[RESOLVED] Apex/iOS not pairing
« on: 10:49 PM - 03/12/18 »
Hey community, got my apex in today and now that Im setup, the apex isnt showing on iOS app. I turned bluetooth off many times and the apex doesnt show. I tried as the instructional videos showed and opened the app then pressed the thumbstick button on the apex and still doesnt pair to connect.

Im using the Razer Tartarus V2-Logitech G703-Xbox controller. I can pair to the xim4 and played on it without an issue. Apex is a different story.

Any clue anyone?

XIM APEX uses the game Bluetooth LE system for iOS as XIM4, so, you shouldn't be having a problem.

When you press the button on your XIM APEX, do you see the light on it display cyan-green like on the instructional video?

By flash quickly twice, do you see the colors cyan and then green?

Can you please download and run this app on your phone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bluetooth-smart-scanner/id509978131?mt=8

And let us know if your see XIM APEX show up in that?

Ok, that's strange. I wonder if there is something wrong with your Bluetooth radio on your XIM APEX. If you hold your phone right up against your XIM APEX, does it change anything?

You don't use the system Bluetooth section to pair your XIM APEX. I do know that iOS 11 has made it harder to know if your Bluetooth radio on your phone is actual on.

XIM APEX is Bluetooth LE. Your headphones are Bluetooth classic (which is why they show up in the list).

Try this. As I understand there are 2 places to enable/disable Bluetooth on iOS 11. What people do is turn off Bluetooth in both places and turn on Airplane mode in both places. Then, they reverse that. After that, they pair just like in the video. Make sure to replug your XIM APEX every time you do this too since it may be still holding on to an abandoned connect from one of your prior attempts.

Yes, I don't know why Apple did it this way (i.e. switches in multiple places and not knowing if the switch really turns everything off). Thanks for confirming.
