Well i've been reading about modding the g13 and i really did not want to have to open up the g13 and or sand down joysticks etc. and also void my warrenty. I came up with a solution not sure if anyone has done it yet but i like it so far and it actually looks like it came like this from the factory. all you have to have is a drill, drill bit, xbox 360 thumb stick, glue gun, and a thumb grip that slides over the xbox 360 thumb stick.
all the pics are in sequence, this was after i did mine, i just wanted to show the steps to do it so the pics are a little sloppy but i just wanted you to get the idea...what i did not put a pic of is actually sliding it over the joystick on g13... i filled the hole up half way with hot glue and then slid it over the joystick and put the bottom of the xbox thumbstick even with the bottom of the g13 thumb stick... you cant slide it all the way over then the new thumbstick will restrict you... as long as its even it looks very nice and looks factory.. now you have better grip and much nicer looking g13 without having to take the g13 apart...any questions or need more descriptive answer on anything let me know...

anymore pics wanted of finished product but different position let me know...
i also chose to use hot glue because if i ever want to take it off hot glue is much easier to get off the g13 thumbstick then super glue. but use want u want either will work..

looks bulky underneath the joystick head, how's it workin' out for ya?

i'll try to take another pic of that its not bad its the shadow and bad phone camera but also thats why i said that you have to match the bottom of the xbox 360 thumb head to the bottom of the g13 thumb head... if you go further down the shaft yes you will get restricted... i'll tell you it feels alot more comfortable then the original g13 thumb head... very soft and easy to move and feels very solid like one piece does not wobble, NO RESTRICTION AT ALL on moving stick either, moves just like the origina head would. im very happy with it. You can use any thumb grip you want which is really cool. very easy to interchange thumb grips..

cool - i bought one that someone here already modded, feels really nice.

added a pic to post #2 to show a little better clearence of the head... i can spin it all around pushed to the edge and it does not touch anything...

Cool. The only issue I can see with this is overtime the hot glue may start to "give" and would need to be reapplied. If that's the only flaw in this mod then that is nothing to worry about. Thanks for sharing.

This is a mod I did to my G13. No Sanding, No Glue, Just Plug n Play ! No ruining the warranty since I just replaced the stick. So fast and simple to do. It took less than 5 minutes to complete. I used a Logitech Dual Action PC gamepad stick. Perfect fit and looks clean. Check it out !!!

i dunno if i'd want to open up the g13...you have the remove all the under rubbers which means you'll probably scratch the heck out of the bottom of it..and then you have to glue the rubber feet back in i believe

I peeled mine off half way and was able unscrew it that way. Then when I was done there was still adhesive on the rubbers so they stayed on. The great thing about the screws was they weren't in the middle. Mostly in the sides which made it much easier not to peel everything off.

You could use a hair drier to get the feet off. It will keep the adhesive tacky and prevent warping of the feet.
