a Microsoft Intelli Explorer 3.0. It's old, bad specs and blabla, but I love it.

I'm content with the G9.  It's pretty dank.

I have a G5 and a G9 on the way from a friend who will be dropping them off at the house in a day or 2 so I'll let you know how it works out and I will add it to my "CKA" list (certified kick @#$%) if it passes the rigors of my testing :)

I don't either. I have noticed that the "spread" as I call it is not that far off from one another when comparing DPI vs DPI when both DPI's are identical. We shall see yes?
