....is coming.  I'm not going to start a system war, but I have to say that this is one that made two of my friends go get PS3's.  Metacritic, so far, shows it to be the best reviewed PS3 game yet.

Yeah... Reviewed by the official PlayStation magazine!

I don't know if I'm going to buy Killzone 2 or Halo Wars yet.

Day one purchase here, I haven't played anyone on my PS3 for awhile. Looks like KZ2 is the complete package for a FPS.

One of the few games that has made me consider buying a PS3, though I barely play the 360 as it is and still have yet to convince myself to again subscribe to LIVE. I almost never used it last year, except to play in a manner that could be supported by a virtual LAN.

The mention of slow controls at 3:57 worries me. Not quite sure on how to accurately interpret what they meant by "very slightly slower" in regards to other shooters.

Long videos, didn't get to watch it all.

Love the destructible environments. Looks like everything crumbles and breaks. Also cool how the game mode switches up mid battle. Should make things interesting.

My big concern is they keep talking about the use of the sixaxis controls.  How will we be able to lean out, per se, from cover without them?  Or turn knobs / rotate controls?

ALSO - Totally off topic, I can't find how to link CTRL to my squat / stand button for resistance 2.  Is CTRL not available?

Left Control and Right Control

Look under L and R

Usually you can disable six axis in the options menu. Not all controllers have six axis so usually they let you turn it off. Let's hope.

I hope we can disable...if not, I'll be swapping mid-game during the single player just to twist knobs.  Thx on the L/R Ctrl button thing.  I swear I looked 300 times under C just to make sure I didn't miss it.

i do not think you can disable it. Also, you will need it as a sniper to stabilize your aim. Think holding your breath in cod 4 but this will take much more skill.

Ya downloaded it and hour ago and just like many say it is way short.My first playthrough i did it in 10 minutes and my second time was even shorter.Good news is that someone who has actually played the entire game tells that this is actually one of the more tame levels which is awesome because it is chaotic as is :).

Have not tried the xim  but will soon.

OK....sooooo, long story short, we have to find a way around the accelerometer thingamabobby.  It makes your movements delayed / slow at the start, then whips you past your target inevitably. 

In short, it's annoying.

Do any other FPS's have this and, if so, what work arounds are there?

I am using XIM2 works nice but the game itself is kinda boring.  It is not fast paced, maps are strange with hall ways all over the place, can't see how good my connection is when playing, I don't know when the hell I will use another gun, seems like every server has custom weapons off. 

I really don't know about this game and its long term play ability.  If you are going to try to rank up I guess you should join a 100 kill server.

Great looking game but it leaves allot to be desired.  I hold every FPS to COD4 standards, you don't go backward you always move forward and the game devs only moved forward in the "LOOKS" department here.

Yeah, I played it, non stop action, so is COD with alot better mechanics.  The game looks great but it has ZERO substance.  I really fell this game is nothing more than a new game to hit the shelves, that's it.  I was expecting allot more. @#$% I spent $120.00 just to play it.  I never play games on the PS3 because of the crappy network.

People will return this game in droves and there will be a very small community for it because of the bad controls, lack of party system, P2P, and all the other crap that is in every other FPS that KZ2 does not have.

Nice! Microsoft are such cheap barstewards! We have to pay for P2P games lol :D

Think I might have to pick a PS3 and try this out before I buy system and game.

Maybe some fighting games on live are p2p but I think most games on live are sever based.  LOL, I never get lag on Live.  The ps3? Well that is another story.  Like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. 

KZ2 is not smooth, the lag is terrible, and there are no dedicated servers, it is a p2p lag fest.  Go look on KillZones web site if you want to find out for yourself but be warned, their web site is a lag fest also.

EVM - Killzone 2 has dedicated servers.  Just like with Resistance or any other dedicated system, there will be hiccups time to time, but ultimately the experience is leaps and bounds above P2P.  I've had no lag what so ever.

Evm - actually very few of xbox games have dedicated servers for playing. The vast majority are P2P games including fps, driving, sports, fighting games etc. Most don't lag too bad but P2P is hugely inferior to good dedicated servers.

Anyways, KZ2, definitely dedicated or P2P? Had both answers now! :)

deticated NO LAG like resistance (yet 360 fanboys keep complaining that "we pay for xbl, so we get better servers" have you seen gears 2 online?) a reason i only play ps3 for online (gears 2 single player is all i play on 360)

Interesting...everything they've released UNTIL this, has stated that they hold the servers.

No lag whatsoever here. You might want to work on you connection.

My connection is fine; the game is TERRIBLE.  The hit detection is terrible and the game IMO is terrible.  I can un-loud a couple of shots in someones face from a far ways away and the hits don't register.  Sometimes a guy will die two seconds after I shot hit.

It's funny you say that, me and my friend noticed the same thing. People die a few split seconds after you shoot them. Same thing with the distance shooting ...I played with the sniper rifle, it's like 75% accurate & I was hitting targets and nothing. Yeh it's a bit disappointing, the game was so hyped and now for me---an XIM player, it's ehh.

I read that turning off Cross Color Reduction Filter reduces the so called "lag" and as of today they released a new update that says there has been "minor tweaks and modifications" to the controlling.

No you don't need the sixaxis you keep the sniper steady, it seems to stay steady by default if there is no sixaxis detected.

Don't let the fanboys get you down about this game either, it's great.

dont know if any of you have noticed yet but the new patch for the game has fixed alot of the problems and even improved on the contorles wich makes it alot easyer usinf the xim

Still not controlling all that well though, plus the six axis segments make it a pain.

Don't like the performance hits when it tries to load a new section either.
