Title: SandhawC Guide
Post by: havoxxx on 04:22 PM - 11/30/15
This is a complete tutorial on how to successfully use SandhawC.

What You Need:

1. Belkin Easy Transfer Cable for Windows. Other types of transfer cables are not recommended, but you can attempt to use.

2.  A Computer

3. SandhawC found here http://xim4.com/community/index.php?topic=43522.0 (http://xim4.com/community/index.php?topic=43522.0)

4.  .NET framework v4.5.2 installed

5. Latest Direct X drivers (search google)

7. XIM4 Manager & Firmware NEWEST

Set up your XIM4 exactly how to see the image below.

⁰⁰⁰
This is the slot right next to the C located on your XIM4 device. You need to plug your Micro-B  use cable into your controller, and the USB into the XIM4.

⁰⁰
This slot is left empty, UNLESS you are adding a flight stick, or extra keyboard, or what ever you like.

This is the slot where the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable USB is put into. One end into the XIM4 and the other into your computer.

C
This is the slot where the Micro-B Cable that came with your XIM4 goes into. One end into the XIM4, other end goes into your PS4/X1

How to use AutoHotKey with SandhawC

1. Download here http://ahkscript.org/download/ahk-install.exe

2. Install AHK

3. Right click on desktop and create a AutoHotKey Script.

4.  Now open this script, and paste what ever script you would like to.

5. Take this script and put it in  C:\Users\YOURPCHERE\Documents\SandhawC\Scripts

6. On SandhawC click launch scripts.

This is not a tutorial on how to create AHK scripts, please refer to google for that.

Yes. SandhawC also works with the F5U279 (I use that with Windows 10), which you may find for a lower price than the F4U060.

Hello,

Need Help, will this setup work to allow me to use my windows 10 surface 3 that's has the Logitech Gaming software on it that I need to allow my Logitech  G410 keyboard and G520 mouse to work properly because they need some files from the Logitech program to be running.

I have a PS4 console.

I looked at the above diagram, How do I connect my keyboard & mouse ? I do have a powered usb hub.

Thank you.

no that would not work with your keyboard, your mouse and keyboard needs to be connected to the surface since thats how sandhawc works (theoretically only your keyboard)
the belkin easy transfer cable also needs to be connected to the surface, so its 3 usb ports you need

what you can do though is plug the usb hub to the surface so you have these 3 required usb ports :)

Ok , I have a powered USB hub. I will do that today. What if I wanted to connect just the mouse to port 2 on the XIM 4 ? Not a problem for me to do it the way you say to , just curious.

Thanks

yes you can of course connect the mouse directly to the xim4
(which is what i meant with theoretically only the keyboard and the belkin cable need to be connected to the pc)

is there a way to change the activation key.  Im trying to use elgato capture card with sandhawc and i have to have the sandhawc screen in front of the capture card software screen in order to work.  I can only assume that elgato software uses pause break key somehow but the sandhawc screen will be stuck overtop it when trying to use.  Any help or advice is much appreciated

I purchased a transfer cable but when I plug it into the xim4 and try to run the app it says unable to find transfer cable. Is there anything I'm supposed to do first? I have it set up exactly like the picture

Edit: I actually see now that you guys recommend the belkin easy transfer cable only. I got one by mediabridge. Is there any way to make this one work or do I just have to send this one back?

it is recommended yes, but you might be able to get by. Try looking online for the latest drivers for your transfer cable.. Did you but the 3.0 or the 2.0 USB version? if you have a 3.0 it would go into the 3.0 blue slot in the back of your computer. The 2.0 would just go regularly into a usb slot.  Make sure you have the right end plugged into the xim and make sure everything is plugged in like the picture.

The ends appear to be identical, no indicator that one end would be any different and I have tried both 3.0 and 2.0 ports (the cable is 3.0). Their website has no downloads available for this cable so I guess there is no drivers. I think I just screwed up. I read it as the belkin one was recommended because it was one of the few known transfer cables and would work the best, I didn't realize that there was actually even software that ran these things until after I ordered this one. Any further advice would be greatly appreciated though

That thing is useless than lol i would return it and get the good one. Buy the prime membership on amazon and order the cable, then cancel the prime. that is how i get free 2 day shipping hah. Just make sure you dont have over 98 dollars in there :P but you can buy a used one for 3 dollars.

Hmm... I'm unable to get this to work as stated in the instructions.  I keep getting a "Failure connecting to USB Transfer Cable [-1]" error.  I'm running Windows 10 64-bit and have the Belkin transfer cable mentioned in the instructions.  Thoughts?

I'm running XIM4 Firmware 20160405 (**LATEST**) on my XIM device.  Port connections are the following:
*** - Xbox One Wireless to USB controller
C - XIM usb cable to xbox console
* - Belkin USB transfer cable (Model #F4U060)

I also can't seem to get the XIM4 Manager 20160405 (**LATEST**) to work on my PC either.   With the 20160405 Manager I am getting the error "Connect failure (Paired XIM4 not found) [6]"

I've always used Sandhawc but a few months ago I reformatted.

