Destiny: My Advanced Setup (UPDATED 05/24/16)
« on: 03:45 PM - 04/19/15 »
Well, as mentioned in that "Other" thread. The wife's OOT so I have some extra time on my hands this week and I told SHawking I'd post this, this weekend.

So, why try an advanced setup? Here are some of the benefits you will enjoy with my Destiny setup that you don't have with a basic ST. This isn't any fault of XIM4, Destiny just has a poor look mechanic and a low turn speed cap.

- Faster movement and more responsive controls while Running or operating a Vehicle.
- Configuration specific Ballistic curves, created just for Destiny.
- Ability to Summon your vehicle, Mount your vehicle, and load Vehicle Configuration with a single button Press!
- Ability to Dismount a Vehicle and Load HIP Configuration with a single button press.
- Ability to activate SUPER, Heavy Weapon or go to Orbit with a single button Press.

Sound Good? Well, let's get started shall we.   ;)

UPDATE: You must create Settings (Sub Configs) in the following order for this to work properly.
- Primary, HIP (already created)
- Sub, ADS (already created)
- Sub, Running (you create)
- Sub, Vehicle (you create)

Added 9/16/15, my entire Destiny setup for G502 and Nav all within this one Code! That's right, sensitivities, Ballistic curves, button layout, sub-configs, EVERYTHING! All codes are for the LATEST firmware/manager found in the release candidate section.

1. Open up a brand new Destiny config (or copy over yours if your feeling Bawse)
2. Click the edit button at the top left to enter the config for editing.
3. Click on the 3 small dots to the right of the configs color block to open the drop down.
4. Paste the code below IN ITS ENTIRETY! To ensure you copy the entire code click on the word "Select" above the code. This will highlight everything that must be copied.
5. Enjoy!

Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Destiny] START PASTE >>>
X4C: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:X4C
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

IMPORTANT!! Some of my setup will not work properly without following my instructions for mouse settings within LGS.

HIP:
This Ballistic was originally created for Running, but I really like it for HIP instead (Thanks mist4fun).

New Firmware (20151120)
Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Mouse Ballistics] START PASTE >>>
X4MB:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANQAxADEAMgAwAA0aJzRBTlxreoyescjIyMjIyMjI:X4MB
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

Note: 500 Boost - IMO it makes control feel a little better, snappier!

I also like to use Steady Aim for HIP, IMO it helps with hip fire accuracy.

ADS:
I use a Tracking curve to help combat Aim Assist and stay on target.

Latest Firmware/manager
Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Mouse Ballistics] START PASTE >>>
X4MB:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANQAxADEAMgAwAA8eLTxLW2VveYONl6Grtb/IyMjI:X4MB
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

Alternative ADS curve (more Aggressive)
Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Mouse Ballistics] START PASTE >>>
X4MB:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANgAwADQAMAA1ABs2UWyBjJOaoaeutLvByMjIyMjI:X4MB
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

I use a slightly higher YX ratio to help combat weapon recoil, this works by simply giving you faster vertical movement.

Sprint:
I made this curve the other day and I like it more then my previous one, which I'm currently using for HIP

New Firmware (20151120)
Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Mouse Ballistics] START PASTE >>>
X4MB:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANQAxADEAMgAwAA8eLj1NXGt7ipmpuMjIyMjIyMjI:X4MB
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

I assign this config to the Nav J9 button (Left Bumper) I DONOT use toggle for this config which means that the config is only active while the button is held down. IMO, Toggle doesn't work well for this config and is a frustrating endeavor (try it if you don't believe me). I also added a 200ms delay, this eliminates a slight jitter that was occasionally felt when Activating the config due to the difference in settings from HIP (smoother transition).

I modified YX value and added 500 Boost. This adds a little more movement to the X axis (horizontal movement) and makes turning feel a little more responsive. I also bind Turn Assist to Kpad2, this can seem strange at first but it's the only way to achieve MAX turn speed and hold it. It adds to gameplay and IMO, makes running and vehicles more enjoyable once you get used to it.

Sparrow:
I use the same curve as running but with a bit more sensitivity.

New Firmware (20151120)
Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Mouse Ballistics] START PASTE >>>
X4MB:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANQAxADEAMgAwAA8eLj1NXGt7ipmpuMjIyMjIyMjI:X4MB
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

I use Toggle behavior for this config and use LGS settings in order to activate it (I'll explain in a link later).

Once again, I adjusted YX ratio and added Boost and bound Turn Assist to Kpad2.

Thanks to the NEW "Config Deactivation" keys that OBsIV created for ADS toggle, we can now easily dismount the Sparrow and deactivate the Sparrow config, without help from LGS. All you need to do is assign a deactivation key, then assign the same key to the Jump button under secondary button bindings, like this. Note: You have to assign it to both HIP and Sparrow button configurations.

Ok, now let's brake this down to how this all lays out on my G502 and Nav, shall we.

Please note that I'm using "Green Thumb" button layout, in game. I do this because it matches my BF and COD layouts. This way, I don't have to learn new assignments when switching games. I will add button codes for the different Configs. If you also use the G502 and Nav and would like to match my setup simply copy/paste. These button layouts are for Xbox One, however, I believe they will work for PS4 if you switch your Triggers and Bumpers. I'm not 100% on that, but it should work!

