Title: XIM Edge Windows 10 support
Post by: thegamer36 on 06:05 AM - 06/03/15
I tried the XIM Edge on Windows 10 Technical Preview...I could not get it to work.  Will the XIM Edge be supported on Windows 10?

Thanks.

It doesn't work? You mean the app doesn't work or XIM4 doesn't connect to the app?

He's talking about the XIM Edge and it's manager not been able to connect to the device, I'm pretty sure windows 8.1 had the same issue and required a .reg file to fix.

Exactly, the manager and the XIM Edge will not connect.  I tried the reg fix in Windows 10 but it said the registry entry does not exist.

Thanks for the replies.

Do you hear the USB chime when you plug it in?

I actually get the blue light, but it will not connect when I select the connect button using the XIM Manager software.

Ok, so this same exact setup worked fine on Windows 8.1?

Yes, this worked in Windows 8.1 after I applied the registry patch.
Just an FYI, it is acting the same as it did in Windows 8.1 before the registry patch was applied.  It turns blue color, but when you select Connect to XIM, the manager hangs.

Ok, thanks. We will look for an equivalent registry key in Windows 10. Unfortunately, this is the only option as we can't modify the bootloader (where the fix would need to be made).

No worries...I am just hoping it works in Windows 10.  I can also test a fix for you if needed.

basically you will need to find the need VID
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\
Once here there is something like VID_2387^&PID_0002

Then change the following four DWORDs 1 -> 0 if not already 0.

1. AllowIdleIrpInD3
2. DeviceSelectiveSuspended
3, EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled
4. SelectiveSuspendEnabled

I don't have my XIM Edge or Windows 10 currently to find this for you.

XIMEDGEMANAGER 20151121
I know this is an old thread and I don't mean to revive it, however, these registry settings on windows 8.1 allow XIMEDGEMANAGER 20151121 to  work without error/issue.  I'm sure not a big deal, but searching the forum didn't provide these registry settings off the bat.  To note, XIMEdgeManager-20131110 works on Windows 8.1 without the registry changes, it's just the newer version wasn't working until the registry changes were made.  Thanks for posting the registry changes, they really helped.

my question before I buy the CM Plus.
If I have my XIM 4 setup with the settings for a game and its working will I have change the settings on the XIM4 once its connected to the CM Plus ; can I just add a script and AU the CM Plus and plug my XIM4 using my Logitech G13 and mouse connected to XIM 4 into the CM plus and have it work ?
Anyone have the CM working with the XIM 4 ? I cant find any videos exclusively about the complete setup with a CM  Xim4
If anyone has it setup and working without the need to be always connected to a PC , can you share your setup or a link.
The setup I want is Logitech G13 Gampad  Mouse into the XIM4 than into the CM Plus which is connected to the PS4.
Thank you

Your settings shouldn't have to change on your XIM4 assuming the CM presents itself exactly like a console. But someone who uses a CM with a XIM4 will need to comment.
