Title: [Q/A] Too much power?
Post by: Arrowshot7 on 01:51 AM - 07/12/18
Is there anything I can do to make sure my keyboard and mouse don't use too much power for the xim apex?

Hey,

do you get the red/yellow blinking or does your xim shut down?

some ways to prevent that are to charge your controller, this alone can cause a powerdraw issue
if possible deactivate your keyboard backlight too

if neither of this works, or you want to keep your backlight on, then you can get an external power supply for your xim hub to solve the electricity issue

Hey,

you can basically go with any adapter on amazon that meets the criterias 5V 3A power adapter ([3.5mm x 1.35mm], center-positive)

here are two examples on amazon:

check the back of your xim hub, you will find a tiny hole there
the external power supply will be connected to that hole (which is why the requirements above are important)
after that just connect your external power supply to a socket and thats it :)
