Just ordered a grifta

I've just ordered a grifta gamepad from Amazon. Just wondering if anyone out there has replaced the Sony navigation controller with a grifta Gamepad? What are your experiences with this device?

As I understand the only mode fully working on the Grifta with XIM4 is keyboard mode.
Get the most out of your XIM4, read the XIM4 Support FAQ.

Ok recieved my grifta and played a couple of games of crucible with it, thoughts so far....

Easy to set up. Just plug the wireless receiver into the xim4 and hold down the g button to sync.

The joystick does not automatically work as it needs assigning to xim manager button assignments. The xim4 recognises ever button  on the grifta.

The grifta has several output modes... Keyboard mode, a mode where it emulates an xbox controller and another mode. I have only tried keyboard mode so far. In this mode the analog stick is not truly analog, it mearly operates as a series of digital buttons (just like wasd) this is not an issue in destiny where 2 speeds is all you really need (walk and sprint)
I can see this as a disadvantage for games like rainbow six siege where peeking is integral to the game..... Having said that pc players do just as well.

When I compare the grifta to the nav there's not a lot in it. Comfort... Too early to tell, I found the nav uncomfortable at first and now I'm just used to it... Will have to come back to this after a few months of use.

What is effectively L3 is harder to click than on the Nav, the switch seems less clicks.

What I really like about the grifta is that it has a button directly opposite the trigger button which you activate by flicking your left index finger away from you. It is very nice.... I have assigned melee to it.

Apparently you can buy different hand grips for it to cater for larger hands.... Not managed to find this link yet.

Not the most in depth review, I suck, will add to this in due course.

What do you think is better so far? Nav or Grifta?

Too early to say. I perform better with the nav but that's no indication of whether the grifta or nav is better as I've been using the nav for 3 years.

The mode it needs for true analogue stick support isn't working, so it doesn't perform like a Nav at all.

I bought one but put it right back in the box, very disappointed:(

The owner emailed me and he said he would try to get this fixed, but judging by his history I'm not expecting much. I decided to move on unfortunately. Bit of a waste of money for me:(

I've also advised Paul about the issue and linked him the relevant Xim4 threads stating the issues.

What we really need is for OBsIV to put this issue to bed and make a true analog stick (wand) that caters to XIM. Given the fact that he himself is a Nav user I'm struggling to understand why it hasn't already happened. The thing would sell like hotcakes. I'd buy at least 3-4 myself and pay up to $50.00 a piece!

Work with the community, even create a starter if need be. But do it man!

What are you waiting for?
XB1 | C:M$ | XIM4 | Latest | BenQ 24" Monitor | Pad: Steel Series 9HD | Sony Nav | A: Sennheiser 650's/Mod mic/Sound Blaster X7 | M: G402 | D: 4000 | P: 1000 | AAA setup [ON]

That would be the ideal scenario imo.

Grifta returned, I need something like the razer nostromo / tartarus that has a thumb stick but also the ability to run macros. But no one has built anything like that as they do not have on board memory