HIP and ADS
Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Buttons] START PASTE >>>
X4BT:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANQAxADEAMgAwQAGgEEAIgQFrAkAQQAKAQGsEoAiAAYACgAiABIEggRCBBAAAAAAAAAAAoASgBGsIAABsAWwEAAAAAAAAAAAAAGuAAAA=:X4BT
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<
20151120 Manager

Sprint:
20150816 Manager
Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Buttons] START PASTE >>>
X4BT:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANQAxADEAMgAwQAGgEEAIgQFrAkAQQAKAQAAAoAiAAYACgAiABIEggRCBBAAAAAAAAAAAoASgBGwCAABsAWwEAAAAAAAAAAAAAGuAAAA=:X4BT
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

Sparrow:
20150816 Manager (buttons will vary a little as I slightly changed my layout, also, now with the new cancel config option you can use jump to exit the sparrow and change the ST back to HIP).
Code: [Select]
>>> XIM4 [Buttons] START PASTE >>>
X4BT:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANQAxADEAMgAwQAGgEAAAAABAAoEBawgAAAAAAACAAYACgAiABIEggRCBBAAAAAAAAAAAoASgBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA=:X4BT
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

Lastly, here's the link I spoke of earlier for Vehicle Config. If Summoning, Mounting and Activating the Vehicle Config with "ONE" simple button press interest you, then you need to take a look. I've also updated my setup and added a little magic for the Heavy Weapon and for going to Orbit.

Just a heads up man, I hadn't played Destiny in awhile and I rushed this a little. My ANALITY kicked in last night and I've improved my setup quite a bit. I will be updating this setup either tonight or tmw. I think people will really enjoy some things I've simplified and done with this.

Interesting...how is this different than the one in the Library?  I have no complaints about stock/curves I was using but wondering if something could be done to enhance my experience.  The thing that I ignore that apparently I've been told has negative effects is the Max turn speed indicator.  As soon as I move my mouse the warning is initiated. LOL.  That's even moving my mouse slowly.  I can't think of my sensitivity off the top of my head but I think it's more.  I'll have to find out and see what the differences are.

Looking forward to your tweaks.  The one that got me scratching my head is how you have your left and right buttons on the mouse for looking L/R and have the snipe button for shooting.  I just can't get pass the thought of even trying that. It'll just feel so awkward. LOL.

Ha,ha ... yeah it's really difficult for a Nav user to find a way of utilizing right stick potential. It would be really nice to have Turn Assist back. That would simplify things quite a bit! Which buttons you use are of course up to you. I have actually changed that layout a little as well. I will post my entire button layout and crap when I get time and try to explain my craziness. It's really just all about helping newer members understand all the tools, how to use them and get people thinking and sharing ideas.

The ballistics are the same, this is just a more in depth look at my setup. As mentioned earlier, to help newer members and to get people thinking.

I registered this account to say thank you.  Youre setup has gotten me multiple 3-5+ kdrs in iron banner today against premades sometimes.

I dropped my dpi to 8000, polling to 1000 on my g502 and just flat out copied your setup. We myst be using a similar mousepad because it works perfect for me.

I have been lost and so frustrated with destiny and the xim(xim is great but it was terrible out the box with destiny unlike cod) i was about to shelf it until i found this

This really is great

Thanks alot, I'm a ximer for many years now and never took a look to ballistic curves, seemed to be difficult to understand, but now it's more clear. I'm gonna try yours for Destiny and Hardline and see what happens :) I've learned a lot.

Just a question, how do you launch the super with ONE button ? Is it thanks to bind your mouse with macro ?

And I was totally in fog concerning sub-configs, and thanks to you I think I understood how it works and possibilities you get with.

I appreciate the fact that you registered just to acknowledge my post. I put a lot of effort into writing this up, it's nice to know it helped you. That's why I did it man (well everything except the little button pics, that was my daughter lol ... she had a blast though). I remember my struggles coming into XIM, I'm always happy to help a fellow Ximmer out.

Like I said, I'm happy to help a brother out.

- Concerning One button SUPER -
XIM manager > Destiny Config > HIP > Buttons > Secondary buttons

Then just assign LB and RB to the same button.

Now, guess what Gents? My Anality just got a little more ANAL Lol...
I got tired of holding down Y to go to Orbit and for switching to the Heavy weapon so I modified my setup a little  ::)

I really wasn't utilizing Long Range Snipe for this game very much so I removed it and added the Heavy weapon and Orbit buttons. I also was getting a little frustrated with using the MB (scroll button) for SUPER because I was inadvertently bumping right or left scroll once in a while (PANIC MOMENTS, haha) which would put me in Vehicle config. UGH... So I switched up the button layout a little bit and TBH I like it ALOT better now. I already updated the Button codes to match the layouts pictured. So just copy/paste if you're interested.

Enjoy!  ;)

Thanks RML it's clear now, I never thought to bind two pad buttons with the same mouse/keyboard button, it's very useful. And yep I noticed you have updated your config. True is that long range never happens in this game, in this way you're even more effective ;D and your super button is also more controlled by binding like that, nice job ! I'm gonna make a SUPER button and a config for vehicules, so impatient to be at home.

Lol ... Destiny's a nice change of pace. My problem is, if there's a way to improve my gaming experience I'm going to do it. That's what brought me to XIM in the first place. I'm pretty anal about everything in life that way TBH. I'm my own worst enemy sometimes, no doubt!

As far as work goes, I've done the majority of that for you guys. I would think this setup could be mimicked in less then 30mins. just a lot of Copy/Paste and a little tweaking if you use a different mouse.

XIM has made console gaming enjoyable for me. I honestly wouldn't be gaming if it weren't for XIM. So, I have no qualms about sharing my knowledge and excitement about their product. Anything I can do to help XIM or XIM members is always a pleasure and, in a way, it's my way of giving back and saying Thank You!
