Sony Navigation controller use on all PC games.
« on: 10:19 AM - 09/14/11 »
Ok i found out how to use the sony navigation controller on all pc games.

1. install the sony navigation drivers from crosscrucial. Make sure that its working without any errors by going to properties>game controller settings. make sure the button lights light up and the crosshair moves around with analog stick. (drivers http://www.xim3.com/community/index.php?topic=6408.0 )

2. download and install xpadder. xpadder will allow you to use the sony navigation controller in any game. www.xpadder.com

Can you post a copy of you Nav profile?
A controller is a handicap.
Can I be honest here -- you guys are starting to drive me a little nuts. Can I please just add the features we talked about and then you all *try* them and decide if you really need all this new stuff you are asking for now?

what do you mean? for xpadder? i just went into the game wrote down on a piece of paper what the keybinds were for the actions i wanted to assign to the nav... then  i went into xpadder and named a profile for that specific game and binded them to that keyboard button...

or do you want to know what i use to jump, prone, etc on the nav?

i tried motionjoy, i could not get it to work ingame.. even if you go to there forum you will read the same thing.. motion joy did not even notice the nav controller as the nav. xpadder to me was alot easier and it worked.. i DLed xpadder from a torrent =)

updated the pic on original post to my xpadder layout. each PS nav button you assign to a keyboard key. you activate xpadder then you can go into any game and go into controls and if you press the button on the nav controller which ever keyboard key you assigned to that button it will use. You DO NOT have to setup a profile for every game. you can even set up the nav to use as a mouse on this program. as i play with it more and more the more i'm starting to like xpadder.

I could never get motion joy to work for me. Such a weird way to run things.

So this isn't XIM3 related, but how well do you think this would work with playing The Old Republic?  I'm using my G13 right now but it is KILLING my wrist.  It seems like it would be enough to get me through seeing as how my mouse is a Naga Epic so I've got a nice amount of buttons on that end.

I just need something more comfortable to use as I've already dropped 110 hours into TOR and I don't see any sign of slowing down besides carpal tunnel.

Using a nav and a naga seems ideal if you're looking for analog support. That would be the way I'd go.

So i have been using mouse and KB for as long as ive played pc games
but since i started a new job where typing is 8-10 hours a day its been causing me pain in the wrist and bones of my hand when i game,I have a supportive wrist rest and i dont play in the freezing cold .
so i want to change to the navigation controller for asdw thumbstick to keep the mose and not need the controller death.

I have done enough research to know most people used to use motionjoy but thats apparently frought with malware,
So i bought Xpadder to use with the nav and any other controllers i want to use, but when i open Xpadder the screen stays pink and no controller shows.
in the xpadder settings the nav shows:

and it shows in the device manager

the image of the blankness in xpadder..

I downloaded the driver suggested above and still no joy, when i install the driver the nav no longer shows in the Xpadder settings
