Post by: spawnpeekingyager on 05:35 PM - 02/11/18
Hey guys, is there a difference between the "Logitech ‑ G502 Proteus Spectrum Optical Gaming Mouse ‑ Black" and the "Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum RGB Tunable Gaming Mouse"?

Maybe it's the same mouse just listed by 2 different sellers, which would explain the price difference too?

There are two versions of this mouse.

The older one is called Proteus Core.

The newer one is called Proteus Spectrum.

The Core has only blue light.

The Spectrum has RGB.

Otherwise they are identical.

If they are indeed the same listing both calling it Proteus Spectrum. Get the cheaper one.

If you want any LED colour other than blue, get the Spectrum RGB.

They've likely misnamed it due to a lack of product knowledge and you're taking a risk by not getting the RGB version if you want RGB.

The Proteus Core is no longer in development, it has blue on the thumb rest, the Spectrum is the newer version which is fully black but includes RGB lighting, meaning you can customise the lighting however you want instead of being stuck with the blue on the core. Apart from that the mice are exactly the same.

Least possible friction/resistance where mouse skates contact mouse pad should be paramont priority, it would be nice if lights increased kdr, check the link above they're the only ones with metallic skates , once you've tried metallic skates you'll never go back to Teflon, night and day difference.