I'm not sure if my problem started after the reformat.

Basically, when using Sandhawc, every 20 seconds my mouse stops tracking properly... for months I've been playing this way not knowing dub tee eff was going on until recently I just sat in the training room in overwatch looking left and right, left and right, left and right, and i began to notice a pattern - every so often, my mouse would stop tracking and behave as though my mousepad were a mirror or a piece of glass or something for about 3 seconds... then it'd be normal again for 20 seconds and repeat.

SO I switched over to plugging my mouse & keyboard into the xim directly and sure enough this eliminated the problem.

Does anyone have ANY CLUE what might be causing this? I love the convenience of Sandhawc and I'm really sad I can't use it anymore :(

maybe i'll just get a switch... can anyone tell me if this would do the trick?

I'm having this same issue as Chompa. It started happening around the time i updated xim to 20160918 and bf1 st released. keyboard continues to work but mouse tracking is unresponsive. Seems sporadic. going to try and revert back to rml's steadyaim1 release.

How does the graph look like when this is happening?

as far as i could tell, nothing out of the ordinary was happening on the graph; although I could be wrong - there could've been some miniscule variation i just couldn't detect. i was running 200hz according to the display.
Title: Re: SandhawC Guide
Post by: W11cE on 02:12 PM - 10/30/16
Could you change it to 125Hz and try with that?
Title: Re: SandhawC Guide
Post by: chompa on 02:15 PM - 10/30/16
it also seemed to happen without cause; like i was playing destiny and noticed my sensitivity seemed a @#$% ton lower than usual, as well as the recurring 20 second tracking pause. So I unplugged everything, closed sandhawc, plugged everything back in but in different ports on the xim, then restarted sandhawc, and that fixed the issue for a short time (at least in Destiny).

I run mine at 125hz. I haven't looked at the graph immediately after it happens. But I know afterwards it is still nice and smooth @8ms. I do get the 8 to 4 ms jitters fairly often. Although a restart fixes that temporarily. I will try to look next time it happens and report back if need be.

edit: just saw you released v1.3 with that sawtooth fix. will give that a whirl

i've been meaning to post this but i forgot... i was too drunk to remember that I actually had tried running it at 125hz; unfortunately it didn't help to eliminate the 20 second tracking pause. Still have no clue what could have caused that, but I've been using a switch and it works fine. Sandhawc was more convenient but... tracking pause thing killed it for me. it's nice to know i'm running at a higher hz now too

Hello i noticed that everytime i close the ps4 and then start it again i would have to remove the Usb cable that came with the xim4 for me to connect to the xim4 but do i really have to do this or am i missing out something because it a bit annoying and i might do a setup which makes the usb hub a bit far from my reach so i wont be able to keep disconnecting and reconnecting it.

Hi guys,

[SOLVED] The problem was that I was trying to change the button control when the keyboard was controlling the XB1S. Hitting "Pause" allowed me to toggle back to PC and set the button as needed.[/SOLVED]

Got this installed and working. Thank you so much - it eliminated an extra piece of junk on my desk (usb hub) and a second KB and mouse.

Just one question: when the XIM4 is connected to PC via Belkin cable (F4U060), I cannot access the XIM4 manager application on PC directly.

I sometimes can access the XIM4 app through the SandhawC app, but even when I do, I cannot change keys. (Biggest problem is my "Game Menu" button on the controller was mapped to the Pause button, which is now the toggle for PC/Console control.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi mcav11, I don't think the board is monitored all the time, but to help speed up answers to your issues, it would be useful if you described the problem, can't promise you will get an instant answer, but if someone knows they usually post a response.

Is this error in XIM Manager or separate pop window? If it is the first one, it might be that you get the error, because you can not access XIM at the same time with bluetooth Manager and with transfer cable.
If it is the latter one, you have wrong cable or problems with USB connection.

i got it to say connected to xim manager in the top left box. Green. In the manager box connected to the sanhaw program it says failure connecting to USB transfer cable [-1]. My xim is slowly flashing green.

When i hit polling it starts for a second and then the xim side screen crashes. It will turn green and then cancel out. i bought my cable from amazon. Do i have to install the belkin software? it says i already have it installed.

So I've got the SandhawC all set up, connects to Xim4 perfectly fine. However, it says "DISABLED Press 'Pause' key to toggle the state", and I have no idea which button that means. I've tried the "pause/play" button on my laptop, but it doesn't do anything, even when I press the function key with it. Any alternatives or way I can use a different button? I saw an option to add additional activation keys but I have no clue how that works, it doesn't respond to any key presses.

Xim4 manager works but when I open sandhawc, it just says connecting for an infinite amount of time. Anyone got a fix?
