I'm having a lot of connectivity issues with the app and my Apex.  I have to constantly retry to connect to get it to talk to my Apex.

I noticed that under my Bluetooth devices, Apex is not there (like XIM4 was previously).  Is this intentional?

APEX uses bluetooth LE. I don't think it's visible as a pairing option unless Manager is already connected to it.

If you're wondering the status on APEX and it's bluetooth radio you can check this at startup. The startup light sequence should look like this:

red, green, blue
red
cyan, green <- bluetooth initialization
red
green, green, green, green

Do you see that cyan-green at startup? You should see the same cyan-green when pressing the APEX button.

Hi Mist,

Yes, I do see that sequence of lights when the Apex starts up.  When the Apex is fully on and I start the app, the app tries to connect, then the red screen comes up.  I have to constantly hit the "connect" button and eventually it connects.

This happens everytime!  Any other suggestions to try?

Try closing the app on your phone before starting APEX.

Try closing the app on your phone before starting APEX.

Yeah, I've done this numerous times...same thing.

Did you try rebooting your phone? What type is it?

Yes, I have...multiple times.  Moto Z2 Play running Android version 7.1.1.

After I hit the "connect" button multiple times on the red screen, it finally connects.  I never had this type of issue with XIM4 (I know it's probably not an apples to apples comparison).

Ok, so it does pair without issue, it's that it doesn't reconnect easily?

Also, is your XIM4 off when you are doing this?

Even when pairing it took a while to do so before eventually connecting.  And every time I try to connect, I have to hit connect multiple times before it does.

I've tried uninstalling the app, rebooting the phone, re-installing the app and re-pairing.  It does the same thing.

My XIM4 never did this.  It connected 100% of the time on the first try without issues with the same phone.

Actually, I just tried uninstalling the app, restarting my phone, reinstalling the app, then trying to pair.

That initial pair doesn't even happen.  The Apex is booted up and up and running.  Then I open  the app, accept the license agreement.  After downloading the games library, the screen to pair comes on with the spinning XIM logo.

I then hit the button on the Apex to pair.  It doesn't....red screen comes on.  If I hit "connect" on the red screen a few times, it eventually connects.

I'm running the Beta firmware, but the stock firmware did the same thing.  Let me know if this additional info helps and if you can help me.

I have the same problem as others, and its the same as you, tried everything. I'm using One plus 2 up to date and they say my phone is perfectly BT LE compatible. What's your phone model?

please check my other post too, maybe ObsIV can bring us a beta with wide BT compatibility, i can't afford a new phone just because of this.

Unfortunately, unlike iOS, Android is all over the place on Bluetooth LE.

Those having problems, please download and run this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.macdom.ble.blescanner&hl=en

Let us know if "XIM APEX" shows up in the scanner and the signal strength you see for it. Also, if you can connect to your XIM APEX using the scanner.

I'm using the Moto Z2 Play.  I unfortunately don't have any other Bluetooth LE devices to test my phone against to see if I'm having issues connecting to those devices.

I tried the scanner that OBsiV suggested above and was able to see the Apex in the app.  But I would have to hit connect multiple times before it actually connects to the Apex.

These are the results, it connects but it says not bonded then when i start manager its the same, it connects but then after changing values it shows read failure and APEX stops working. I think BT LT is really recognized but don't know why is not working well.
