[ACTIVE] not receiving triple green anymore.

hi there,
so i love my xim4. been using it about 4 months and i play so many games on it. starting a few days ago my ps4 controllers werent being recognized by the xim and i wasnt getting that green green green on startup. i know everything before that is good but i only get to the red breathing before that. all my periferals are good and its not the chord or the controller. i want to get back to playing games soon its my only solace from dreaded 12 hour shifts :(

Welcome to the community. Please start by connecting the controller directly to the console to charge for 1 hour. After this please connect all devices to XIM4 then connect XIM4 to the console. Do you have a controller icon at the top of Manager?

i have all 4 icons at the top of the manager, nothing is missing and theres no power issues. the xim reads i have a controller plugged in but theres no 3x green.

Are you using one of the newer PS4 controllers (the one with the controller light that shows through the trackpad at the top)?

nope. im using the regular dualshock 4 that comes with the ps4.

Let's work on getting the controller authenticated (green lights). Could you try starting XIM4 with only the controller attached? Try this using each port of XIM4.

so upon investigating, these are my results with only the controller plugged:

port 1: controller is noticed on manager, but no 3x green
port 2: same.
port 3: same.

im fairly sure its not a problem with the controller because i have exchanged multiple out.

Could you try a replacement cable between XIM4 and console? It would be worth trying other ports on the console as well.
 
If you're using an extension, switch, or hub before XIM4 remove these. If you have other USB devices attached to the console in the port next to XIM4 remove this as well.

ive changed out every chord, yet still nothing works. i dont have any extra peripherals at all by the way.

Thanks for testing that. I'd like to see if your XIM is responding to the flash tool. If it's unresponsive this could point toward a larger issue.

Could you please enter programming mode and attempt to update your XIM4 using the flash tool below and share the message you receive?

So I held the P and put it into into programming mode and it successfully updated to a current patch. Now I'm going to try everything again and see what happens.

it says its updated but nothing is fixed, still every color pattern but that  3x green.

Could excessive power drain be bombing Bluetooth on boot-up? I remember this being an issue for me in the early days of Xim4 and vaguely recall it affected the lighting sequence at boot-up.

Try connecting m&kb to a powered USB hub, then connect the hub to the Xim4.

well that was one of the things that we tried earlier, that being connect the controller to the xim through all 3 ports with no other peripherals and see if you could get the sequence. upon testing it i get no different results. also forgot to mention that if i do unplug the controller after everything, despite not seeing the triple green, i still get yellow flashing indicating the disconnection of a controller.

It can but they are only connecting the controller and they are able to use Manager, the controller is not authenticating.

Kyo, given your results and testing it should be working. Could you try factory resetting using that build from earlier?

Your issue points to a controller or cable issue. There are some APEX users who have experienced this recently where the controller will display in Manager but there are no green lights. What has helped is attaching a short extension between console and XIM or between XIM and controller. If you have a hub try placing the hub between XIM4 and console or between XIM4 and controller.
